Rudra first proceeded to learn all 5 of his new legendary skills to increase his wisdom stat. [The effect of 'Endless Learning' has triggered five times!] [You have acquired five Legendary Knowledge.] [Passive Skill 'Endless Learning' has leveled up to Lv. 3!] [All Stats +75. Wisdom +50.]"Hey, Mumud," Rudra said, after learning all the 5 Legendary Magics.
"Since you shared your magic with me, it's only fair I share something back." Mumud blinked.
"My Lord?"
"It's a mana circulation technique from the destroyed world," Rudra said.
"It's one of my main sources of strength. But it was considered a forbidden technique but I believe that you will be able to bring out its full potential." Before Mumud could ask what he meant, Rudra raised his hand.
"Impart Knowledge," Rudra said. A soft, golden light pulsed from Rudra's fingertips and washed over the undead magic genius. [You have used 'Impart Knowledge (Lv. 1)'.] [1, 000 Enlightenment has been consumed.] [Target 'Mumud' possesses Maximum Affinity with you.] [You are passing down the Legendary skill: 'Mana Heart (Lv. 3)'.] Mumud gasped. His eyes flared wildly as the ancient, forbidden knowledge poured directly into his mind. He didn't say a word.
He just immediately dropped to the floor, crossed his legs, and closed his eyes to meditate. Rudra leaned against his staff and waited. The [Mana Heart] was designed by Barbarians to force mana through physical veins, trying to replicate the heart of the Titan's who fought gods. So chances are, if a normal human learns it they are mostly going to explode to pieces due to insufficient physical strength and mana control. Rudra hoped that Mumud's mana control should be able to handle this Mana circulation technique.
Ten minutes later, the air around Mumud suddenly shifted. A heavy, rhythmic thumping sound echoed from his chest, like a second heartbeat made entirely of mana. He opened his eyes. The blue flames in his sockets were burning brighter than ever. [Your subordinate 'Mumud' has successfully mastered 'Mana Heart'.] [Mumud has learnt and modified the skill to support himself!] Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. [Mumud's Strength, Stamina, Intelligence and Insight has increased greatly!] [The effect of 'Impart Knowledge' has activated!] [You receive a permanent 5% reflection of the stats gained by your student.] [Strength +12.] [Stamina +9.] [Intelligence +15.] [Insight +10.]"This tehnique..." Mumud whispered, staring at his own hands.
"Treating mana as a secondary circulatory system which absorbs physical shock and reinforces the bones. My Lord, this technique is invaluable to me, especially since I just hypothesised another way to become a human again."
"Glad it helps," Rudra smiled.
"Speaking of which, how is the research going? Have you figured out how to become human again?" Mumud slowly stood up, dusting off his robes. The heavy mana heartbeat in his chest settled into a quiet, steady rhythm.
"I have," Mumud nodded.
"Until ten minutes ago, I only had two paths. The first path was complete human resurrection. I would become a living mortal again, but I would lose the absolute greatest benefit of being a Lich."
"Which is?"
"Near-infinte mana and lifespan," Mumud stated plainly.
"Liches are the apex of the undead. Our mana and lifespan is virtually endless. If I became fully human, I would lose those benefits."
"Right. And the second path?" Rudra asked.
"A partial resurrection," Mumud explained.
"I would retain some Lich benefits, keeping my infinite mana pool. But I would also keep the fatal flaw of the Undead race: a fragile physical body that lacks durability. My body would easily shatter in a high-level fight and I would be severely weakened against divinity." Mumud looked down at his chest, pressing a hand over where his new [Mana Heart] was beating.
"But the technique you shared with me just gave me the path for the third path," Mumud said, his voice filled with genuine awe.
"With this circulation technique, I can artificially reinforce a fragile body using my infinite mana temporarily enough that I can activate the extreme light and darkness power that was used in generating my temporary flesh and make me permanently a human. Not just that I could get all the benefits of a lich with none of the drawbacks, not to mention several other benefits as well."
"Sounds like a win," Rudra said.
"So what's the catch?"
"The catalyst and the energy fusion," Mumud sighed heavily.
"To re-create a human body that would allow me to become a human with a human soul and demonic and divine energies, I would require a catalyst with both those energies balanced." Mumud started pacing." And that, my Lord, is impossible."
"Why?"
"Because those energies cannot be held by normal beings," Mumud explained, shaking his head.
"Demonic Force belongs strictly to Demons. Even contracted black magicians only receive 'Black Magic Power', which is still a level lower than Demonic Force. Divine Energy belongs to Gods and Saints. Priests only wield 'Faith Power' or 'Divine Power' inherited from Divine Power." He then continued after a short pause "Finding the catalyst with each is already near-impossible to find, let alone one with both.
My Lord, I know that you have access to Divine Energy and we can use that to create a Divine Catalyst but we would need a Demonic Catalyst and find a way to combine them which is impossible." Rudra just listened. He let Mumud finish his rant. Then, Rudra raised his left hand. He didn't say anything dramatic. He just quietly activated his [Harbinger of Divine and Demon] title. Instantly, the air in the room warped. A somewhat stable grey-black aura coated Rudra's fingers.
The freezing black Demonic Force and the warm gold of Divine Energy swirled together around his hand. Mumud froze mid-step. Rudra reached into his inventory with his other hand and pulled out the [Source of Agony]. The dark, jagged stone pulsed with heavy, prime evil energy. It was the catalyst of the Demonic Force.
"I have the balanced energy right here," Rudra said casually, holding up his glowing hand. He tossed the demonic core slightly in the air and caught it.
"And I already have the demonic catalyst." Mumud's jaw literally dropped. The undead Lich stared at Rudra's hand, entirely speechless.
"We just need a divine catalyst now," Rudra grinned.
"So, you don't need to worry, I'll get some material with divine energy and make a divine catalyst that can contend with the demonic catalyst, so you just make sure to be completely prepared for when I return."
