"This Long Feng… I can't wait to fight him!" The eldest senior disciple of The Roaring Tiger sect and the second rank three spirit realm warrior licked his lips with a burning Battle intent in his eyes. The Rank three spirit realm warrior from the Mysterious Misty Peak, Gongsun Hao, a lean youth with a plain face and aura also glanced at Long Feng then averted his gaze, looking indifferent. He disdained all others here.
Even the two rank three spirit realm warriors from the Roaring Tiger sect and the Spring Saber Sect, they weren't worthy opponents to him. He was waiting… waiting for the three geniuses from the Yihua Clan! Those were his opponents. It would be worthwhile to defeat them here and prove the superiority of the Misty Mountain! The battles continued. Right now, the audience had formed a mental note on the division of geniuses.
The three rank three spirit realm warriors were undoubtedly at the top, followed by the top disciple from the deserted fiends sect. Surprisingly, it was a young lady! Her true age couldn't be pinpointed exactly, her name was Lan Yanyue and she was at the peak rank two spirit realm and her choice of weapon was also a surprise; a bow and arrows! And she was very adept at welding them. Immediately the battle began, before her opponent could react, she would unleash a barrage of arrows at them.
Most of them gave up immediately, because each of the arrows were very lethal. They could directly kill a careless rank two spirit realm warrior! She was ranked right below the top three, and she was believed to have a the highest chance of getting a spot after the three Yihua Clan geniuses and the three top disciples. Right after her was a youth from a rather ordinary force when compared to the top five forces. He was a burly youth with a fierce countenance.
Just his physique and aura could frighten weaker opponents away. He had no weapon, or hadn't been forced to use it yet. He cultivated the Earth Dao which had caused quite a sensation as it was among the Grand Daos of the five elements. His rank three earth Dao concept could compare to a normal rank four Dao concept. His strength was believed to be on par with Lan Yanyue, although she would hold an advantage as long as she kept a distance between them and barraged his defense with a rain of arrows.
Below these two was the young soul cultivator with mysterious background. Considering that the soul path was inferior to the martial path, the audience ranked him below these two. This was, of course just the audience's own thoughts. The true stronger one between the trio was unknown. Next was a bunch of other rank two spirit realm warriors, numbering about ten. Long Feng was actually among the list of those in these group; he was believed to have the combat power of a rank two spirit realm warrior.
Considering how much of his power he had shown, this wasn't surprising. And it was already a great accomplishment for a rank seven Yang realm cultivator to posses such great combat power and comprehension ability. It was unprecedented in the last hundred years or two. Li Yue'er was also among this list.
Her battle power had shocked the audience and the great sects, although her ice Dao concept which was supposed to be shocking had been utterly surpassed by Long Feng, people still believed that with her cultivation higher by two levels, she could suppress Long Feng in a direct battle. Thus, she was ranked even higher than him. After that came the dozens of rank one spirit realm warriors and many peak yang realm level cultivators.
On Long Feng's arena, the fourth and fifth battle were over with nothing really noteworthy happened. The sixth battle was a total beat down; the rank one spirit realm warrior of the group; Bai guang, against a peak Yang realm cultivator who didn't have enough time to concede the battle before he was flung down with a few broken bones. Bai guang then glared at Long Feng from the stage before walking away. He had been excited when he was luckily placed in a group filled with weaklings.
He believed that he would dominate this group and get a free pass into the second round even though many others were stronger than him. Even if he failed to get a spot, just reaching the semi-finals was enough to bring glory to him and his sect. Just imagining how he would be rewarded by the elders made him feel like he was floating in the sky. But the moment he witnessed Long Feng's ridiculous Sword Dao Concept and his frightening Demon Dao, all of that came crashing down on him like thunder.

Even that earlier youth who cultivated the blood dao would give him a hard time, and Long Feng had easily dispatched the youth away. So he had more or less given up on his earlier hope, and a flame of resentment burned in his heart. Long Feng watch the youth walk away with a weird expression.
"What's up with that guy? I don't remember having any issues with him yet he looked so angry? … Oh well. This world if filled with crazy people prone to sudden mood swings. Can't be bothered by them." With that, he shrugged and turned to observe the battles of other groups. Li Yue'er easily dispatched her opponents below rank two spirit realm and she luckily hadn't met a rank 2 level warrior yet. She shouldn't have a problem reaching the semi-finals. There was that burly youth who cultivated the Earth Dao.
Long Feng clicked his tongue when he watched the youth's 'Unique' fighting style. He would build a dense curtain of earth concept energy around him at the start of the battle and let his opponent attack without doing anything. The curtain was so strong that Long Feng figured that only a rank three could tear it open. His opponents would attack the curtain to no effect, until they ran out of inner energy. The he would suddenly attack them.
One might imagine that his attack would be very weak since the specialty of Earth Dao was defense, but the earth was also heavy! And that weight could equal to great attack power, though it consumed lots of energy and weakened the attacker. Which was why he devised this unique method to attack when his opponent was running out of inner energy and win at once.
"I really can't underestimate anyone who has gotten this far. There's that youth who uses soul power. Although our soul cultivation is at the same layer, I have to admit that I stand no chance against him in a soul fight. Seems like my soul still has lots of hidden potential" Long Feng's eyes shone as he observed different battles. Lan Yanyue's battles also drew his attention. She attacked with terrifying speed, releasing arrows that shot out like lightning.
She released the arrows in tricky angles that would block your path to dodge aside or move forward. And even if you did close the distance between you and her by some fluke, she had a very good agility technique for short distance movements to widen the distance again. And if that failed to finish you off… Long Feng's eyes strayed to her bronze coloured bow, to the curved edges of the bow that shone with a sharp light reminiscent of sharp blades.
