What is God? A concept? A being? An object? Nothing? Something? Tangible? Intangible? Benevolent? Malevolent? Do they rule? Do they watch? Do they push the pawn on the chessboard knowing the knight watches? When they fall, does life sprout? Does it die? Will their souls outlive their vessels? Or will their bodies outlive their souls? Are they everything? Or are they nothing? The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement. How does one kill a god?
Was what he saw even considered god? It was definitely almighty. It was the sky. June didn't have answers to these questions, but he continued to recite poetry and philosophy to himself. He hadn't slept in a month; his awakened body was superhuman, but he wasn't all-powerful. For the last month he dragged the crushed APC with all his will. It all happened so fast. Shade was in a coma, Julian was injured, and the rest of the cohort was dead. Everybody was dead. Almost everybody.
June knew it; everything he had ever gotten was taken away. It was less speculation to him. It was law. The beast caught up; the transport was too slow. Half of the convoy peeled off. June didn't know if they lived or not. He didn't ask much about the beast; he was once a member of the support crew. But they are all dead now. It all happened so quick. It was calm. Then it wasn't. Teeth, Clouds, Teeth, Clouds. His mind was reeling. The beast was not a beast. It was a god. His blood seethed.
Murder, mutilation, obliteration. It will die. The beast will die. God will die.
