The old man extended his translucent arm and lightly tapped on Long Feng's forehead. His eyes flashed with an otherworldly light as his conciousness appeared inside an endless dark space filled with infinite flickering specks of light in the distance.
"This is the boy's dantian? The Starry space? I've never heard of such a dantian variation..." the old man looked around inside Long Feng's dantian, feeling surprise.
"As I thought, there is more to that boy than what meets the eye" As he was speculating on what to do, he heard a roar behind him. This roar contained a boundless majesty and infinite power, such that even this old man with his profound power was shaken to his core. He slowly turned around, only to receive the shock of his life! Far in the distance, three humongous beings flew around without restraint, each of them emanating a world destroying aura! Looking clearly, they were actually three massive Dragons!
Massive wasn't even enough to describe their size, as when compared to them, the old man was like a mere bacteria... No words could describe the feeling the Dragons gave off. Their mere presence made one feel like bowing down before them. The old man was shocked dumb as he stood there with a shivering body. He was completely suppressed by the aura of these three dragons, and all that was required for them to destroy him was a single thought...
"T-this... how is this possible?" The old man's body was visibly shaking out of fear and disbelief. From his eyes, it seemed like he had an idea on what these three dragons were.
"I can't be wrong... such potent Yin and Yang energies can only be found in the three Chaos sources..." the old man continuously muttered to himself in disbelieve. By pure coincidence, the humongous Demon dragon flew by close to him without even glancing at him. Of course, this 'close' was actually a few miles away from him, but the old man's figure was flung very far away like a paper in a storm and his translucent figure dimmed visibly by half.
He steadied himself and gave this starry space and the three dragons one last glance before he vanished from this dantian world. Silence was restored to the starry space which was occasionally broken by the roars of the dragons........
"Ha!" The old man opened his eyes and staggered backwards, almost falling to the floor. His glowing figure had dimmed by over half. It looked like the damage he received inside the dantian world also affected his soul body.
"This is unbelievable! The three Chaos sources! Residing in someone's dantian?" The old man paid no heed to his injured state as he gasped in shock. He was still finding it hard to register what he just saw into his mind. He gave the unconscious Long Feng a deep glance. In the depths of his eyes was also fear!
"Who exactly are you?"
"Could this be fate? If this kid is allowed to fully mature and he becomes another primal heaven emperor, then it won't be impossible to resist against those beings and endure the great calamity..." The old man sighed with a conflicted expression.
"Even though I am not longer able to join the battle, I can still help by giving you a chance to get stronger." As he said this, the old man once again lightly tapped on Long Feng's forehead, sending a stream of pure energy into his body. Long Feng's injuries began to heal rapidly under the influence of this energy.
"The rest will depend on your efforts, kid." The old man sighed and stepped aside, sitting down with closed eyes....... When Long Feng finally regained conciousness two days later, he was pleasantly surprised to discover that almost half of his injuries had recovered, and his aura had stabilized at the peak of the yin realm. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. This was quite unexpected, as he had expected to take almost a whole week to recover to this extent.
"You're finally awake. I thought you weren't ever going to wake up" As he was marveling at how fast he had recovered, a tired voice sounded beside him.
"Senior!" He saw the old man seated right beside him and he quickly stood up.
"No need to be so courteous. Hm? Your healing capabilities are astonishing. At this rate, you will completely recover in another two days" The old man nodded gently.
"Senior, what happened to them?" Long Feng looked around and was startled to see both Yan jian and Hua Liuli sprawled on the floor, deep asleep. Li Yue'er on the other hand was still silently recuperating as her life source slowly rekindled.
"Oh, them? I just put them to sleep for a while. Don't worry, they should wake up in a while" the old man replied, leaving Long Feng speechless. Then he noticed that the old man looked different from when they first saw him. His bright figure had dimmed considerably and his aura was much weaker than before. Of course, he wasn't one to poke his nose where he wasn't supposed to, especially when they were not related in anyway.
"Thank you for your help, senior but we must get going" Long Feng cupped his fist and spoke solemnly. The old man gave him a deep look which made Long Feng feel weird. Something felt different about this old man. This thought made Long Feng feel increasingly cautious.
"You do know that once you leave right now, you are walking straight to your death, right? Those beings outside were fairly angered by you earlier" the old man said. Long Feng took in a deep breath and clenched his fist.
"I am aware of that, but I also know that I can't stay here forever. Sooner or later, I have to leave and face them." The old man suddenly laughed.
"Good kid! I like your determination. But sometimes, such determination becomes foolishness, especially in such cases where you know that you are simply throwing your life away." Long Feng frowned slightly.
