The Chairman of the S. A. Group had stated that Satisfy offered "infinite freedom" and that "diligence would be rewarded." Rudra wanted to test that. He had slapped Morax, the 14th Great Demon, in the past. If he slapped another one, would the system recognize the sheer absurdity of it and reward him? He specifically wanted to unlock Demonic Power. If he got it, his crazy plan to use his Sage's Eyes to forcibly fuse Divine Energy and Demonic Power together could begin. It was a massive gamble.
And if it succeeded then various things he had planned out could be achieved. Kurson wound up for a massive, heavy downward strike, his fists glowing with dark green fire. [Super Sensitivity warns of an overhead, area-of-effect crush!] Rudra didn't try to block. He didn't use [Abyssal Step]. He simply let go of his staff with his right hand, dropping the heavy weapon completely into his left.
He stepped directly into Kurson's personal space, pulled his empty right hand back, and slapped the Great Demon straight across the face. SMACK. The sharp sound echoed loudly in the cavern. Kurson completely froze. The Great Demon's glowing fist stopped in mid-air. The sickly green eyes widened in absolute shock.
"Did you just..." Kurson whispered, his voice trembling with sheer disbelief.
"... slap me?" Rudra grinned. He pulled his hand back and did it again. SMACK.
"Stop that!" Kurson roared, taking a clumsy step backward. Kurson tried to throw a quick punch. Rudra ducked under it, ignored the demon's stance, and slapped him a third time. [You have slapped one of the great evils multiple times.] [You have acquired the Title: 'One Who Slaps Great Demons'.] [One Who Slaps Great Demons] [You have inflicted the ultimate humiliation upon the prime evils. - When using bare-handed attacks against demonic entities, there is a 50% chance to inflict a 1-second 'Enrage' or 'Confusion' status. - Demonic entities fighting you will have their Defense reduced by 10%. - You will no longer face any environmental restrictions or penalties when entering Hell. - Demonic Power +100] [Hidden stat [Demonic Power] has been unlocked.] [Demonic Power] [Represents the degree of one's demonic nature and used to generate Demonic Force. - The higher the number, the more likely you are to enter hell. - It increases every time you kill a target. - Stat points can't be distributed to this stat.] [Hidden Resource [Demonic Force] has been unlocked.] [Demonic Force] [It is the energy acquired due to the presence of Demonic Power. - Consumed when activating Demonic skills. - Regenerates naturally based on your [Demonic Power] stat. - It can be infused into objects to increase the strength of demonic skills. Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings. - It hurts beings classified as 'divine creatures' regardless of whether they're friend or foe.] Rudra glanced at the prompts and grinned wildly. The Chairman was right. The system really did reward infinite freedom.. But his little experiment worked too well. The Great Demon went absolutely feral over the disrespect. All of his tactical experience and careful blocking vanished.
Kurson started swinging wildly, thrashing around the cave in pure anger. A sudden, freezing jolt of dark energy flooded into Rudra's chest. It pooled right next to the warm, golden light of his Divine Energy. A bright red system warning flashed in front of his eyes. [Your demonic force and divine energy oppose each other.] [Whenever you hit a target with an attack using both energies, there is a clash between the demonic force and divine power, causing an explosion.]"An explosion?" Rudra laughed.
"Don't threaten me with a good time." He didn't hold back. He had planned to figure out a complex way to merge them, but he just gripped his staff with both hands. He actively pumped the golden Divine Energy and the freezing black Demonic Force directly into the dark metal at the exact same time. The two energies violently collided. The staff started to shake, threatening to blow Rudra's arms entirely off. [The Title Effect of 'Alchemist Who Transcends Matter' is activating.] [The resources aren't equal] [Your understanding of Divine Energy and Demonic Force is insufficient] [Equilibrium cannot be achieved.] The alchemy title forcefully intervened. He didn't even need a new skill. It stopped the energies from blowing up inside Rudra's body. They didn't mix cleanly. Instead, they just violently existed together, binding loosely around the outside of the staff. Kurson stumbled back, shielding his eyes from the unstable grey-black aura.
"The alchemical wench?" Kurson hissed in outrage.
"Althea dares to bind my power with holy filth?!" [You are the first player to balance both Divine Energy and Demonic Force at the same time!] [You have acquired the Title: 'Harbinger of Divine and Demon'.] Before Rudra could even read the title's stats, a chilling, purple message popped up. [The Devil Monarch is interested in you!]"Tell him to take a number," Rudra muttered. Kurson charged, swinging both fists in a blind rage. Rudra opened his [Spell Store]. He didn't hold back.
He used his new [Elemental Convergence]. Since he had an absurd amount of mana, he dumped everything into it. He rapidly drew Fire, Water, Wind, Ice, Lightning, Earth, Wood, Darkness, and Light mana from Mumud's tree. He fused all nine elements together, banking the incredibly volatile spell directly into the grey-black aura of his staff. Kurson felt the massive spatial shift in the magic.
"That matrix..." Kurson's lip curled in pure disgust.
"Zen magic? You even carry the scent of that ancient, forgotten race. You are a disgusting mongrel. A thief of stolen tricks!" [Super Sensitivity detects a wide, double-arm swing!] Rudra stepped right under the demon's wild swing. He swung Extortion in a clean, horizontal arc. The staff smashed into Kurson's armored chest. KABOOM! [You have dealt 18, 450, 000 damage!] The impact was absolutely catastrophic.
Because the holy and demonic energies couldn't perfectly mix, the unstable coating detonated exactly on impact. The external explosion shredded Kurson's thick bone armor. At the exact same time, the stored spell triggered at point-blank range. With nine elements fused, [Elemental Convergence] ignored over 100% of the target's magic defense. It was essentially complete magic resistance penetration.
A blinding, multi-colored blast of raw elemental chaos exploded from the weapon, eating away a massive chunk of the demon's health bar. Kurson shrieked, stumbling backward. Rudra didn't stop. He rode the momentum of the explosion. He spun the staff, bringing it high over his head. The infinite loop was locked in.
"Comet!" Rudra brought the heavy staff crashing down with maximum weight. The 900% physical damage multiplier stacked with the volatile grey-black explosion and the massive defense reduction. [Echo Strike has activated!] [Two phantom strikes have been generated!] The hit connected with the top of Kurson's skull, immediately followed by two ghostly aftershocks. KABOOM! [Critical Hit!] [You have dealt 142, 890, 000 damage!] [You have dealt 71, 445, 000 damage!] [You have dealt 14, 289, 000 damage!] The Great Demon didn't even have time to roar. The overwhelming blunt force completely obliterated him. Kurson's massive 500 million health pool melted rapidly from the chained explosions, the total magic defense bypass, and the unblocked heavy strikes. His body shattered into a massive cloud of dark ash that rained down over the jagged rocks. The cavern went dead quiet. Rudra let out a long, tired breath and rested the staff on his shoulder. He watched the massive payout of experience points flood his system.
[Experience has been acquired.] [Level Up!] [Level Up!] [Level Up!] ….. [Level Up!] [Level Up!] [You have reached Level 273!] He wiped a bit of soot off his cheek and looked at the pile of ash.
"Well," Rudra grinned in the dark cave.
"That was definitely a fun workout."
