Soul: 63 Stamina: 430 Mana: 430 Mentor Menu ◊◊◊◊◊ Alright, let's see what this thing does. ◊◊◊◊◊ Mentor Menu Mentor Name: Seraphyne Voidstar – the Supreme Empress of the Void Throne Contact Mentor ◊◊◊◊◊ Seraphyne Voidstar? So that's the Void Empress' real name? Sounds intense. It doesn't take much thought to know the Contact Mentor button likely enters a chat or call or something with the mentor. And it's probably not a good idea to go bothering one of the Rulers of the multiverse just to test a button.
So I close out of the menu and my status before walking through the pathway. Only to find myself appearing in a large city filled with houses and buildings all over the place. I quickly focus on the next mission as it appears in my vision. ◊ Mission Received ◊ Tutorial: Tower – Floor Four: Training Floor Objectives: Either reach Bronze Tier or wait until the floor closes and you're kicked out into the fifth and final floor one day before the end of the Tutorial.
Reward: 25 Tutorial Points per day early the user leaves the Fourth Floor before its closure. Looks like the Tutorial is nearly over. I glance at the days left on the countdown to find it just a little under halfway through the Tutorial's twenty-eight day window. Meaning I have plenty of time to reach Bronze Tier. A thought crosses my mind and I turn around to find the voidling still standing beside me. Clearly having left the void realm with me to this floor.
Said voidling is also attracting a decent amount of attention from the surrounding people in this city. Not as much attention as I expected it would though. But that's probably because I see a few other voidlings surrounding a building several dozen meters down the main street I'm on. With them all looking like they're guarding it or something. As for how I know they're voidlings even before identifying them despite them not looking like my voidling? They all just register in my mind as voidlings. Simple as that.
Plus they're made of that same shiny black carapace that my voidling and Seraphyne's are made of. Anyway, I go ahead and identify the six voidlings spread around the front entrance of that building. [Level 16 Voidling Worker] [Level 15 Voidling Worker] [Level 14 Voidling Worker] [Level 14 Voidling Worker] [Level 15 Voidling Worker] [Level 17 Voidling Worker] These are all stronger than my own voidling, but at the same time, they feel less… pure. Like they're lesser than it despite the higher level.
Are they lower on the hierarchy than my voidling since I directly made mine? And these don't seem to have been made by Seraphyne. Of course, the moment the voidlings sense my identify and look at me, they all immediately bow their heads in submission. Clearly recognizing me as their superior. Interesting. These particular voidlings are also insectoid in appearance, but they're a little more humanoid than my own. And they seem to have sapient minds as well.
Which makes it even more curious how they're beneath my voidling in the hierarchy despite mine not even having a sapient mind. Their identify result also marked them as voidling workers, which is something I haven't seen before. My gaze turns toward another voidling who steps outside of the building, seemingly noticing the other voidlings' actions. And when his gaze turns towards me, his eyes widen and he immediately kneels down on the ground with his head bowed.
What I find most curious about this particular voidling is the fact that he's completely humanoid. Just with sleek black carapace covering every inch of his body. He's also wearing clothes over it, but the clothes look slightly off when taking in his natural armor beneath it. Meanwhile his head is kind of like a cross between a human and a wasp. With pitch black orbs for eyes. I identify him before raising a brow.
[R'th'rexithal – Level 24 Voidling Void Ripper] This is the current fifth ranked user on the leaderboards. And he's actually a voidling. I didn't realize there were voidlings in the Tutorial as well. Anyway, I walk over towards him and the other voidlings before feeling slightly awkward as the fifth ranked declares, "R'th'rexithal here to serve the newborn Void Crowne." And he's not the only one as the other voidlings around him all begin making similar declarations.
Albeit in very non-human languages mixed with a lot of clicking that are automatically translated for me by the System. This feels weird. On another note, what's with the newborn thing? I'm most certainly not a newborn. I let out a sigh at that thought before stating, "Let's find a quieter place to speak. Rise to your feet."
"As you wish, Great One," the man rises to his feet while the other voidlings lift their heads.
"If it would please you, I know of a nearby location that may suit your needs, Great One." Something tells me I'm going to have to get used to being called by a large variety of titles from now on… Especially if the Void Empress remains as agreeable as she has been thus far. I proceed to follow the voidling whose name I will never be able to pronounce into an alley that leads out into a small open area of a couple dozen square meters in size.
With just a few tents set up and numerous other voidlings scattered around acting as security. Moving in a very stiff and insect-like manner. Until they see me and bow their heads like all the other voidlings I've met. None of these are quite as high in level as the previous voidlings I saw though. And not all of them have sapience. In fact, most of these are just drones without sapience. Like the one I made.
But what catches my eye the most is what I see inside of one of the tents when another humanoid voidling like the fifth ranked walks out. Because it's certainly not what I was expecting. I identify it before the tent flap closes. [Level 20 Voidling Broodmother] A broodmother? That certainly explains the numerous voidlings around here. But why don't these voidlings have classes and user identifications like the fifth ranked?
