Why is the world on fire?
→ [CauldronBro: Bin, you dundering fool!] → [✪Potions Are Easy: Newbie… This was extremely dangerous.] → [Juxtaps: Bin… Please think a little next time.] → [HomunculusTheBest: You got extremely lucky, Bin.] → [Love Fusion Mix Hands: Cutie… I can't help you this time. You were truly foolish this time.] What!? What did I do wrong? The potions worked and the goblins died, didn't they? … [Officially The Best Alchemist On Earth] Author: BinLover Victory! No sweat, I knew from the start that my potion would work!
Almost fell asleep waiting for the floor to end tbh. (Video of floor clear) Got a sweet reward for this too. Drinks on me tonight! → [EfficiencyLord: …] → [ObsidianTier: …] → [CauldronBro: Bin, you dundering fool!] CauldronBro—Or Cadell—sighed as he watched the video BinLover posted. He felt extremely worried about them. It wasn't just him who was feeling this way. All the other members of the gallery had similar thoughts. Yes, Bin's potion was made surprisingly well.
It wouldn't have been surprising for them to concoct something with half the power it had, in fact, most of them thought that would happen. Yet, Bin made a potion with as much explosive power as the materials used allowed. That's impressive. They even felt a little proud seeing the newbie's talent in brewing potions. But that's where it ends. The video started with five goblins materializing just over 50 meters away from Bin.
She patiently waited until the goblins came within 20 meters and then threw the explosive potions at them and ducked. This was immediately were everyone sighed and even felt anxious. Bin trusted their potion too much. For starters, they didn't need to use two separate vials for that explosive potion. But, they'll get a pass for that since they were just being safe. It would've been better for them to mix the two liquids and then throw it. Second, Bin threw the potions and immediately hid behind the rock.
They didn't plan or prepare for what would happen if the potions failed or they survived. Which brings up the most important point. The video showed that Bin was standing on plains—Or fields of grass. Unless the vials used to contain the potions are extremely weak, the chance that they'd shatter on impact was low. Bin truly got lucky that the potions hit the spearhead and head of a goblin, otherwise, they might not have been alive. So, it was only natural that the alchemy gallery members were angry and concerned.
And they laid it onto Bin. Pointing out these specific reasons and warned them to be more careful in the future. → [CauldronBro: Haah… But I'm glad you're alright. I'm sorry if we sounded a little harsh, but just please be careful in the future, none of us want you to get hurt.] …
"Haah… Tch." I clicked my tongue and jutted my lips before closing the gallery. It felt like all the joy had sapped out of me. Would a little congratulations be hard? Those stupid naggers… Whatever… I shook my head to rid myself of the distracting thoughts. Rather than wasting my time complaining, I needed to gather materials while I had the time.
[Time Remaining on floor: 55: 18] I didn't know exactly what was usable in the forest except for Opara grass, but I planned to collect any and everything that may be useful in future potions. Maybe I should ask the… No, those guys will just complain again anyways.
"Hm…No, why am I acting like this?" I pressed my palm to my forehead. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it. I felt extremely irritated for some reason. I knew logically that they were just worried about me, but emotionally I couldn't contain my annoyance.
"Deep breath…"
"Haah…" I stopped myself from venting on the gallery and kicked the dirt beneath me instead.
"Right, let's relax. Calm, I'm calm now." Heading into the forest, I kept an eye out for possible materials. There was Opara grass almost everywhere. Next time I visit, I should bring a backpack or two. The problem would be with storage, but that's nothing a little bit of points can't solve. Rather than the overly abundant Opara grass, I looked for herbs and mushrooms. Though not stored in my material knowledge trait, I still knew what various materials looked like and their effects.
"Oh?" I stopped and stared at a white mushroom. It looked similar to a giant puffball—a big white ball—but with the addition of red and black lines circling the head. The system confirmed my suspicion. [Giant Huffpall] Rank - C A rare mushroom found in temperate forests. * This mushroom is poisonous.
"Lucky me!" I smiled. This material could be used to make poison or antidotes. From what I remember, it's mainly an amplifier that could work either way.
"How do I store it again though…" I pondered for a moment before inevitably opening up the gallery. Ignoring the posts and comments, I searched for the material.
"Right, I can just plant it in some soil as long as it's separated from other poisonous materials." Since it wasn't toxic to the touch, I cleanly used my dagger to dig up the soil itself around the mushroom and held it in my hand. [Time Remaining on floor: 24: 53] It really did take a while to find something useful. There were some other materials I found before the mushroom, but those were all E rank or below—Or cheap on the exchange.
With the huffpall in hand, I continued searching for another material but ended up finding nothing useful. [Time Remaining on floor: 5: 48] Instead of continuing to search until the last second, I wanted to experiment more with my remaining dynokali potions. Heading back to the plains, I held the dynokali components in my hand.
"Hup!" I tossed the two liquids and ducked behind a rock. Even after waiting thirty seconds, there was no explosion. Carefully peeking over the rock, I spotted the potions sitting on the luscious grass, unbroken.
