Chương 5: More Potions!
World's Cutest Alchemist · drava · 71 chương · ~21 phút đọc · Tạo 31/07/2026
Yesterday, I spent a lot of time thinking of how I could climb the tower. But the answer was way more simple than I thought it would be. I just need to make more potions. I'm an alchemist after all. For reference, I did ask how my alchemist friends fought too. [How do you fight?] Author: BinLover For context, there's a tower in my dimension, we have to climb the tower to gain skills and traits. The tower is floor-based, and we have to fight monsters on each floor, they get stronger the higher the floor.
For the first floor, I'll have to fight 5 goblins. The only problem is I'm extremely weak! I can't even lift an iron sword ㅠㅠ So, I'm asking, how do you guys fight against monsters? → [SlimeLube: I have a lot of slime familiars that overwhelm the enemy. Should I teach you how to tame slime?] → [Juxtaps: Tower-based growth? That sounds interesting. Anyways, aren't you overthinking it? You're not a warrior but an alchemist, just throw potions at them.] → [Love Fusion Mix Hands: Aw, cutie, that's a cute worry. You can't even lift an iron sword? How small must you be…] ↳ [BinLover:;;] → [HomunculusTheBest: I fight with homunculus. They're reliable and can always be by your side. They're as strong as you make them and loyal.] → [Meditation Is Medicine: Your mind must be weak, come learn meditation and you'll grow stronger.] → [EfficiencyLord: Magic is the most efficient means of elimination. A quick and simple magic missile can take down most weak enemies.] → [ObsidianTier: Hand-to-hand combat. If I'm fighting someone strong, I'll drink an iron skin potion.] → [✪Potions Are Easy: Whatever feels the most comfortable to you is how you should fight. Everyone has their own experiences that molded them into who they are. I recommend trying out a lot of different methods until you find one you like the most.] → [CauldronBro: Posted a few recipes you may be interested in, they're cheap and related to combat.] ↳ [BinLover: Thanks CauldronBro.] ↳ [Love Fusion Mix Hands: Thank me too!] Yeah, no need to over-complicate things. I just need to throw potions at the enemy til they're dead. I can research and learn my own recipes later, for now, I'll just use recipes from the gallery. [Simple Combat Potions] Author: CauldronBro These are the potions I'd recommend for combat use at your level, they're cheap and effective. Self Buffs ~ ~ ~ Ironskin Potion - Hardens the drinker's skin, able to block simple attacks. Painkiller - Numbs pain. Concentration Potion - Makes you focus better.
Reaction Speed Potion - Increased your perception and reaction speed. Agility Potion - Boosts your speed. Strength Potion - Boosts your strength. Enemy Debuffs ~ ~ ~ Blindness Potion - Disables sight when comes in contact with eyes. Gluetrap Potion - Extremely sticky, once stepped on it becomes hard to move. Ranged Attack Methods ~ ~ ~ Akikali Juice + Denomyl Liquid - In simple terms you can think of Akikali juice as the fuel or reactive base.
Denomyl liquid is the reagent, when combined with Akikali juice it creates a volatile compound that detonates when exposed to air. These are extremely simple and basic potions that I'd recommend for beginner alchemists. When you become a bit more skillful, use these as a base and create your own advanced and better potions. → [BinLover: Wow! There's a lot to unpack here!! Thank you! I'm interested in that explosion potion, hehe…] ↳ [Juxtaps: Out of everything there… You latched onto the most dangerous one?] ↳ [Love Fusion Mix Hands: … My cutie might be a little dangerous?] ↳ [Meditation Is Medicine: Your mind is corrupt, do some meditation so you can do better.] ↳ [EfficiencyLord: … It certainly may be the fastest method of eliminating a pack of goblins.] ↳ [SlimeLube: If you add slime to it, you can make a sticky explosion!] ↳ [BinLover: That sounds wrong.] The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
↳ [Love Fusion Mix Hands: @SlimeLube Don't teach my baby disgusting stuff!] Truly, all of those potions sounded both useful and interesting. But my eye kept getting drawn to the very last one, Akikali juice and Denomyl liquid. I mean, causing an explosion? That sounds so cool! It reminds me of homemade molotovs you can create with alcohol and a rag. The only downside was that it didn't roll off the tongue. Like, I could say "Tossing a molotov!"
and it'd come out smoothly, but if I tried to say "Throwing akikali juice and denomyl liquid!" it just doesn't sound right.
"I guess I can just say 'Throwing a bomb'." I mumbled. [Akikali Juice and Denomyl Liquid recipe] Author: CauldronBro Please be extremely careful when creating this, newbie. One mistake and you might cause an explosion. Akikali Juice To make Akikali juice you need to distill Kosmo oil. Kosmo oil is made up of a bunch of different hydrocarbons… (Omitted) You'll end up with multiple different fractions of Kosmo oil… (Omitted) Then just collect the Akikali liquid itself and store it in an airtight container.
Denomyl Liquid To make denomyl liquid, you'll first need to heat up copper carbonate until it becomes copper oxide, this is called thermal decomposition… (Omitted) You'll need to combine the three liquids to create a compound… (Omitted) Then add ash powder into it, it should dissolve into the liquid. This is called a solution… (Omitted) And when you're finally finished, you'll be left with a red liquid called Denomyl Liquid. As it is now, it's safe to touch but not consume.
Only when you use it as a reagent does it become extremely dangerous. If you have the equipment, you can combine the denomyl liquid and akikali juice together in one container, but be warned, if it's exposed to too much oxygen, it will detonate and explode. 50 ML bottle for the akikali juice and 10 ml bottle for the denomyl liquid. Total creation time should be around 2 hours.
