Today was the last day we'd all spend in Zana, the past few days were quite relaxed, we've spent most of our time preparing for the long trek back to Paradise. What that meant for the citizens of Zana, was John, Big Sis and Anna visiting shops and purchasing supplies from them. What they didn't know is that Big Sis already had everything we needed for our group to head back to Paradise. I was actually surprised when she told me this, since her Mana Storage wasn't big enough to store that much food and medicine.

Not to mention all of the items from Roseland Products that she keeps with her in case John wants to attract a new costumer. The reason they were shopping was because John wanted to give some money to the Townspeople that were most affected from the battle that night. He made it a point to walk into the shops that were badly damage from either being hit by the plants or burned from the fires that were spread all over the town. The faces of the Shop Owners as he entered their stores were quite something."

Alice, are you coming?" John called to me as he was being dragged, his expression was neutral, but I could tell from listening with my hearing that his pulse was quickening from Big Sis and Anna pulling him. In other words, he was a tiny bit embarrassed, and he was trying to alleviate it by talking to me." Of course!" I began to walk beside them as we made our way through Zana for the last time.

The reason for John's uncomfortable feeling was because I volunteered to "work" as the Bodyguard for the Drake, but actually the "Ericsson" Family for today. John wanted all of his Guards as well as Ellie and Wendy to have a day off to rest and recharge before we left Zana. He actually wanted them to have 3 days off, but this was met with quite the resistance from the Guardsmen and Wendy. Ellie, on the other hand, was all for it.

It was only when John mentioned that he would be spending the time going around with his wives, buying supplies in town, Ellie went from being on John's side to joining the Servants in a heartbeat. Eventually, the argument boiled down to John saying that he had technically taken the few days after he found that creepy basement to rest. He more or less only really spent time with Big Sis and Anna, with him bringing that up, the Servants eventually agreed to today being their only day off.

Matthew decided to take the deal they offered in the end. As a Princess, it was quite strange to watch as the High-Ranking Noble gave into what could only be called the selfishness of his Servants. I've never seen something like that happen before. Big Sis and Anna stopped me from bringing up how disrespectful it was for the Servants to act like that, before I could, Big Sis stopped me by placing her hand on my shoulder and she spoke to me." Working tirelessly on the ground, hunting and farming with his people, never missing a day. Watching as he slowly, but surely, changes the ghost town we inhabited, into a treasure trove they we're lucky to be a part of. Generous salaries with benefits, such as being able to slowly buy ownership of a home from the town, mandatory rest days, building new homes, schools, replacing the old worn walls and roads, it goes on and on, Alle. They watched him, slowly improve their lives and their children's lives every day.

He's not selfish and demanding like how most Nobles dealing with their Servants are. From that, a sense of Loyalty in them emerged without him even truly trying. And now, we've gotten to this point. And now the one who tirelessly works for their benefit, is telling them to take time off.

So yes, they're being selfish, but they choose the correct time to do it, this is why Anna and I usually don't offer much resistance to it. Big Sis smiled warmly at the picture that she no doubt would be seeing in a few hours. I looked over at the culprit of that smile and I can already see Anna barely being able to hold back a smile behind her proper attitude as a High-Ranking Noblewoman." I felt my heart start to beat faster looking at it, I almost wanted to look away, but it was such a rare sight that my eyes were glued to his lips.

Big Sis and Anna were looking at me with knowing smiles like they understood everything that John was saying and how I felt, but I was still a bit lost... Is this the gap I need to close in order to gain his interest? I'll need to talk to the Alliance about it. All I know is that I want to be an integral part of that future that makes him smile like that. And if I could be selfish... I'd like to make him smile at me like that... And our future kids too...
