"It's pathetic that you lose to a mortal, brother." Those were the first words Thor heard when he was taking a small walk around their tent, a little bit far away. He had been questioning his life after what had happened. Jane had suggested walking beside him and talking more about the stars, but he refused. The main point remained that he lost to a kid and though everyone thought it was weird and had questions, he, as a Prince of Asgard, had failed and lost to a mortal, the same ones he looked down upon.

Well, not exactly looked down upon, but you get the gist. And thus, as he was walking, thinking about his long life, he suddenly heard a very familiar voice speak to him. He was instantly elated hearing that voice and turned to the man who had just appeared. The man in the iconic green-colored armor with a flair that not many people around would have. Loki.

"Brother... You are here." Thor was beyond happy to see him, which meant that his banishment was lifted and he could go home. But then the lies of Loki came crashing down. Of how his father had died (he had just gone into the Odin Sleep a few moments ago), how Thor was a disappointment both in Asgard and now here where he couldn't lift Mjolnir and now he had lost to a kid. The confrontation/discussion went just as it should have in the SHIELD facility after being caught.

And now it had happened under the stars, with the added insult of losing to a young mortal. Thor lost all the enthusiasm he had upon seeing Loki here. He was beyond distraught knowing that his father died because of his own fault. It would take a lot of time for him to get out of his grief. And Loki didn't add more insult to his emotional injury. And thus he left, but he didn't go back home directly. In fact, he took a detour. A detour through the tent where Rei was supposed to be.

He, of course, used magic to sneak in without removing the cover. Loki really knew some cool magic, no wonder he was able to fool Thor and was known as the God of Mischief. And Loki, after barging in, just looked at Rei who seemed to be asleep with his eyes closed.

"Hmph! Losing to this boy.. What a loser you are brother.." His hand moved and out came a dagger. Though Loki had insulted his brother, at the end of the day, deep in his heart, despite the betrayal he had recently come to know about—that he was a Frost Giant or that he was never in line to succeed the throne—he saw his parents as his own parents. From his father and own brother all he ever wanted was approval, and that was the internal drama.

Thor might have lost but this small boy, but it had indirectly insulted their godhood and that couldn't be excused. As Loki was ready to kill the kid, he heard the boy with closed eyes saying.

"You know if you want to kill someone, you shouldn't just stand and make thoughts in your head while going to do so. You should just do it and escape. God! you are so naive to the skills of assassination." Loki's eyes went wide when he saw the boy with closed eyes speaking. When he had arrived he had kept an eye on the fact that the boy didn't open or flinch a single eye nor had his breathing changed. He was sure that this kid didn't hear him coming but even after that this boy was able to hear him?

"You little piece of.." Loki was enraged and without warning this time, tried to stab Rei in the head. The action from Loki was instant and it felt like Rei didn't have any time to react. Loki felt happy seeing how he was able to kill the boy, only for the corpse to suddenly give out smoke and turn into a log of wood. The genuine version of this novel can be found on another site. And in the next moment, Loki felt a cold feeling on his neck and without even touching his neck he could feel blood pouring out slowly as he felt a warm liquid slowly trickling down. If one looked closely, one would see a small, hazy and bluish-colored hue on the kunai. Loki's breath hitched and he wanted to move away from the cold feeling on his neck, but it only made the hand on his shoulder tighter and the wound on his neck wider as he felt more warm liquid gushing out.

"Loki. This isn't Asgard. If I kill you here and bury you, nobody will know. Didn't you say that your father is dead? Who will avenge you if you die here? Your brother? He can't even defeat me, so be a good boy and don't try to start an interplanetary incident which has no consequences."

"You dare look down on Asgard? With a mere signal I can bury your entire civilization." Loki growled. He wanted to ask for help but his pride didn't allow him to.

"And you are making the mistake of thinking I belong to this civilization." Rei replied, and this made Loki stiffen up more. What was he talking about? Wasn't he human like others? Wait! That might not be true. Just like he looked human, didn't mean he was human. This made Loki realize that this boy wasn't normal at all. His failure to kill him and his weird magic made sense now.

"Who are you?" Loki finally asked after calming himself down a bit, and stopped his struggle as he had been trying to do. He even tried to use magic and stab him with his other hand, only for the wound to get deeper. He really was on the edge now and suddenly he got to know this boy wasn't human either.

"Doesn't matter. You can fight, defeat and kill whoever you want, but this is another place, not your backyard. Make a wrong move here and I would make sure you will remember it for the rest of your life or whatever life is left after that." Rei spoke and his voice became colder and colder with every passing word. Loki could feel the anger in his breath and also the small bloodlust, signifying that this boy had killed before and it wasn't his first rodeo.

The next moment, both Rei and Loki disappeared from inside the tent. When they appeared again, it was quite a distance away. Loki, who hadn't even moved a bit, found himself teleported away. He was flabbergasted. This guy definitely had many tricks up his sleeve. If he had noticed his surroundings, he would have seen a kunai embedded nearby in the sand, which had special letters on it.

"There.. You can go away now." Rei said as he removed the kunai from his neck and allowed him to move. Loki, after being freed, touched his neck and then saw the blood on his fingers. He was incensed, but he knew that if he took a step in the wrong direction now, he might die here. This guy could do teleportation magic and illusion magic like him. And even had the strength to defeat his brother and hold him down too. So he was not normal or even human.

"You have committed the most horrifying crime of your life, mortal." Loki gritted his teeth and said.

"Oh! And we will gloss over the fact that you just lied to your brother? About your father's demise? And thus denied the rightful prince of the throne?" Rei asked. Loki didn't seem surprised that Rei heard their talk, but even knowing that he was lying was a different matter.

"You know too much." Loki said, ready to fight this guy again as he almost summoned two daggers in his hands.

"As I said, I don't care about your family drama, nor your small insecurities. Do whatever you want. But meddle in my affairs or else we will have problems. This is the only and last warning you will get." Rei said. Loki's hands were itching as he felt Rei might rat him out to Thor later but he didn't dare do anything. This guy was fast and powerful, and thus posed a huge threat to Loki. Only one thing could humble this guy and that was the Destroyer.

He secretly vowed to himself that he would bring the Destroyer down and kill this guy.

"We will see about your hollow warnings." Loki said and in the next moment he vanished. Of course, he didn't actually teleport away, he just became invisible and left slowly. Rei could feel him through his Mind's Eye but he didn't show it on his face. He walked away too. Too much stimulation for today. Defeating two brothers in a span of a couple of hours? Yeah, too much. He needed to sleep as he was sleepy now. The drama never ends.

Loki meanwhile was back at home after he went through one of the secret gates that only he knew how to use to go to different realms. And as he was back, he was fuming with anger. He vowed to himself that he would take Rei down after he was done with the Frost Giants.