"What is senior trying to say?" The old man stood up and yawned.
"Nothing much, but I might have a way for you to leave without having to face any dangers" Long Feng was surprised and excited to hear this. But he quickly suppressed this excitement, thinking that something was truly different about this old man. Why did it sound like he was trying to help them?
"What does senior means?" He asked. The old man finally looked at him seriously and replied.
"As I said before, you are the first humans I have seen in hundreds of years. And your arrival here was a complete coincidence, but unfortunately, you are far too weak to receive master's inheritance." Long Feng nodded. He did say this before. There was no need to repeat himself again.
"But after thinking through things slowly, I realized that it might take hundreds of years before another human steps into this land again, and it might never even happen. And this seal is already weakened, and if this inheritor isn't found soon, the seal will collapse within a few hundred years, bringing destruction to this realm. Even if another human happens to come here, he may not be perfect as he may be too strong to receive the inheritance, or too weak, like you." The old man added. Long Feng was speechless.
Could this old man stop referring to him as weak at every turn? The old man's next words shocked him though.
"Therefore, I have decided to simply take a risk and pass on the inheritance to you""Me?" Long Feng was really surprised when the old man said this after clearly stating that he was too weak to receive the inheritance earlier.
"Of course, there are some reasons as to why I suddenly changed my mind, but I have no ulterior motives behind this. All I want, is to help you mature quickly" the old man immediately added, afraid that Long Feng would refuse this inheritance out of caution. Long Feng was silent for a minute, before he looked up and asked.
"Who are you really? And what are you suppressing? Also, who exactly is your master?" The old man smiled.
"I already expected these questions. Naturally, since I have decided to take you as master's inheritor, I will explain everything I can remember to you."
"Your first question, who am I? I don't remember much, but I do know that I used to follow my master thousands of years ago as his sword spirit. After a great battle, My body which was master's sword was destroyed. Taking pity on me, master turned me I to the spirit of this Demon sealing coffin so that I retain my existence. This happened long ago, so let's not think too much about it" Long Feng looked at this and man in surprise. So he is a sword spirit, just like Wu kong...
"Your second question, what am I suppressing?" The old man paused with a solemn expression.
"I am not sure myself. All I know is that this existence is synonymous with destruction wherever it goes. Master was unable to destroy it even with his profound cultivation, and could only seal it away for thousands of years. If this existence ever frees itself from this seal, then this world as you know it will face certain destruction." Long Feng frowned as he heard the old man's explanation. Although it wasn't the answer he wanted to hear, it still let him know how dangerous this existence was.
"Your third question, who is my master... thousands of years ago, master was a peak existence even in the great realms. With his sword by his side, he was unrivaled. He was widely recognized as the Firmament Sword Saint, just one step away from attaining the sword emperor title." As the old man spoke about his master, his tone was filled with pride.
"Firmament Sword Saint... the great realms, where is that?" Long Feng asked. The old man shook his head.
"You will naturally know when the time comes, and you might even go there and explore the world by yourself." Long Feng nodded.
"Is he alive? Your master?" Long Feng asked quietly. The old man's pride immediately faded away as he sighed.
"I don't know. Master was severely injured after sealing this existence back then. I haven't heard from him since then." The old man replied with a melancholic tone as he gazed into the sky with deep yearning in his eyes. Long Feng didn't say anything as he stood silently and let the old man to calm down. Finally, after some minutes, the old man sighed again.
"Alright, I have answered your questions. But before you receive this inheritance, I must remind you that you must return here once you have formed your Dao heart." Long Feng nodded.
"I will""Good. Let's begin. Master was unprepared for this and didn't leave much for his inheritor, only three things in total." As the old man said this, he waved his hand. Infinite flickering specks of energy gathered before him and condensed into a ball of light.
"This is the first inheritance; A sword art. It was personally created by my master, and was also one of the things which made him famous back in the days. It is unrivaled in this world and is a peak technique even in the great realms." He lightly flicked his fingers and the ball of light shot straight into Long Feng's forehead. Long Feng closed his eyes as he felt new information appearing on his mind.
"Firmament Sword Art..." this was the name of the sword art, and even before he cultivated it, Long Feng could already sense that this sword art was definitely a peak grade technique which far surpassed the imperial rank. He finished reading through the information in his head and slowly opened his eyes after a while, looking dazed. He hadn't expected that sword art to be so profound. Comparing the foundation sword art which he was currently cultivating to this Firmament Sword art was like comparing clouds and mud!
He felt extremely excited in his mind. It seemed like he made a good choice by taking a risk to come here. He was beginning to anticipate what the second and third inheritance were.
