Chương 66: Frenemies

Seraphina was jolted awake as the alarms began to sound. She could hear the commotion in the hall as people rushed to their designated evacuation points. She looked over at Celestia who was staring out the window seemingly lost in silent contemplation.

"What's going on?" Seraphina asked, rushing over to the window.

"I'm not entirely sure, but I think our imposter may have come back," she said, pointing in the direction that the security guards were running.

"They're after someone," she said, almost mechanically.

"I hope they catch the bastard," Seraphina said coldly.

"What he did to Farthingsworth and my house is just too much," she said angrily.

"I want to know why getting a corpse was so important, that he needed to kill to get it."

"I just want to know what their end game is. Why are they so interested in Thai?" Celestia asked, turning to Seraphina.

"Okay, so that was obviously a really stupid question," she added, seeing the look on Seraphina's face. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Both women turned as the door burst open. They stood wordlessly as a young fairy walked in.

"Seraphina? Celestia?" the young woman asked, her eyes searching the room.

"Yes," they answered almost in unison.

"I don't have time to explain but come with me if you want to live! That guy that the guards are after, he was sent to… to take you back to be… executed. Your lives are in danger," she said, rushing closer to the pair.

"We're not going anywhere with you until you tell us who you are and what in Janus' name is going on," Seraphina said, backing away slightly, placing herself between the stranger and Celestia.

"Look, if I wanted to hurt you both, I would have done so already," Regina said, feeling frustrated by the urgency, but understanding their caution.

"Still doesn't tell me who you are or what you want," Seraphina said, continuing to back up.

"I will answer all your questions as soon as I get you both to safety," she said, inching forward. Celestia's back was now up against the wall, and Seraphina butted against her. Regina saw this as her opportunity as she quickly made her way forward and wrapped her arms around both fairies while pushing the button three times, hoping for the best.
