After breakfast, the 3 of us prepared for the day, we all took a bath together, and I had to fight off Sarah's advances as we sat in the tub. We just didn't have the time currently. It was traditional for Nobles of Diablos to wear Military Uniforms when bidding people goodbye. Sarah had dressed in a lovely red dress that contrasted her beautiful white hair. Anna wore a charming black dress that fit her body well and added to the look of her dark-green hair and eyes. They were dressed appropriately as Wives of a Nobleman. But having more time together does still sound nice." Anna spoke as we began to walk. Both my Wives had bright smiles on their faces, and I did as well as we made our way through town. We walked to the Southern Gate to see off the 400 or so Humans that were leaving. As we walked, our moods evened out.

As we walked through the street, we noticed the mood was dour. Demons and Humans were.... Crying while bidding goodbye to each other?" Who would've thought it would get like this?"" didn't you want them to form bonds?"" Yeah... But... I didn't want everyone to be so sad... How could they get so close to each other in a month?" As the words left my mouth, I began to think about what I've done... I may have messed up. I didn't want my citizens to be this hurt by the Humans leaving.

Demon children were hugging Human children and were bawling their eyes out. While I was shocked by what I saw, Sarah began to speak to me. Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Both of them greeted us in unison. They seemed a little down, but they seemed mostly upbeat, all things considered. Strange, I thought Emily would be more torn up about the Humans leaving, but her eyes seemed a bit... Sparkly?" You guys seem... Pretty upbeat considering today's event?" I couldn't help but voice my thoughts.

They both seemed confused, but Ruby answered me pretty fast." Well, I've always known that they would leave. However, I have become Friends with my Students, as well as people like Emily and Wendy, but they're staying. I'd be more upset if they would leave.... Even more so if a certain someone would..." Her voice trailed off at the end there? I couldn't fully hear her words though. Sarah and Anna apparently did, since they both twitched as she spoke. Emily did as well... What did she say?" I have to admit...

I'm also quite sad. But I'm also excited about the future! I think you'll change the world with your production of these "dairy products" and I want to be there while it happens! Also.... There are some other reasons..." Emily spoke as if to take the focus off of Ruby's strange behavior. Due to the fact that she did the same thing as Ruby, I guess she was a success at taking the attention? I sat there puzzled by them both. Poke! While I was looking at them, Sarah jabbed me in the side.

It seems she wants me to answer Emily's enthusiasm with my own words. I guess I should... I'd rather her think of me as a "good boss" rather than a bad or cold one. Emily was looking at me with an expectant look in her eyes. You would think as a 24-year-old, she wouldn't act so...

"Child-like", I guess would be the word? It was kind of cute if I was being honest. I should hurry up and answer. The time for departure is coming." I look forward to you working with me as well. I hope I can meet your expectations in the future, Emily. Also, yours as well, Ruby. I mean you're going to be there too, right?" I turned to Ruby and spoke to her at the end of my sentence, but apparently, she didn't hear me? She was looking at me though, with a blank look on her face. She must have been lost in thought."

Ruby!"" Woah!" I called to her again, this time, she heard me." Yes! Lord Matthew! I look forward to watching you as well!" Watching me? I guess that is a way you could see it as well? /GONG! GONG! /" Ah. It's time." My thoughts were stopped in their tracks as the gonging of the bell on the Southern Gate had begun. I spoke as I made the realization that we had to move out of the way of the Gate to watch as all of the Humans began their journey down South to Kuga.

With the conversation cut short, Ruby and Emily seemed a bit disappointed. I guess they really enjoy talking to us? Time will tell if they'll eventually grow sick of me while we work together. However, I figured I might give them a chance to continue chatting with Sarah and Anna." Hey, Ruby, Emily, would you like to stand with us as the Humans leave? You guys can stand next to Sarah and Anna and talk a bit as we watch them walk down the road."" Absolutely!"" I'd love to!"

Ruby, and then Emily, responded to me and seemed happy to be able to join us. There's no rule against having them join us as people leave, in fact it might help the Humans feel better. To see that Emily is standing with the Marquess and his Wives, with her faithful Bodyguard by her side. At least that's the hope. Hopefully this makes them understand I won't be mistreating those left behind. Once we arrived at the designated spot, something special happened as the Humans had gathered at the Southern Gate."

Lord Matthew! Thank you for all of your help this past month!" They all cheered in unison. Smiles and tears decorated their faces as they passed by and bid farewell to Emily. I was just glad they didn't fear me as if I was some grim reaper anymore. The sun was setting by the time the last person was gone into the horizon. At the end of it, we all returned to the city. We split up after we reached the town square. The fact that her people were gone, had finally seemed to dawn on Emily and she seemed quite sad.

I hope she can feel better in time. Maybe I should make her job a lot more fun than simply doing paperwork for the foreseeable future? But how to go about doing that is a question I couldn't find an answer to...
