Phase I 1. With proper written consent you can get half of the talents/abilities/skills (full body constitution) of anyone. 2. After defeating a person and getting a written consent, you can get all the talents/abilities/skills (including body constitution) of the said person. When Rei sat at his futon and read through all the new memories that he had just received from nowhere, he understood that this was his "Great Sage" equivalent after landing here.

Of course the above was just a summary of his ability that he had just received, and it was a bit more complex than that but these were the main points of his ability. With a wave of his hand, a page materialized in his hand. The page was pristine, structured and cold. At the top, bold lettering appeared:"Ability Transfer Contract – Authorization" Below it, lines of text arranged themselves neatly, far too neatly.

Terms and Conditions: *The User (Rei Amagi) will copy half of the abilities through mutual contractual agreement. *Consent must be willing, informed, and acknowledged. *Partial acquisition grants 100% compatibility transfer. *Forced extraction without consent is prohibited. *The user will grow according to the growth rate of the entity/person. *The entity/person is prohibited to speak/write about this binding or any secrets related to the user (Rei Amagi) to any third entity/person.

*The user might take time to get full control over his abilities depending upon the diligence of the user. Rei's eye twitched slightly.

"… Ah yes. Of course. Even in another world, I still can't bypass consent laws." He actually found it a bit hilarious reading the first lines on the page. And just like the previous time another page materialized, but the words were a bit different now. *The User (Rei Amagi) will be able to copy all of the abilities/techniques through mutual contractual agreement. *Full acquisition grants 100% compatibility transfer. *Full acquisition requires defeat condition + written consent (can use force for consent).

*The user will grow according to the growth rate of the entity/person. *The entity/person is prohibited to speak/write about this binding or any secrets related to the user (Rei Amagi) to any third entity/person. *The user might take time to get full control over his abilities depending upon the diligence of the user. He reread the lines. Then again and then one more time.

"…So I beat someone up…"

"…and then politely/forcibly ask them to sign a contract?" There was a long silence. Rei slowly leaned back.

"…This is the most ridiculous and bureaucratic power I have ever seen." The page flickered slightly, as if offended.

"…Don't glare at me," Rei muttered.

"You're literally paperwork." But internally he was very happy. He didn't know if the memories that he had received were true or not but seeing the page that had materialized out of thin air, like an instinct, something told him that this was true. And this was just the Phase I. The next morning arrived far too quickly for Rei's liking. It was because he had slept quite late after the initial excitement. Adrenaline was high, and for the first time he saw hope in this world, so of course he was beyond jubilant.

Rei sat cross-legged on the floor, staring at the page in front of him.

"…Alright," he muttered.

"If this works, great."

"If it doesn't, I'll pretend nothing happened." Rei said as he got up and walked out.

"Mom, I am going out."

"Be safe." Hana shouted from inside the kitchen. Rei went to get some raw meat and some food items from a nearby shop and went straight to a small opening where he had seen some dogs before. And luckily he noticed one dog roaming the streets around. The dog didn't even need to be called. The smell of food was enough to attract the attention and it came running, waging it's tail. Suffice to say, this dog was all over the moon, as it could feel that the person was going to feed him.

"So Tommy.. You will be fed today.. You better pay it back." Rei said, and if someone was nearby they would think that the kid had gone mental as he was talking a language they had never heard before. Of course the dog wouldn't understand his words. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. Soon rei fed them with his hands. The dog was beyond happy and licked his hand too.

Rei just smiled at it's enthusiasm and after couple of minutes and eating and making the dog's stomach full. After doing the deed, Rei proceeded to summon the contract.

"So Tommy, can I get half of your abilities? Of course not the constitution as I don't want to turn myself into a dog." BARK"I will take that as a yes." BARK Rei then proceeded to grip his paw as lightly as possible and use the dirt as the paint and proceeded to make a paw print on the contract paper. Rei was expecting some kind of reaction from the paper but there was none. This made him feel disappointed.

"Didn't I feed this dog? Was it not enough for a consent? Or does the dog not understand consent? Sigh!" Rei was very disappointed but seeing the dog still waging its tail and responding to the touches of him, he couldn't help but let the disappointment wash away. Who could remain disappointed at this adorable face? So that left him with humans who were intelligent. Since the un-intelligent couldn't understand consent.

He wanted to go for children his age but they would probably never understand consent like he did, so that left with grown ups. And that pool was very small. Sigh! Only one person is available for this. A few moments later, he walked back home and at the main room where Hana was sorting medical supplies and go to the hospital for her work.

"Rei," she said without looking up.

"You're back early. Where did you even go?"

"I need your signature." Hana froze. Slowly she turned her head.

"…I'm sorry?" Rei held out the floating page and was completely serious.

"Please read it and sign on it." There was a pause, a very long one. Hana blinked twice or thrice maybe. Then she looked at the page and then at her son. But at the end she did what any mother would do in this kid of situation. Laugh. Or at least she tried to stop the laugh.

"…Pfft—" She covered her mouth but miserably failed.

