" We need to find an opening! It's probably some type of manipulation of a material that's inside his body, like those B-Class Monsters, Bone Warriors!"" We just need to find the right moment to strike, the issue is that we're running out of stamina... And mana. We need to do something fast and make it count!" Count Sark spoke and then I added my own thoughts on top of it. Thankfully, the answer to our dilemma came with a nice sound. /WHOOSH!
/ A fireball flew ahead of the 4 of us, Lady Kina obviously decided it was time to launch a Spell." Fool!" The God Of The Blackwood's spikes on his left arm stood up instead of being bent and then began to spin, tearing the flesh from his body as the fireball approached. Eventually, the spinning made a strong flow of air that was able to slow the fireball down enough for him to dodge the fireball. Regardless of the fact he was able to stop the fireball from landing, we all moved forward to attack. Kick! /Clunk.
Clang! Thump! CLANG! / We all attack, and we're all blocked by him, the spikes have shifted and changed to fit whatever defensive need he has. It almost seems automatic." Like I said, you're all below me!" He yells. /Whoosh! / Pressure! Push! He blows us all away with the power of his mana, we move back around 10 feet and we're back at where we started." Your ends are beginning. Don't you all understand that!? Why not just accept it!?" He shouts, but no one is buying it, we know he's weakening."
Why not accept the obvious yourself!? You're close to defeat and you know it!" Lady Kina shouts at him, it looks like she took that whole tongue comment to heart, who can blame her? Remembering that seemed to make Count Sark even angrier than before." Wait, Phil!" / Thump! / Count Tye called to him, but Count Sark didn't listen, he ran and attacked the enemy, only to be blocked again.
"!" Kick! I noticed that the God Of The Blackwoods raised his arm, I immediately jumped into action before he attacked Count Sark. While he was weakened, that didn't mean that our enemy wasn't harmless. I aimed a kick to the arm that was raised so I could stop Count Sark from being injured. Kick! /Clunk! / My kick was stopped again, but it stopped him from landing on Count Sark. /Clang! Clang! Clang! / Count Gorse supported me and attacked the God Of The Blackwoods while he was focused on us.
Count Gorse aimed for the God's chest, but again, the spikes defended for him. I'm beginning to understand why he decided to use them, they're quite problematic to deal with. /Whoosh! Clunk! / A ball of ice went between Count Sark and I's heads and slammed into the head of the God. With that moment, we were able to back away again to a safe distance." No more losing our minds! We need to stay focused!" I admonish the Sark Couple as they seemed to be the ones that were the most hot blooded.
Hell, Alice was slowly waiting for the perfect moment to launch an attack through an opening from our attacks. I can't let anyone risk injury right now, since I don't know how long John will take calming down Sarah's rage. Without knowing the answer to that, since she was in a rage like no other I've witnessed, I needed to keep everyone from being injured as best as I can. The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement."
Why not let them get hurt then attack him when he thinks he finally has an advantage, Anna?" The Goddess of Water chimed in with her thoughts, but I wasn't a fan of them. Just thinking about it in terms of what has happened so far, we've all done our best work against him as teammates rather than trying to attack him by ourselves." You know we can't do that." I speak to the Goddess of Water in my mind, she seemed to have taken umbrage with my words." Well, you need to do something!
If not, he's just going to pick you all off one by one! He's going to continue to pick at your minds until he makes you slip up. He's already trying to needle a wedge between your team and that big oaf. He's already succeeded, considering your husband had to reattach his whole arm."" Now, now, Rivvy, she already realizes all of that, why do you think she's been stressing that they need to work together. But the mortals will make their own decisions at the end of the day.
Anna, you should really take the reins instead of just shouting support and strategic advice. Lords know that Princess is already accepting being a solider only. With that, you'll need to show some of that Nobility you've gained after becoming a Marquess's Wife!" The Goddess of Nature offered me her own advice, while I'd like to take it, I doubt I'd have the time to really put most of it into practice.
