" You!!!!" /THUMP! / With a kick, the God Of The Blackwoods sent Sarah flying again, her Mana Spears that pierced his limbs were still there, 2 in each leg and 1 in his right arm were resting in place. The black robe he wore became wet with his blood. Now there were holes in it that showed his ghastly white skin. As for Sarah, she preformed a backflip in mid-air using the mana spears as a platform and landed safely.
Her clothes, which were what she wore while sparring, were slightly dirty, but other than that, she only seemed a little fatigued. As I switched my focus back to the God Of The Blackwoods, I noticed that Sarah's Mana Spears that were still gouged in his body began to shake minutely. /POP! CLANG! / And then they were gone from his body, all 5 of them had fallen to the ground. I was surprised. Even more so when I saw that tiny black plants had pushed them out of the wounds that they were stuck in.
The black plants poked out of his wounds like tiny spikes before receding back inside his body like tiny animals into burrows. /RUMBLE! CRACK! SWOOSH! / With the plants now in his body, before he began to bleed out, parts of the black trees that were around us began to crack and shake terribly. Without delay, parts of the trees broke away from them and began to float towards the God Of The Blackwoods. The floating pieces... They... They turned from solid wood into what looked like black fluid.
The speed of this "liquid" began to pick up. It then began to fill in the wounds on his body that Sarah's Mana Spears had left only a few moments ago. Then the wounds... They just... Returned to normal. Like the injuries never happened." You'll pay for that! Do you hear me, you bitch!?"" RAAARRHHHHH!" Sarah just screamed at him. Her Mana Sears returned to encircle her. They began to spin and fly all around her like wasps circling a bee's nest. /BOOOM!
/ And then Sarah jumped back into the fray, against the God that seemed rejuvenated almost. But something was apparent about him. 2 things had changed after he had "healed" himself. The first was that his breathing had become more ragged. The 2nd was that- /CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! / A ferocious assault by Sarah interrupted my thoughts as the next clash began without me even being able to see who attacked first.
Sarah attacked, not only with her single halberd, but even the other 12 spears that were flying all around her took their turns attacking all at random intervals. Since someone like me, a person whose trained in Martial Arts all my life can't find a pattern to the attacks, I knew the God Of The Blackwoods was even more lost... And because of this, the frustration seemed to grow even stronger than before for him." Hahahaha! Kill... Kill! I'll Kill YOU!"
The screams of our enemy reminded me where my thoughts had been interrupted. The 2nd change was simply that his anger had continued to grow. With both of them acting this way now, I'm not quite sure which person was the one in a Berserk Rage. One person had begun screaming "I'll kill you!" over and over again and on the other side... Well." RAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" They were screaming their head off as they began the next round of their fight. / CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
/ One after another, they clashed their weapons and dodged when they couldn't block with their weapons, many of the attacks had each of them dodging by the skin of their teeth. Admittedly, I grew fascinated with Sarah's movements as the battle between them progressed. I could see elements that have always been a part of her elegant movement during combat, a sign that Aunt Aqua had truly did her best in training Sarah back when we were kids, but now, there's something new... Something wild, powerful... Deadly.
She was so familiar to my eyes, yet so different at the same time. It made me wonder what had happened to change her in such a short amount of time to make her like this? Her Berserk Rage from earlier in the night was more like a wild wounded animal, but now... /CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! / The Mana Spears and her halberd danced alongside each other like it was the most natural thing in the world. She was even pushing the God Of The Blackwoods back with her strikes.
This was a sign of the damage she was able to inflict, even though he healed himself, it must've cost him some amount of mana to do so, his stamina seemed to be draining ever so slightly with each attack Sarah attempted to land on him. Even with the pitiful display he's shown during this exchange of Sarah's wild Spearmanship and his lacking Swordsmanship, I felt no pity towards him. In fact, I hoped he would continue to weaken. That would make the killing blow come easier and sooner.
Whether that was landed by Sarah or myself, I thought it didn't really matter, so long as this nightmare could finally be over. /CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! / This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. It almost seemed like Sarah agreed with me as her swipes of her halberd and spears grew more and more ferocious." You..." Despite the way the word seethed out of his mouth, the God Of The Blackwoods didn't truly appear to be a threat at the moment.
Sarah just continued to hack away at him, waiting to land another blow on him. Her Mana Spears continue to increase their spinning speed to the point where they're beginning to buzz like winged insect Monsters before slamming or thrusting themselves at the enemy's body. Each of them spins, attacks with the momentum of the spin, which stops the momentum of the spear dead in its tracks. Once the attack is either blocked or misses its target, it returns to the spinning pattern that it originally had been doing.
The Warrior in me couldn't help but notice that the movements of the spears were still somewhat awkward, but I wondered what it would be like if Sarah could use it while she was in control of herself. /CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! / I think it's because of that awkwardness that Sarah can't land the decisive blow in this fight. And it seems like I wasn't the only one who came to that conclusion. Both of the fighters seemed to have realized it in their own way. However, some were more... Obnoxious about it than others."