"Wow…" It took me over an hour to read through the post. And I still don't get it. I mean, what kind of words are those!? Hydrocarbons, thermal decomposition…? What are you even talking about!? Where are the pictures!?
"Haah…" As much as I'll complain about it, the thought of freely making explosions sounded too cool to pass up. Also, from hereon forth, I've decided on a name for the potion I'll create. Dynokali. Cool, right? Anyways, the materials needed to create both liquids were way more expensive than I thought. It took 40, 000 points to create akikali juice and 65, 000 points to make denomyl liquid. 105, 000 points and it'd give me enough materials to make 50 dynokali potions... Is that a good deal?
And after seeing a gallery post of CauldronBro using the potion, I immediately bought the materials. No, because I've lit a lot of fireworks before for the fourth of July. And even the literal dynamite I lit didn't cause an explosion that big. A single one of those potions could easily take out a group of goblins. The next problem came with the equipment. As much as I wanted to use my reliable stove and pan for this, that was simply impossible.
And the equipment on the exchange was too expensive since they were items that had effects. So, I had to order everything from the internet. Thankfully it all came relatively quickly—around 3 hours later. In that time, I reread the post a couple times and CauldronBro provided pictures of the step-by-step process. I really am a visual learner. It looks so much more doable now. After setting everything on my counter, I noticed a complete lack of space. My kitchen simply wasn't big enough for this.
"Hm…Well, it'll work for now." That was a problem for later me.
"Let's see…I need to distill the Kosmo oil first…" …
"Is this right…?" I tilted my head looking at the products. Six hours later I had both akikali juice and dynomyl liquid in separate vials. It took longer than the estimated time because I wanted to be extra careful and reread each step as I did it. [Akikali Juice] Grade C Creator: Raccoon A carefully made chemical mixture. [Dynomyl Liquid] Grade C Creator: Raccoon A carefully made chemical compound.
"Hehe!" I smiled at the item descriptions. If this wasn't proof that I succeeded, I don't know what was. Despite it taking a while, it was a fun process; There were many worrying points, like when the dynomyl liquid suddenly started to bubble after adding the gynomo liquid, or when the akikali juice spilt onto counter, but alls well that ends well! I wanted to share my joy with the gallery, but, true to my nature, I needed to humble brag! [Did I do it right?] Author: BinLover Made Akikali juice and Dynomyl liquid following the steps. It took me around 6 hours since I wanted to be careful, and these were the end results. (Picture of Akikali juice and Dynomyl liquid in vials) They look good to me? Can I use these to make cool explosions now? (Pictures of step-by-step creation process) → [Juxtaps:?] → [ObsidianTier:?] → [CauldronBro:?] → [Love Fusion Mix Hands: … Baby, are you crazy?] → [Love Fusion Mix Hands: Did you really make these in your kitchen…?] → [Juxtaps: This is impressive on another level.] → [CauldronBro: Based on the pictures and finished product, it looks like you did everything right. These should be genuine components.] → [CauldronBro: Um, but please don't do this in your kitchen next time. Dangerous fumes are released during the distilling process.] → [✪Potions Are Easy: Congratulations! They look well made. If you can afford it, you should prioritize buying an alchemy lab when you can.] → [Juxtaps: I think everyone's missing the point, Newbie succeeded with these on their first try with bootleg equipment.] ↳ [ObsidianTier: Ah, you're right? How the…?] ↳ [EfficiencyLord: This is seriously impressive, ignoring the waste of materials, the newbie did a good job. It's easy to mess up the dynomel creation process, especially as a new alchemist. I think I failed my first couple tries.] ↳ [CauldronBro: Yeah, I think newbie has talent.] → [BinLover: Hehe, thanks for the kind words. I'm not that good, it was just easy to follow your recipe. Anyone could do this.] ↳ [CauldronBro: …] ↳ [Juxtaps: …] ↳ [EfficiencyLord: …] ↳ [Love Fusion Mix Hands: Who taught my baby bad things?] ↳ [ObsidianTier: Manager, can we ban the newbie for an hour?] ↳ [✪Potions Are Easy: No…]"Hehe…" I giggled reading through the comments. Yes! This is what I've been missing! As expected, you can't change one's true nature. But, honestly, I was half-serious. It really wasn't that difficult?
I mean, it was a little bit of a hassle, but all I did was follow the instructions. They're probably just out of touch with the youth.
"Dangerous fumes though…" That was a little worrying. Well, it should be fine. I can just turn on the fan above the stove and open a window next time.
"Haah," I yawned, stretching my arms wide. I was hungry and tired.
"Guess I'll order food today…" … Over the next few days, I got better and better at making these materials. My second attempt only took me four hours, and now, my most recent attempt took me two and half. 28 vials of akikali juice and dynomyl liquid rested in the test tube rack on my table. It was kind of scary to think that one misstep and my whole apartment will explode.
"…I wonder if there's any legal repercussions for having these?" The thought was brief. Just don't get caught and there's no way for me to get in trouble. I mean, how would anyone know that I have highly explosive chemicals in my living room?
"Hm~" I hummed, watering my plants. They finally bore fruit. What was really unexpected was that they were classified as items by the system. [Homegrown Cherry Tomato] Grade E A tomato grown with love and mana by a rookie alchemist. What was even more unexpected was that E-grade tomatoes go for 1, 000 points per pound on the exchange. Though I didn't start gardening for that reason, it was a nice passive income to have. Whatever vegetables and fruit I can't eat, I'll sell!
"Hehe…I'm going to be rich!"