Count Sark seems to understand that he just messed up quite badly, I expect that he'll rein himself in for the next few exchanges. That'll be for the best." What would you have us do, Lady Anna? Your mana hurts him, doesn't it? Would you like us to make an opening? Our attacks... They might leave you a bit wanting... Considering that we're all on our last legs, but it should be enough to at the very least grab his attention. He's been defending every attack we all tried to hit him with, he's fearful.
We know that for a good fact." Count Gorse offered an idea, I was tempted to go with it, since it was what I was also thinking of. I didn't want them to try any self-sacrificing ploys however. With that, I nodded my head and began to explain that one crucial point to them quickly." Fine, we'll go with that plan, Count Gorse. However, do not try to sacrifice yourselves for a chance at landing an attack or creating a diversion for me.
My Husband healed you both for a reason, he didn't do it just for you both to either injure yourselves or die here. Do you understand?" With a nod of their heads, both Count Gorse and Count Sark walked forward, Alice followed behind them while trying to eliminate her presence so she could land her own attack. I began to move to the left of them as I looked for my moment." Finally, you all walk forward. But should I just stay here? I wonder?"
He smiled wickedly at the incoming forces, it didn't matter as the attacks began to pour in. / Clang! Clang! Clunk! / Count Gorse and Count Sark's combination attacks seemed to flow smoothly, to the point where I wondered if Alice and I's involvement in fighting with them hindered more than helped them." Hahaha! You both really think you're well enough to cause a diversion? Such simpletons."
Again, he tries to make snide remarks and attempt to make us lose our spirits, but Count Gorse and Count Sark ignore him and continue their barrage. /Clang! Clunk! Clang! Clunk! / More and more attacks piled up against the God, but his spikes never so much as made a sound to suggest they would crack under the pressure... That and his eyes stayed focused on the area around him in case of our surprise attack.
It mattered little, since there were 2 people attempting to do it and it was obvious which one he was more concerned about. And it seemed that Alice had the same thought as me about taking advantage of that fact. While he traded attacks with the 2 Counts, the God kept his eyes mostly on the grounds that were in front of me. With that, he left a horrible opening, only made worse by the sounds I heard coming from my right side. /Woosh! Woosh! BOOM!
/ A fireball empowered by a gust of wind took aim at the body of the God we were fighting. And with his arms occupied with fighting back against the Counts, the attack was able to land, with a giant explosion following it. With that, we waited for the smoke to clear. We all knew this fight was far from over. We could only hope we've made some dents or cracks form on those spikes that he uses as a weapon and armor.
Eventually, the smoke did clear and we were all disappointed to find him still standing and looking as if nothing had changed." What's the matter, maggots? You thought that would be it? Really, I've grown tired of this." /Thoom! / Again, the sound I've grown used to hearing to the point of hurting my ears, has degraded to something that barely tickled my ears. His teleport seemed to grow weaker, but what it lacked in impact, it seemed to still have enough umph in its speed.
He disappeared and reappeared in front of Lady Kina and Lady Diana. We all began to run after him." Now then, let's have a stop to all that bothersome Magic, shall we!?" He raised his fist again, but no one was in striking distance, we only rushed hoping that somehow someway, he would slow down or be interrupted. One of those hopes were answered in an unfortunate way. /SHING! SPLOOSH! /" Ahh!"" What a foolish child."" Ed!"
Screams came from behind and ahead of me as Count Tye stood in front of Lady Diana and took a slash from that lance on the right hand of the God Of The Blackwoods. He fell to the ground and without missing a beat, the God raised his hand again." Now then, no more interruptions should be here in time, at least for you." He spoke with sadistic glee as he raised his arm again towards Lady Diana. We all prayed for something to stop him or at least slow him down. We ran, but we were all fatigued.
A distance that would have taken us a second to cross, now took 10. We prayed to make it, to stop it. To end it. One of those prayers were thankfully answered. /THUMP! BANG! WOOSH! CRASH! /" Not today, you son of a bitch!" Appearing like lightening to us, John and Sarah each landed a punch on the Evil God while moving extremely fast. Sarah landed her punch to the right side of the God's chest and John landed his square on his jaw. The God flew away from them both and smashed into a tree only around 10 feet away.
With their arrival, everyone was here now. I could hear everyone around me breathe a sigh of relief as we continued to run to them.