"Those definitely aren't for decoration!" He thought, "This lady is a great opponent! My Nine Firmament Steps should be able to perfectly dodge her arrows and close the distance. Without her arrows, I doubt that she'll be a threat to me." Noting that, he looked away from her to the final three, the top three.
"Each of them is a genius in their own rights. I really can't wait to test myself against them. Although I doubt I can defeat them yet" Especially Gongsun Hao, Long Feng instinctively felt that this youth was strong! He gave him a whole different feeling than the other two. The battles progressed slowly. All the groups soon had the top five. All that was left was to decide the strongest who would move to the second round, the semi-finals. In Long Feng's group, many already saw him as the strongest.
He could be considered lucky. If he was in the same group as those top three, then he really didn't know if he could make it to the top. Even that Lan Yanyue and the burly youth could prove to be a headache. Although he was confident in himself, he also wasn't arrogant enough to look down on all these geniuses who had been meticulously groomed for years by their forces for this.
"At least, I should definitely get a spot. Right now, I'm really too weak. Forget leaving this continent on my own, traveling within this province alone is already dangerous. To think I was prepared to leave this 'realm', whatever that means." Long Feng paused, then he suddenly felt aggrieved.
"I have such a powerful Master, but I'm still suffering! Could there be anything more unfortunate?" He paused again, remembering Wu Kong's shocking ability to read minds.
"Come to think of it, I've never heard of someone being able to read another's mind, not even the Firmament Sword Saint. My master must be at a terrifying realm. Even those Rulers of the Four Region Mainland that I met and the Yin Monarchs, none of them give me even a bit of the feeling master gives me." Shaking his head, he got rid of these thoughts from his head. Even asking Wu Kong himself would be of no use, so he shouldn't bother about it.
As he was contemplating, the battles to decide the top contestant from all groups had begun. There were five stones, two black, two whites and one gray coloured. Whoever picked the grey stone wouldn't fight anyone. The other four stone pickers would battle the other similar color. That way, the five would be reduced to three. The same process would be repeated to decide the top two and first.
Although these rules weren't perfect as they could allow a sufficiently lucky weakling to reach the semi-finals, no one was actually worried. The semi-finals was full of genuine talents and strong warriors. Any weakling who joined would be sent packing before he could blink. And so the battles began again. Long Feng picked a black stone, and the grey stone was taken by a peak Yang realm cultivator; the lady with the water Dao. She automatically got a pass to the next round.
Long Feng's opponent was actually quite interesting; Bai guang! The very same rank one spirit realm warrior of the ground.
"It's you? Such a coincidence?" Long Feng stood across his opponent on the stage and spoke curiously. After all, this youth seemed quite angry at him earlier. Bai guang was dumbfounded when he saw that his opponent was Long Feng. He had no idea whether to laugh or cry right now. Of course, he definitely couldn't back down otherwise he would shame his sect instead of honoring them.
"You? You're just a rank seven Yang realm cultivator. I'm in a good mood today so you can give up" He spoke a bunch of nonsense that not even he believed. His words drew many weird gazes to him.
"Oh. I see. But you weren't in a good mood against your previous opponents? Why me?" Long Feng asked with a faint smile.
"I don't have to explain myself to you." Bai guang replied with feigned calmness.
"Alright. Let's fight" Long Feng's smile vanished as he released his aura. Bai guang's heart thumped, beating against his chest, yet he couldn't bring himself to concede defeat without fighting. He gritted his teeth and released his aura"I don't believe that he can defeat me. So what if he has a rank six Dao concept. The cultivation gap between us is great, he must be bluffing!" This thought calmed him somewhat.
He released his aura to it's fullest and also released his rank one wind Dao concept, causing the wind to begin to gather around him.
"With my wind Dao, my speed can temporarily surpass normal rank one spirit realm warriors. Same with my attack power. There's no need to be afraid!" The wind Dao was a grand Dao on the same level as the Earth Dao, although it wasn't among the five elements. It was also a grand Dao and it was renowned for it's speed and tremendous attack power second only to thunder and metal. Whoosh! Bai guang shot forward like a gale. Although he has suppressed his fear, he still didn't dare to underestimate his opponent.
He gathered his entire inner energy and his wind concept energy completely and unleashed his greatest speed in concert with his greatest attack.
"Earth tearing wind blade!" His energy was depleted in an instant, and a large blade of inner energy and wind appeared in the sky, twice the size of a man. It followed Bai guang's gesture and slowly descended upon Long Feng. Long Feng looked up, inwardly feeling impressed. Truly, he couldn't underestimate anyone.
"Let me show you the limit of my sword Dao and demon Dao!" He smiled as he began to gather his sword lights and demon energy to unleash his self created attack.
"Demon Sword!" His cold voice echoed out as demon energy clouded his body and gathered at his fingertip. His rank six sword concept also surged out, dazzling to the eye as it gathered at the same fingertip. The two energies were forced to merge under his meticulous control, gathering into a streak of pitch black sword light that seemed to devour even light, and then he pointed it at Bai guang.
A faint black light streaked through the air and pierced through Bai guang's right shoulder before the audience could react. Bai guang stood stunned, in shock as he felt the wound on his shoulder bleeding. It was completely pierced through! Then he sighed and dispersed the wind blade in the sky, then he clasped his fists.
"Thank you for showing mercy. I admit defeat!" Then he left the stage. Long Feng smiled and also left the stage quietly. The results of this battle hadn't surprised many people. They had already expected Bai guang's defeat so there was no sensation caused. But the top five sect elders, Hua Yao, and those great figures in the tower all felt shocked, and it clearly showed especially in Young Master Liu's eyes.