"…" I jutted my lips as I went to pick them up. Just as my alchemist friends said, I got lucky. Even before this experiment I realized that. Yet, I still felt annoyed with them.
"Haah…" I'll forgive them tomorrow. Let me be moody for today. Heading back to the boulder, I unscrewed both caps. The akikali juice smelt like cactus mixed with oil while the denomyl liquid smelt like copper or metal.
"Pour in and throw…" I took several deep breaths. They claimed that I had enough time to do that and even if the bottles didn't break, it'd still explode. I compared it to a grenade—pull the pin and it'll explode ten seconds later. But if I messed up somewhere, wouldn't I just explode the moment I combined the two? My hands shook. As much as I trusted the alchemist gallery, I couldn't stop my nerves.
"Pour and throw…Pour and throw." I gulped.
"Haah…Let me just double check." Screwing the caps back on, I opened the gallery. To my surprise, a new post had been made. [Better way to use Akikali Juice + Denomyl Liquid] Author: CauldronBro The video showed someone combining the two liquids into one bottle—they even used the same type of bottles I used—then, they closed the cap and shook it.
"As long as you don't freely expose it to a mass amount of oxygen at once, it won't randomly explode." A man said.
"When you want to use it, you can simply untwist the cap and spray the liquid out like this. Make sure you re-twist the cap back on or throw the bottle away." A few seconds later, a chain of explosions formed a line wherever the liquid landed.
"This'll create smaller explosions but more manageable ones." He combined another two liquids, "If you want a bigger explosion, simply throw the bottle with the cap off." BOOM! An explosion comparable to the one I made shook the screen.
"The more liquid there is condensed, the bigger the explosion. Or…" He opened a bottle of akikali juice and poured it over the ground, forming a small puddle.
"You can set out the akikali juice before hand and then toss the denomyl liquid in it. Like a trap." He showed a bottle with a small amount of liquid in it before throwing it onto puddle. BOOM!
"The explosion will be as big as the amount of akikali juice you use, but the power will be significantly less based on how much denomyl liquid you add." As if to show the difference, a big crater was formed from one explosion and a small one from the other, despite having the same size.
"There's other ways to use this, but you should experiment yourself. And, please don't be too mad at us, you really did do a good job creating the potions. It was using them that was the problem." The video ended.
"Haah…" I sighed and left a curt comment. I hadn't forgiven them today just yet, but I'm magnanimous enough to give proper thanks when it's due. → [BinLover: … Thanks.] Quickly closing the gallery, I didn't wait for a reply. Now that I had a video tutorial of how to use it, I was confident I wouldn't mess up. Opening both caps, I poured the denomyl liquid into the akikali bottle, closed the cap and shook it.
Part of me was worried that I might just explode at any moment, but another part of me said that if that happened, I wouldn't even realize it and would just die instantly. At least it'd be painless. Thankfully, that didn't happen. The two liquids mixed together, creating a grayish-orange color.
"Wow… This is the thing that could end me in an instant." Just looking at the bottle, you wouldn't expect it. If you did, you'd probably guess poison or some weird method. Certainly not explosions. I felt like one of those assassins from a medieval fantasy novel—"Just slip this into their drink and they'll die within hours." Then it suddenly just explodes! [Dynokali Potion] Grade - B Creator: Raccoon An explosive liquid that detonates when exposed to a large amount of natural air.
The system had actually finally classified it too! No more did I have to lie about their name.
"Grade B…?" My eyes widened as I read the description. I had actually brewed a rank B potion. If I combined every raw material used in this potion together, the highest rank would be the rank D Kosmo Oil. So it went from Rank D to Rank C to Rank B! Who says materials are the important part of creating potions!? I can make Rank B potions with measly rank D ingredients!
"Hehe!" I giggled, losing myself in delusions for a moment.
"Haah…Fine, I'll forgive them."
"Just for today."
"Hehe…" [Time Remaining on floor: 1: 28] The clock snapped me back to reality. I should try using the completed potion while I'm at it. … [Returning.] In a blink of an eye, I went from the plains back to my bathroom. Face to face with the mirror.
"…Ew!" My hair was a mess and my clothes were dirty. Small debris fell to the floor…This was terrible. I didn't realize how bad I looked in the tower. And that was the quickest I got undressed and into the shower. …
"Haah…" I flopped onto my bed wearing a raccoon onesie. Today had really been eventful—Though it's only been a few hours. But, I felt like I went through six years of life in those few hours. I needed a long, relaxing break. I also needed to think about future potions to sell and make. A calming potion may be nice, I got a little too freaked out in there. Turning on my phone, I decided to check the awakener gallery for the first time in a while. [Raccoon, please read this.] [Anyone know what kind of potion Raccoon used?] [Join the Productionist guild Raccoon!] [Anyone know what guild Raccoon belongs too?] [Raccoon, please contact your local tower association immediately.] [Anyone know Raccoon's nationality?] Huh… Why is the world on fire?
