Aidan During the battle, I made sure to keep an eye on the drakeling in case he tried to attack me or the others. But he never made a move to attack any of us and instead just attacked the wolf. So there should be a chance for him to-"Ey, you're that guy who beat me on the rankings, aren'cha?!" Snapjaw the First exclaims while pointing at me with a wide toothy grin on his face. All while I feel the words coming out of his mouth don't match what I'm hearing. As if they're being translated or something.
"Well ain't that somethin." I guess the System does auto-translations? Anyway, he seems rather friendly so far.
"That's me, yes," I answer while glancing at Jackson who is currently walking to the other side of the dead alpha wolf from the drakeling to begin extracting its leg bones. Clearly more interested in the bones than this third ranked user. Then I glance back at the drakeling as I ask, "And you're Snapjaw the First?" The drakeling waves his hand and says, "Just call me Snap! It's what all the worthy hunters I know call me!" Worthy… hunters?
"Okay, Snap," I say while glancing at the girls to find the two shy ones once again hiding behind Ali. With Henry still holding his bow and staring at the drakeling with more than a little caution in his posture.
"You too!" Snap says while looking straight at Henry, then at Ali.
"Both of you can call me Snap as well!" I can't help but notice that he seems to ignore the two girls hiding behind Ali and Jackson who is finishing up gathering the two leg bones. Treating them like air. Worthy hunters… Is he only friendly towards those he finds worthy? Even if that's the case, at least he doesn't seem antagonistic towards those he doesn't find worthy. I open my mouth to ask Snap if he wants part of the wolf corpse since he helped kill it, only for Snap to suddenly exclaim, "Well, gotta go!
Don want ma' kill streak comin' to an end!" And without another word or even a glance at the alpha wolf corpse, Snap rushes off. Leaving the clearing in seconds as we all stare blankly after him. Huh. I glance at Ali as I mutter, "I guess the whole body is ours?" Ali just shrugs in response. So I walk over to the corpse and begin absorbing its source mana. After that bizarre interaction and my source mana draining, we continue with our hunt.
Hunting for another couple days until all of us have our Tokens to continue onto the next floor. Then we all finally use our Tokens one after another. Since none of us feel particularly worried about not hitting Bronze Tier by the end of the Tutorial. Not when we're only on day thirteen of the twenty-eight days and all of us are around three quarters of the way to Bronze Tier or more. We just need to bring either the Profession or Class to level twenty-six to reach Bronze Tier.
And while bringing both to level twenty-six is good and required to reach Silver Tier later regardless of what level one of them reaches, it's not necessary right now. After using my Token, I once again find myself in that room with a single pathway and multiple messages going across my vision. ◊ Mission Complete ◊ Tutorial: Tower – Floor Two: Hunting Grounds Objectives: Slay at least one thousand monsters within the Hunting Grounds. Snap shot up to second, Jessica shot down to sixth, and the others all shifted as well. If I had to guess, it's a matter of their Class and Profession, and their focus. Since I know I saw some Profession focused people just working on leveling up their Profession to Bronze Tier instead of their Class while they were out in the forest. Just letting other people protect them for the creations they make. And certain Classes are better for the second floor than others. Like how Jessica is an assassin.
She does best against singular powerful foes. Not hunting down a vast number of weaker foes. So her results on the second floor were much worse than the first floor. Anyway, I take an hour to rest in the room before walking into the pathway to the third floor of the Tutorial Tower. Following which I immediately find myself in some empty void with nothing but faint black mist mixed with the occasional hint of violet. And a message in my vision.
◊ Mission Received ◊ Tutorial: Tower – Floor Three: Profession Apprenticeship Objectives: Receive the approval of your System selected Profession mentor. Should it be detected that the user's mentor is purposefully not approving the user without valid reason, the user will automatically be approved by the System to move onto the fourth floor. Reward: 10 Tutorial Points times the user's Profession Level when they leave the third floor. ◊ Now selecting the user's Profession mentor…
◊ ◊ One user detected within the multiverse with the same Profession. User is now being pulled into the floor to serve as your mentor. ◊ I grit my teeth slightly as I wait for her arrival. And it doesn't take long before I feel an immense amount of power suddenly appearing only about a dozen meters in front of me. The power is so great that I feel awe at her aura alone without even seeing her appearance yet. It's like looking directly at multiple suns at once.
At a being powerful enough to wipe out my planet with the wave of a hand. But just as quickly as it arrived, the immense power rapidly fades with nothing but a slight popping sound. Leaving me finally able to look at the source of the power. At the Empress of the Void Throne. The only other Void Crowne in existence looks rather human in appearance.
She has long black hair in a single braid going over her shoulder, with eyes just like mine that make me feel like I'm looking into a deep abyss that are also emitting a black mist, and a black and silver dress on. And also just like me, she has that same black mist rising from her body through her outfit. She's also emitting a sort of graceful yet mysterious atmosphere. One filled with immense power.
It takes me a moment to realize she's also sizing me up before her gaze eventually lands on my eyes and I think I see the slightest twitch of her lips upwards. But I might've imagined it. After a few seconds of staring into my eyes, the Void Empress eventually speaks, her voice echoing with immense power throughout the strange void around us that I'm beginning to think might literally be the void, "Let's begin the lessons, my kin."
