Aidan The first thing I do is create about two dozen more voidlings. With these voidlings being much higher level than my first voidling, and their levels seemingly depending on the level of the mana core I used to fuel their soul. Not entirely depending on it though. It also seems to depend a bit on my craftsmanship for their bodies. Which mostly comes down to my imagination and if said imagination is doable in a real life body.
To keep things simple for now, I make all of the voidlings look the same as the first one I made. Ants the size of wolves with shiny black carapace and numerous mandibles in front of their mouth. So now I have about a dozen voidlings ranging from levels ten to fifteen, with half a dozen from sixteen to nineteen, and another half a dozen between six to nine.
And after finishing making off of them, using up each of the mana cores I brought with me to do so, I walk over to the first voidling I ever created before kneeling down and cutting my wrist to feed it some blood. Completely ignoring the morbidly curious gazes sent my way from Ali and her group, as well as the envious gazes sent at the voidling in question from the other voidlings. All of whom no doubt want to be gifted with my blood just like this one.
Anyway, after feeding the voidling my blood, the thing suddenly starts glowing with a pitch black light. With more of said light shining from its eyes than the rest of it. Then the thing starts growing larger. Going from about one and a half meters to three meters in size. I can also tell that its stats are rising and I feel it getting some new skills as well before the glow finally begins to fade. With the connection between us growing even stronger now that it has had my blood.
And somehow I just know the skills it has despite not being able to see its status or actual skills list. Amongst the new skills the voidling got, it now has a weakened version of my blood. Specifically in that it's very difficult for the voidling to bleed out as its body is always rapidly generating more blood. Of course, it doesn't have the power to evolve other voidlings. But that would be too powerful if it could.
The voidling also got a blood burn type of skill where its blood will burn non-void creatures upon contact. Which even my blood can't do. And the last of the skills the voidling got from my blood is one I wasn't expecting at all. A self-destruct skill. So the voidling can blow itself up if it thinks it will help and I'm in danger. Overall, a rather comprehensive upgrade. So I begin going through all of the other voidlings I created, giving each one blood one after another.
To my surprise, these ones don't actually reach the size of the first one. Instead only reaching about two meters in length. Is it because the first one was, well, my first creation? That could have something to do with it. Despite it having a weaker soul and mind than these ones. Then again, times like these are why I have the Mentor Menu. So I go ahead and open the Mentor Menu before selecting to contact her. After which I immediately get a response. ◊ Seraphyne ◊ - [Yes?] A short one.
◊ Aidan ◊ - [Does the first creation I make get a boost over the others? It grew bigger than the rest when I gave it my blood.] Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. ◊ Seraphyne ◊ - [It does not. The first creature you give your blood gets a stronger boost from it than the rest, not the first voidling you create.] Oh. Well that was a waste then. I should've fed blood to one of the newer ones first.
◊ Seraphyne ◊ - [The first voidling to drink your blood will be placed directly beneath you in the hierarchy, serving as your general. It may also be revived in its weakest form after death by giving a newly created voidling your blood and thinking to revive your general.] Even more of a waste then. Having a general with such a weak soul and mind… ◊ Seraphyne ◊ - [Upgrading the mind, soul, and body of voidlings is possible in Bronze Tier.] I can't help but narrow my eyes a little at the message, briefly wondering if she's somehow reading my mind. Considering how she quickly spoke about the problem I was just thinking of without being asked about it. But the thought quickly leaves my mind when I remember how she was during her lessons. She's just the type to answer any and all questions before I even get the chance to ask most of the time. ◊ Aidan ◊ - [Thank you.] ◊ Seraphyne ◊ - [You should clear the Tutorial as quickly as possible.] My eyes narrow even more at that before I respond. ◊ Aidan ◊ - [Understood.] She most likely means that there will be some sort of reward for the first ones to clear the Tutorial in its entirety. Even if I waste a little bit of training time here, and whatever time I'd have in the next floor assuming there is any time there. Come to think of it, why do I trust her as much as I do? All she's done is teach me a bit and give me some advice. It's not like we've ever even had a conversation before…
Maybe it's because she kind of reminds me of my favorite teacher from elementary school? One who would go out of her way to help me with my hunger while the other teachers would avoid the problem as much as possible. I feel my mood drop slightly as I remember her. As I remember when she died. After a few seconds though, I shake my head and focus on the system messages in my vision. Which have been building up for a while now. Ever since I started creating new voidlings. [Basic Level 14 Voidling has been created. Appropriate source mana has been allocated.] [Basic Level 15 Voidling has been created. Appropriate source mana has been allocated.] [Basic Level 14 Voidling has been created. Appropriate source mana has been allocated.] … [Basic Level 16 Voidling has been created. Appropriate source mana has been allocated.] [User's Profession, Void Creator, has reached level 23. User's stats have risen by the following amounts: +1 Mind, +1 Soul.] [Basic Level 15 Voidling has been created. Appropriate source mana has been allocated.] … [Basic Level 19 Voidling has been created. Appropriate source mana has been allocated.] [Voidling creation has merged with the Void Crowne's blood for the first time. Appropriate source mana has been allocated.] [User's Profession, Void Creator, has reached level 24. User's stats have risen by the following amounts: +1 Mind, +1 Soul.] That's a good number of levels. Although it looks like I only get source mana for evolving a voidling once.
So the rest of their evolutions didn't give me any. A bit of a shame, but whatever. Level twenty-four is already nice. I'm just two levels away from reaching Bronze Tier already. Although this also means my Profession is a higher level than my Class again, but that doesn't really matter at the end of the day. So I quickly turn my attention to the many voidlings watching, not to mention my sister and her group.
Ali walks over without taking her eyes off of my voidling as she comments, "Pretty soon you'll have an army of these things if you keep this up…"
"Probably will," I retort with a shrug.
"Certainly not a bad thing."
"Those lizardkin might object to that," Jackson suddenly says while rushing up to poke and prod at some of my voidlings. The man proving his surprising lack of fear in the process, considering that they're three-meter-long ants in a way. It is good to see that he hasn't lost his overflowing energy between now and the last time I saw him though. And the others seem to be doing well too. Especially Henry, who is already level twenty-four somehow.
Even Ali is only level twenty-three, so I'm rather surprised to see Henry doing better than her. And even more surprised to see that it's not his Class that's doing so well, but his Profession. He must've had a really good teacher. Either that or he is just really talented at… whatever a Mental Construction Expert does. But wasn't able to advance his Profession until he learned how to from a mentor.
Also, it's interesting how it shows a user's Profession instead of the Class through identify if their Profession is a higher level. My thoughts are interrupted when the fifth ranked approaches and suddenly says, "Venerable Crowne, visitors have arrived to meet with you." I stare for a moment in confusion and surprise. Visitors?
