Chương 163: The arrival of the four region's masters

"The humans have always been a group of foolish race. Let's hurry back. Master must be on his way back to the territory!" Another peak spirit level ghost replied loudly. One of them waved his hand and wrapped Long Feng and Hua Liuli with his aura. Giving them an interesting yet amused glance, he said, "It is your honor to serve as a factor in paving the path for master's future Ascension to greater heights." Having their entire bodies restrained, the duo couldn't even reply back.

With the same astonishing speed with which they arrived here, the Yin ghosts rushed back to the territory. On the way, Long Feng had to admit that the speed of peak spirit level masters was far above anything he could imagine. Who knew? They were probably not even serious during the chase earlier. But it didn't matter. The first phase of his plan had been accomplished. Upon arriving back, Long Feng and Hua Liuli were flung at two peak yang level Yin ghosts.

"Lock them up with the others."

"Yes sirs!" The two peak Yang level yin ghosts nodded respectfully and sent off the spirit level yin ghosts with their eyes, before turning to face the two new humans.

"Master was already getting prepared for his breakthrough. Bringing in more humans at this moment is a good accomplishment. They also seem fairly strong." One of them floated over and revealed a gruesome smile on his scrunched up pale face. Long Feng and Hua Liuli exchanged looks as they were dragged away by these two.

A few minutes later, they were brought to the center of this land behind a large palace like building, where a sizable number of humans; a little over hundred, were seating on the floor with despairing expressions.

"It's here? On the open floor?" Long Feng thought to himself. He was disappointed when he looked over the humans here and saw no sign of Yan jian or Li Yue'er.

"Could they really have escaped somehow? Are they alright?" Long Feng was very worried at the moment. He was out of ideas or solutions on what to do, and he didn't even have a method to communicate with them. If he could just send them a message and ask where they were and if they were safe, he would have felt much better.

"Stay here. The master is on his way back. At that time, you will all be granted freedom!" The peak Yang level Yin ghosts pushed Long Feng and Hua Liuli into the group of humans and spoke with indifference before they turned and left. Long Feng's eyes twinkled as he heard what these Yin ghosts said.

"The master is on his way back... the yin soldier overseeing this territory isn't here at the moment!" But what were they going to do then? How where they going to find Yan jian and Li Yue'er? Who knew how many such bases the Yin ghosts had? Even if he spent the rest of his life, Long Feng wouldn't be able to cover the entire Yin ghost forest at this rate. They were about equal in numbers to the prisoners in the other territory where he met Hua Liuli.

"Liuli, the Yin soldier is returning. Do it now!" He couldn't even be bothered to speak gently and so, all the humans present and even the Yin ghosts around heard him. Bewildered expressions were immediately cast on him. Hua Liuli immediately took out a palm sized token from her void ring, and after making sure to cover Long Feng with her aura, she crushed the token. A powerful aura erupted wildly and swept all those around far away, leaving only the two of them.

A powerful surge of energy wrapped up the both of them and they turned into a streak of light, flashing away at a great speed. The humans and Yin ghosts there stood blankly, looking at each other with stunned expressions. No one had expected this sudden turn of events. In fact, what just happened again? Some of them were unsure of what just occurred. Fifteen breaths later, another powerful aura descended upon the whole land, pressuring everyone to their bones.

All the Yin ghosts faced a direction and bowed respectfully, and even the few peak spirit level Yin ghosts appeared and bowed. A short, a pale figure appeared in the distance. With just a few steps, he covered the distance and reached the territory. The awe inspiring aura which suppressed everyone was clearly coming from his body.

"Welcome back, master!" As expected, the Yin soldier was back. The remaining humans all felt great despair in their hearts. With an Imperial realm Yin soldier present, then they had no hope of escaping ever again. But the Yin soldier wasn't paying attention to either the yin ghosts not the humans. He was staring in the direction where two humans had just fled in. He has sensed their auras the moment he arrived, accompanied by a weird fluctuation of energy.

He could easily track and chase them down if he wanted to, but he was wondering if it would be worth it. After all, he had little time on his hand currently.

"I'll let them be for a while then." he finally gave up the thought and turned towards the Yin ghosts, the spirit level ones in particular.

"Prepare everything. I will begin the ceremony. Also, no one should leave the territory from this moment henceforth. According to the lord Monarchs, the human masters of the four regions have arrived and are rushing to this depths currently. They will arrive to confront us in a day or two. The forest will cease to be peaceful from this moment onwards." The Yin soldier said. The reason he had left was due to a summon two days ago by the Generals and the Monarchs, ordering every Yin soldier to gather.

The Thousands of Yin soldiers in the forest all rushed to the Ghost Source Land, which was the very center of this forest and the source of the Yin ghosts entirely. The mysteries of the Yin ghosts forest were all hidden there.

"Yes master!" Although they were surprised, the Yin ghosts weren't afraid after hearing that the human masters were arriving. Their Monarchs had already expected it and had planned everything well. There was nothing to be worried about. The Yin soldier instantly vanished with a gust of wind.

A few hundred meters away, a blazing streak of light crashed into the floor, uprooting the surrounding trees and blasted all beasts away. Of course, those were the weaker beasts. The light faded, revealing two tattered figures; a youth with a slightly immature face and a cute, child like lady, both covered in cuts and wounds.

"Come on, let's go." Long Feng gritted his teeth, grabbed Hua Liuli's wrist and rushed deeper into the forest without looking back. He didn't stop until a full incense stick worth of time later before he collapsed on the floor after acertaining that no one was following them. Their luck was really shitty.

Originally, the plan was to allow themselves to be captured and taken to the territory by the Yin ghosts, then they would confirm whether Yan jian or Li Yue'er was there while also finding out if the Yin soldier was present or not. If he was present, they would have to cause a distraction before they use the protective token to escape within those ten breaths before anyone would be able to react.

But if by some coincidence, the Yin soldier wasn't present, then with the rank one imperial level speed of the protective token, they could do as they wished and escape the chase of the Spirit level Yin ghosts without breaking a sweat. Unfortunately, what they didn't expect was that the Yin soldier would return back to the territory while they were still there. If they had allowed him to arrive before they escaped, them the Yin ghost would have definitely chased them down.

Even if he couldn't catch up which was quite unlikely, he only had to chase them for ten breaths of time to effortlessly capture them after the energy stored in the protective token was exhausted. They still managed to escape though, and the Yin soldier didn't try to stop them nor did he chase after them.

But due to their unprepared use of the protective token, Hua Liuli was unable to set a good path and they ended up smashing through countless trees and even some large stones, resulting in their current tattered figures and injuries. It must be known that all the trees and rocks, even the sand of this forest were very tough, having bathed and tempered continuously over the years in this thick ghost energy which pervaded the entirety of the forest.

Even with the protection of the token's energy, they had ended up like this. Without the token, they would both have to go and heal for a time range of a month to half a year. Beside him, hua Liuli gasped as she sat down beneath a tree.

"Brother Long Feng, I will never listen to your plan again from this moment." Long Feng laughed.

"At least, we didn't lose our lives." Then he stood up and glanced down at his tattered robes. He didn't bring another set with him. How was he to know that this ordinary competition for the Clear Sky Realm would become so… exciting?

"Alright come on, let's go. Yan jian and Miss Li are still somewhere out there and we need to find them!" Hua Liuli pouted as she struggled to her feet. Immediately she stood up, her stomach rumbled faintly. She immediately blushed in embarrassment as Long Feng stood there, speechless. Was she being serious right now? Really, was it too late to return her to the Yin soldier now?
