Chương 61: What does lots of money mean?

Choza looked at his three genin students with a big smile on his face as he waved bundles of ryo notes in his hands. The money was fresh from their payment for the successful mission in the Land of Claws.

His voice was full of joy because he loved rewarding his students after tough missions. He looked at each genin one by one, waiting for their answers with a hopeful expression on his face. "More training? Extra push ups and 10km run?" Guy asked excitedly. Shunsui said, "Retiring from being a shinobi and becoming a farmer on the countryside?" He had expected better guesses from his students, especially after such a big success. I am proud of how you all handled yourself in the mission," Choza said with a smile as he puffed his big belly. "There would be no more missions for you for the next couple months until the end of chunin exams. You have done more than the required number of missions required to participate in the chunin exams," Choza continued.

"We will be having barbeque for dinner. For now, we train. I would be training you not only for the chunin exams but also the war," Choza said. His voice became more serious when he mentioned the war. The large man explained that they needed to be ready for anything because the conflict with other villages was getting worse. "Taijutsu is my path, Shunsui," Guy said resolutely. He stood straight with his fists tight, showing he had thought about this a lot. His eyes were full of conviction about his choice.

"Is it because your father cannot use ninjutsu? If so then your father would be disappointed that you are not making use of the gift that he did not have. I am sure he would like to see his son incorporating ninjutsu into his taijutsu to make it even stronger," Shunsui said.

"Incorporating ninjutsu into taijutsu...." Guy muttered then his eyes brightened up. The idea seemed to click in his mind like a sudden spark of inspiration. He then had tears in his eyes as he jumped at Shunsui in a bone tight hug.

"Shunsui... you... you are really my best friend.... you stopped me from walking down the wrong path. For that I am truly thankful to you." Guy's voice was full of emotion as he squeezed his friend tightly. The hug was so strong that Shunsui's face turned a bit red from the pressure. Guy's powerful arms wrapped around him like steel bands, lifting him slightly off the ground in excitement.

"It's not a problem but could you stop squeezing the life out of me..... you have got quite a strong grip. Never thought I would say it to a boy," Shunsui said. His voice came out strained and funny as he patted Guy's back weakly. Guy finally let go after a few more seconds, still with happy tears in his eyes, while Shunsui straightened his kimono and hat, breathing heavily like he had just finished a tough fight. Choza laughed as he nodded at Shunsui.

"Alright. I have got some chakra papers with me. Take each one of them and let us see which chakra nature all of you have an affinity with." Choza handed them each a chakra paper.
