Chương 54

It didn't take long for Daichi and Hana to get their IDs as Rei had made them pre-prepared since he had Allied Universal under him. After all, he had always known that he would one day tell his parents. It was a bit sad for them that Kakashi and the others got to see it before themselves. But they didn't put much thought into that. Their son was now probably a one-in-a-million genius. No, sorry, probably the only genius that could travel between universes.

[A/N: Oh my sweet summer children] Though they weren't sure how Rei knew that they were different universes, they trusted him since it was his technique. But they also couldn't stay there for a longer time, which saddened them a bit, but regardless they were happy that they would be here more often. Rei had already given them permission to go in and out of the two universes whenever they pleased. This brought smiles to their faces.

Though they didn't punish Daniel and Laura, it didn't mean that they would get by easily. Hana had already told Laura and Daniel to bring groceries as she found the whole list of groceries being so readily available fascinating. So for the next few days, it was suffice to say that the Amagi family had turned over a new leaf. The interior of the home had changed quite a bit. Better mattresses, better furniture, better utensils..

All in all, even though the Amagi family couldn't show it outwardly, they were probably the wealthiest family in Konoha. No sorry, maybe in the whole world, if one could convert the currencies they had into gold bars. But sadly, they could never show it and instead carry on with their lives. "Take care of rats? Get the rat poison."

"Bring herbs from the forests? Naah.. We can just ask Daniel to run to the market and buy them, which are better in quality." Every mission was finished with such efficiency that Hiruzen really thought maybe it was better to send B-rank missions from next time. But that could wait as the Chunin Exams were finally here. Rei had noticed that the village was filled with people that he had never seen before and with headbands signifying different villages. The moment he saw that, he knew what was coming.

And the whole situation really did put a smile on his face. This was both dangerous but also filled with opportunities. He knew what was coming and he wouldn't try to change all of it, but some of the things he could definitely take advantage of. And Rei didn't have to wait for the first spark. Naruto met up with Konohamaru and they, along with Naruto, pissed Sakura off and thus all had to run, only to bump into Kankuro and his team. Some things never change huh!

"I don't like small things.. Makes me want to break them.." Kankuro smirked, giving the dirtiest smile possible and was ready to punch the little kid only to be stopped by Rei just in time, by holding his arm with a firm grip.

"Now.. Now.. You can't be so rude to your hosts, don't you think so Kankuro?" Rei spoke as he pulled his arm.

"What.. Who.. are you.." Kankuro was not only having a hard time getting away from the grip but was also horrified that someone even knew his name. At the end he had to give up Konohamaru and finally pull himself away from this boy that had just appeared. Temari too was in full alert mode now.

"Me? I am Rei. This is Naruto.. This is Sakura and that up there is Sasuke. We are Team 7." Rei again gave a very warm smile as he spoke. It seemed like the small conflict that had just happened didn't have any impact on his mood at all. It was very jarring. Even Sasuke, who was up in the tree, found it very odd.

"What the hell will I do with this information? How do you know my name? Answer me that!" Kankuro could feel as if Rei was mocking him here.

"C'mon, isn't it customary for the host to know who their guests are? Don't you think so too, Temari?" Rei said. This alone made the two of them stiffen up. They didn't know what to do. They wanted to start a fight right there but the way Rei had held his hand before made Kankuro think twice. He was thinking if it was worth starting a fight. And besides HOW DOES HE KNOW US? Does he know more about us since he knew our names?

"Kankuro... Have you been creating problems again?" came a voice so deep and almost cruel that it made everyone feel a chill down their spine. They all looked up and saw Gaara standing upside down from the other branch of the tree that Sasuke was sitting upon. Sasuke was beyond shocked that someone could sneak up on him with such silence.

"Ahh.. Gaara.. The three siblings are here. Your brother here was being rude so I had to stop him." Rei said. Gaara, who didn't pay much attention to Rei in the beginning, after being called out had to look at Rei now.

"You know who I am?" Gaara asked with the same raspy tone.

"Weren't you listening all this time? You need to pay more attention to the people around you, bro." Rei said, maintaining that smile.

"I don't pay attention to nobodies. But you.. You are different.. Once the exam starts, I will kill you first." Gaara said. He didn't seem fazed by the fact that Rei knew his name. It was actually good that others knew his name. Unlike Kankuro and Temari. They had ulterior motives for coming here, to this village. Gaara meanwhile, was here for the hunger of blood.

"Oh. Sure. I would love to fight against you." Rei replied. He didn't seem to feel the bloodlust Gaara was oozing out. Kankuro and Temari wanted to ask how he knew them, but if they did so they might invoke suspicions from this guy. But the knowledge Rei possessed had made both of them alert and they needed to tell this to their higher-ups. Gaara meanwhile was glad to see someone not running away from him and someone who was able to see eye to eye with him. This gave him all the thrills.

Soon they left, leaving behind quite confused people.

"Hey.. Rei.. What is going on? Who are they?" Naruto asked. Then Rei went on to explain the Chunin Exams after Konohamaru and his friends left and how they would probably be recommended by Kakashi-sensei and, as if on cue, Kakashi showed up.

"He is right.. I recommended every one of you for the exams."

"What? Really? That means I can become a chunin after I pass the exams?" Naruto was beyond elated. He had wanted to further his career and suddenly, out of nowhere, the opportunity had arrived. Sasuke meanwhile was thinking about the trio and asked instead.

"Those three? Rei. How do you know them?" Sasuke asked. Kakashi, who had just arrived, also heard from Sakura what had happened and thus he too was curious how Rei knew them.

"The village has been seeing an influx of people from different villages so I thought about spying on some of them for the past few days during my free time. That's how I knew their names and other small bits of information. Kankuro, the one with purple paint, is good with puppets and thus he was able to tug on Naruto's shoes using fine chakra control. Temari is a wind-style shinobi and Gaara.. Well. I don't know anything about him but I can tell you he is strong. Very strong."

Rei used lies to cover up his knowledge. He could tell more about Gaara but it was better to just show them. After all, if the story went as the original, Lee would fight Gaara and everyone would get to see his ability anyway. Kakashi meanwhile was impressed that Rei would do something like this. The more he looked at him, the more he was sure that Rei would definitely pass the exams. This guy always thought so many steps ahead. No, brother. I just know the plot.
