Chương 66: Let's go Team Choza

Shunsui walked out of the orphanage on a bright morning as the Chunin Exams were about to begin. Months had passed since Team Choza got their jutsus from the Village jutsu archive library and it was finally time for Chunin exams. Shunsui adjusted his straw hat and took a deep breath before stepping outside. As Shunsui walked out of the orphanage, he heard the matron say, "Do your best brat and don't you dare be lazy today. Show everyone your will of fire."

The old woman stood at the door with her hands on her hips and a serious look on her face. Shunsui could only sigh. In her mind, every small task in the orphanage was part of serving the village and proving the strength of Konoha. She waved her hand as if sending him off to a great battle instead of just a set of exams. Shunsui just nodded with his straw hat and walked out of the orphanage while releasing his chakra pressure to pressure one particular person or rather kid hiding in the bush.

The pressure was not too strong but enough to freeze the hidden child in place for a few moments. Ika who was lying in wait behind the bush with a real kunai in hand that he had stolen from one of the shinobi training grounds was frozen on the spot as Shunsui walked out of the orphanage. The young boy held his breath and gripped the kunai tightly but could not move under the sudden weight of chakra.

When the pressure disappeared, Ika jumped out and shouted, "Next time I will surely assassinate you big brother Shunsui just you watch your back." The little kid waved his kunai in the air with a big grin and tried to look threatening. Shunsui still lived in the orphanage even after learning about his real parents. He now knew he had parents in this world even if they were dead and he belonged to two clans where there might be some of his relatives but he still preferred living in the orphanage.

The matron was an old woman who was suffering from village propaganda and manipulation so it was up to him to make sure the kids at the orphanage did not become victims of the propaganda and to make sure the old matron did not hurt her back while trying to clean the kids messes. Shunsui was headed straight towards the training ground where Choza sensei was waiting for the team to give his final piece of advice before Chunin exams starts.

He walked through the busy streets and noticed how lively the village had become. He saw that the village was filled with visitors from not only the land of fire but various other lands as well. People from different countries walked around with excitement, buying souvenirs and talking about the upcoming exams. The shops were crowded and the inns were full with travelers who came to watch the young genin compete.

'Despite their being a war going on, people still have come to watch kids fight and try to kill each other in a little competition. They should just go to the frontline and see the battle there. Let's see if they could hold it in their stomachs after seeing the bloodbath.' Shunsui thought as he passed a group of laughing visitors.

'Well I guess the village needed this boost in tourism and with the results of Chunin exams if we do well, they could get more funding for the war through more missions. Heck, smaller nations might just switch sides after they see the strength of Konoha genin. Well, that is, if we do good.' Shunsui thought while continuing his walk. He himself knew that he was ready. He could use his Shikai without the full activation poem. He had mastered the two jutsus that he had taken from the village jutsu archive.

He had also managed to master the Samurai techniques that he had managed to partly copy during their test in the land of claws. His physical attributes were also pretty high considering he could now walk with 80 pounds in each of his limbs. Though it was nothing compared to Guy who was at 180 pounds per limb.

'I can't compare myself to the blue beast of Konoha in madness.' Shunsui thought with a small laugh. When he reached the training ground, he realised he was the last one to arrive. His two teammates and Choza sensei had already arrived. Guy immediatly looked at him seriously which made Shunsui serious too. And out of nowhere, he said, "If we fight, don't you hold back your power of Youth Shunsui." Shunsui was taken by surprise but he chuckled.

"Sure Guy. Just make sure to bring your own power of youth to overwhelm mine first." Guy nodded and gave him a thumbs up with white shining teeth.

"You can hold back against me," Genma added making Shunsui chuckle again.

"Alright my little genin. I know that you all 3 have a good chance to become chunin so do your best. And just remember that whether you make it to chunin or not, we are having a barbeque party at the end of it," Choza said. He looked at each of them with warm eyes full of pride.

"Go out there and show the world the spirit of Team Choza. Whether you return as chunin or not, you will always be my precious students. You have everything you need inside you to succeed. Believe in yourselves and in your teammates." The three genins nodded and shouted at the same time,"Let's go Team Choza!"