"Hahahaha—!" Rei stood there. Completely still and serious. Hana leaned back slightly, laughing harder now.

"You… you want me to sign this?" she asked between laughs.

"Yes."

"…Do you even know what a contract is?" Rei looked at her with a deadpan face.

"…Yes."

"…Oh." That answer came a little too fast. She took the page anyway, still amused.

"Alright then, let's see what my very serious son has prepared…" Her eyes scanned the page. Reading the words as casually as she can. The smile didn't disappear. But it did… pause.

"Hmm…" Rei watched her closely.

"Please make sure you understand everything written there," he said calmly. The dog didn't and that had created a problem for him. He was essentially using his mother as a guinea pig. A glorious one, sure, and though there was assurance from the contract which was his cheat, but that didn't mean he would trust his cheat 100%.

"Consent must be informed." Hana froze again and looked up to him.

"…You're saying that like you've done this before."

"…No," Rei replied. I wish I could.

"…But it's important." Hana looked back at the page. This time more attentively. Her medical instincts were kicking in, not because of the content… But because of the structure. The clarity and the intent behind the wording. This didn't look like something that a 5 year old could even think, let alone write. But here it was. She had always known that her kid was an intellectual genius but this was something else.

"…Rei," she said slowly, "You surprise me from time to time..." Rei just smiled at her compliment.

"Well," she said lightly, "If my son went through the effort of making such a detailed 'legal document'…" She tapped the page.

"…the least I can do is play along." She found a pen nearby and signed her name at the Signatory________. And just like that, she signed. The moment her name was written, the paper vanished from her sight and she suddenly from nowhere came to the realization that the paper she had signed was actually real. Her eyes went wide.

"…Rei?" She was breathing heavily now.

"What was that?"

"My ability..." Before Rei could even explain what it was and feel relieved that nothing untoward happened to his mother, his body suddenly felt warm. It was as if something else was introduced in his body and before he knew he felt dizzy.

"…Ah—" His vision blurred and the warmth turned into heat. The heat turned into pressure. His small body trembled. Hana's instincts kicked in immediately.

"Rei?" But Rei didn't respond, because in that moment. His body was experiencing something it had never known before. Wait, there was some before but not so much of it. Chakra.

"Rei!" His breathing became uneven.

"…Too much…" His hand instinctively clutched his chest. Then everything went dark and His body went limp.

"REI!" Hana caught him before he hit the ground. In an instant, the laughter from moments ago was completely gone. Replaced by pure panic.

"Rei... Rei, look at me!" No response. Her hands moved fast. Years of training taking over. Pulse check, breathing, temperature.

"…Heartbeat's irregular—" Her other hand moved to his abdomen. Then his chest amd Chakra sensing. And then, she froze.

"…No…" Her eyes widened.

"…This… this isn't possible…" She could feel it. Clear as day. Chakra pathways and active one at that. And with an amount that wasn't possible for such a kid or at least she had never seen before.

"…He didn't have this yesterday… No this wasn't supposed to be present on anyone at this age, at least not at this amount. This is too much and too sudden." Her breathing grew heavier.

"…Rei…" Her grip tightened slightly as she held him closer.

"This isn't natural…" Her mind raced. Trying to make sense of what she was feeling. Medical logic, shinobi knowledge and loads of experience. But none of it explained this. And then a realization hit her. The contract. Her eyes widened further.

"…That wasn't a joke…" Her gaze dropped to Rei's unconscious form.

"…That was real." A chill ran down her spine. And then, another realization followed. She opened her mouth...

"I need to—" Her voice stopped. Her throat tightened and no sound came out.

"…!" She tried again.

"I have to tell—" Nothing but silence followed. Then she remembered that clause which she had casually read before. The entity/person is prohibited to speak/write about this binding… Her eyes trembled slightly.

"…I can't…" She tried again. No matter how she framed the words, no matter how she tried to say it, her voice simply… refused.

"…I can't tell anyone…" Her grip on Rei tightened slightly. Because even thinking it clearly made her chest feel heavy.

"…Not even…" She closed her eyes.

"…Alright…" Her voice was quieter now. The panic didn't disappear. But it was pushed aside. Because right now, she wasn't just a mother. She was a medical-nin. And her patient was her son.

"Focus…" she whispered. She adjusted his position carefully. Supporting his head and regulating his breathing. Her hand glowed faintly with chakra.

"…Your body isn't used to it…" She could feel it clearly now. The sheer imbalance of the spiritual side and the body size.

"…Too much too fast…"

"…Slow down…" Gradually Rei's breathing steadied. The chaotic flow of chakra began to calm. Not fully controlled but no longer violent. Hana let out a quiet breath.

"…Good…" Her hand trembled slightly. Because now that he was stable. She had time to think. And thinking… Was the worst part. Her eyes lingered on Rei's face.

"…What have you brought into this world…" she whispered. The room was silent. What started as a joke… Had now become something far beyond her understanding. And she was the only one who knew.
