June dragged the APC into the city; people started running and screaming when they saw his appearance. He didn't blame them. Once he got to the gateways, guards showed up in sets of armor and medieval weaponry. Tinkerer once said that a bad bomb is still a bomb, but if you want to kill a monster, you need to get up and personal. Bows, blades, and anything that requires active killing intent are better than any gun.
Some monsters wouldn't be hurt by a tank, but at the same time a dagger imbued with will would cut it like butter. Bows work too, but will peter off the longer they're separated from the wielder; a person needs to make contact to use their will with something. Guns, on the other hand, make killing a detached thing; it's much harder to manifest killing intent with one, let alone maintain it with a per-bullet precision. June looked at the crowd of brave onlookers and the guards surrounding them.
He didn't have a jaw at the moment, so words were a bit hard to speak. Julian staggered out.
"We need a healer; don't mind him, it's just his ability in action." Most people knew that they could use their will on their bodies, but most refused to. The soul made flesh warp around it to make a body, but exerting will on your body effects your soul too. June never understood what they meant by soul; he used to think they were being spiritual in some sense, but long after using his will and abilities, he began to sense his soul.
Not to mention meeting the beast was enough to make him acutely aware of his mortality as he felt his soul collapsing. With a squelch, his torso fell out of his limbs, and they sprouted regular human limbs; his jaw grew back a few times, falling off when inadequate, and eventually he seemed to turn back into his harrowing, beautiful form. The old flesh stayed in the same position, almost as if awaiting their master's commands.
His bright golden irises looked a bit faded, but they were still enough for people to want to covet them. The crowd's expression changed; some were still rightfully scared, some were entranced, and some shamelessly expressed their want. Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. His indifferent eyes betrayed the concept emotion June ignored them and staggered past Julian into the APC. June's hair was a bit more messy, but the bracelet Shade gave him was intact.
During the harsher parts of the journey, June created a crown of bone to shield the bracelet from the elements. So it was still pristine, to an extent. He was tired, rightfully so, so he went into the APC and collapsed on the hard, yet slightly squishy, mat of the training room. and this time he didn't hold himself back from going to the waking realm 3: 42pm June almost slept for 10 hours longer than he normally would when entering the nightrealm.
He walked out groggily for once and looked at himself in the bathroom mirror. His eyes had faded; his pupil was almost recognizable. Instead of it also being solid gold, it wasn't black like it was when he was mundane but a blood red ruby color. To be frank he looked horrible He washed up and walked into the living room; his mother was sitting down and watching TV. It was late enough, so he decided to walk his dog.
After he came back, June checked his phone. He felt that a movie would be nice. He would go and watch a movie on his own once in a while. It was a nice treat for himself, since he didn't need to be funny or decipher social discrepancies on his own. So June did just that, he got ready in his nice clothes. He put on one of his two pairs of non-sweatpants; it was a nice sepia color with plenty of pockets along the sides.
It used to be very baggy when he wore it, but thanks to his awakening, he finally fits it properly. One trait he really enjoyed when his eyes were reformed was the fact that he could see things without glasses, he could see in the dark, and most importantly, he could see the world in its vibrant colors better, enhanced vision was great. To put it plainly, he was partially colorblind before his transformation, so some colors to him were mind-meltingly beautiful.
He would sometimes just sit and stare at things, enjoying what he couldn't before. He put on a shirt; it was a purplish blue. To be frank, he was relearning his colors and didn't know what to call it. Anyhow, it had a red outline, and inside it was a portrait drawing of a couple drawn in an eastern style. It was an anime shirt, to put it plainly. The design had faded over the years, but he still kept it fondly; it was one of the few pieces of clothing that he actually enjoyed wearing.
Atop that, he put on his beige turtleneck zip-up sweater. In all honesty, June couldn't decide if it was a jacket or a sweater, but he didn't really care because he wanted to wear his favorite jacket on top anyways. The turtleneck sweater was the same sepia color as the pants he was wearing. And finally, he put on his blue and white letterman jacket, which also may or may not be a sweater, but June didn't care. He was wearing what he liked today, and he was going to watch a movie.
any movie, he's not going to check. It was Tuesday, so the movies were having a discount at the local theater. Today would be a day of measured spontaneity. June took one final look at the mirror in his room. The sepia color scheme really complimented his olive skin and faded gold eyes; the dark shirt that was exposed just a little made the contrast really nice. June never understood dressing up nicely; he just wore whatever depending on how much he cared about going somewhere.
But now looking at himself, he was starting to understand being fashionable.
'If I get a job, I could buy myself some new clothes.' June was a bit surprised he even thought that; he has always been fine with what he had, never really wanting more. His eyes recovered their initial sheen a little, but the red ruby pupil remained. He had a feeling he knew why it was there; Will worked in mysterious ways. The ruby pupil was there for one reason and one reason only. He had gained his flaw.