Hahaha! What can you do when even your "brilliant" little tricks don't work!? Even if you think you can harm me, this forest... MY FOREST will heal me! You've lost any chance of beating me the moment I summoned this place! Your time has come! And it starts.... With..... THIS!" /SHING! CRACK! CLANG! / In between the time it took for a Mana Spear to restart it's spinning, the God Of The Blackwoods countered Sarah with a devastating attack.
Thankfully, she blocked the attack, but her halberd broke under the strength of the destructive sword strike of her opponent." See, You're all beneath me! I exist on a higher plane compared to you, filthy mortal! And you'll all realize that in your dying breaths! Now take your death in-" /THUMP! THUD! / Sarah's rage grew even greater as she dropped the halberd that had now been broken into 2 pieces.
it seemed her anger couldn't be contained anymore, either from her understanding what her enemy was saying or at the breaking of something she viewed as hers. Either way, she launched herself from her position and slammed a fist full of chaotic purple and black mana into the God Of The Blackwood's nose. /SWOOSH! BANG! / A slam into a black tree stopped the God from flying even further backwards." Why you!"
Again, his anger boiled over, no doubt from a combination of being interrupted while giving his "big" speech and the fact that Sarah continued to land blows against him despite breaking her weapon. The Mana Spears, which had been spinning like automated wheels, suddenly stopped. They then lined up behind Sarah as if they were Archers, just waiting to be ordered to nock, draw and loose. /WOOSH! SMASH!
/ Just as that thought crossed my mind, the spears flew from Sarah like arrows into the air and attacked the God Of The Blackwoods without mercy. Each spear missed, but it served to keep the God off balance. Again, for some reason, their fight has brought itself back to me. I slyly moved away from where they were, while still remaining somewhat close, so as to observe what happens next and wait for that elusive chance." None of this will save you! You're only delaying the inevitable!"
With those words that were screamed from his throat, the God Of The Blackwoods charged forward at Sarah while her spears were all recoiling from being thrown. it was a reckless decision not to keep at least 1 with her, and now it seems that our enemy wants to make her pay. /SHING! SCREECH! / A sword strike aimed to split Sarah in half was coming towards her, I rushed forward since I was sure she would die. Instead, what had happened was that the Mana Spears had teleported themselves back to Sarah.
I have no idea how it happened, but they did. They took a defensive X formation to protect Sarah's body from that sickeningly black and green blade. A loud screeching sound had exploded from the spears as each of them made contact with the sword, and each were seemingly destroyed by it. The force of the swing even knocked Sarah onto her back on the ground. This opportunity was not lost on the enemy." Finally! This is the end, Trash!" He raised his sword with a gleeful smile on his face.
However, he was too focused on Sarah. That was his biggest mistake during this fight. Because I had already canceled Gecko Walk and I had made quite loud footsteps as I ran towards them. Since I was already running towards him and he didn't notice me, I decided that this was the moment I was looking for." Fang Of The Blade Wolf!" TENSE! STRONG! GRIP! GRIP!
I call the name for one of my strongest Attacking Skills and I feel the familiar feeling as my body grows lighter and my muscles began to constrict like a coiled spring. The blood red aura that had calmed itself, roared as if it were a great inferno as each step I took grew the heat in my chest to the point of bursting. I gripped both of my swords that were still bathed in the mana that Anna had given to my swords." What!?"
He finally noticed me even though I was already within striking distance, he was too late to do anything about it however. The bloodlust I kept buried exploded out from me and I could tell that the smile I wore matched more a wild beast than a Princess of Bestia, but I didn't care. Swing! / CLANG! / My first sword strike from my right hand blade slammed into the armor that he was so proud of for all of this time. /RUMBLE! BOOOM! WOOSH!
/ Loud sounds echoed all around to the point that my ears had begun to ring from the explosive sounds from hitting the armor... No, hitting is the wrong word, destroying is. What was left of his armor had been completely peeled off of him from the strength of my sword swing, like peeling off dead skin after a hot bath. But that wasn't the last attack for me after all of this time of sitting and waiting. Swing!" SHING! CLANG! CRACK! CLANG!"
"!?" I swing my left hand sword and complete the goal I originally hid to accomplish, I cut that hideous sword in half. Sure, it also broke my sword as well, but it was a worthy sacrifice. A look of surprise appeared on the God's face as he couldn't believe that his sword was snapped clean in half. I smiled at him as I was sure that with my 2 sword strikes, I brought us a giant step closer to finally beating him. Twitch!
"!" THROW!
"?" Kick! Before I could truly enjoy my small victory, a strange new sound caused my ears to twitch. I quickly threw my broken sword at our enemy and with the time that brought me, I rushed to grab Sarah from the ground, but she was already gone, I jumped back to clear the area before I was caught up in what ever was coming. /RUMBLE! SHING! / Something broke out of the ground and what seemed like a viscous black and green liquid completely encased the God Of The Blackwoods.
