Chương 38: The doctor's power

The three stood together, staring down Hogsthawts. For a moment, the wasteland was completely silent. Mochi grinned.

"Alright. Three against one." Ace drew his blades.

"Don't get cocky. This guy isn't like anyone we've fought before."

"He is a sage after all so be on guard.." Amelia nodded.

"Let's stay together." Hogsthawts chuckled.

"Aww, how touching." Mochi suddenly dashed forward.

"I'll go first!" He closed the distance in an instant and threw a punch. Hogsthawts casually tilted his head, letting it pass by. Mochi's eyes widened.

"What?" Hogsthawts grabbed his wrist and threw him into the ground. Mochi rolled across the dirt before quickly getting back up. Ace rushed in.

"Magic Skill: Fireballs!" Several blue fireballs flew toward Hogsthawts. Hogsthawts simply stepped between them. Ace appeared behind him.

"Got you." He swung both blades. Hogsthawts flipped dodging them all. Ace's eyes widened.

"He just dodged with so little time..." Hogsthawts smiled.

"You're quick." He kicked Ace in the stomach. Ace was sent flying.

"ACE!" Amelia charged in.

"Magic Skill: Cracker Missiles!" A barrage of crackers flew toward Hogsthawts. He raised one hand and slammed it into the ground.

"Magic Skill: Gravity Field." The air suddenly became heavy. The crackers dropped straight to the ground. Amelia's eyes widened.

"Huh?!" Hogsthawts appeared in front of her. She barely blocked his punch. The force sent her skidding backward.

"He's so strong..." Hogsthawts smiled. Mochi suddenly appeared from behind. Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

"You're wide open!" He swung his fist. Hogsthawts turned and caught it.

"Am I really?" Hogsthawts twisted his arm and slammed Mochi into the ground again. Mochi groaned. Hogsthawts was about to slam his fist at Mochi"Die, filthy demon!" Ace charged back in. He swung one blade toward Hogsthawts. Hogsthawts leapt just in time. A cut was left on his cheek however.. Ace followed with another strike. Then another. Hogsthawts avoided every single one. Ace gritted his teeth.

"Stand still!" Hogsthawts ducked under his blade.

"You haven't even made me move properly yet." He struck Ace across the chest. Ace flew backward. Mochi and Amelia rushed him simultaneously. Mochi powered up"Magic skill: burning Mochi!" Amelia attacked from the opposite side.

"Magic skill: Cracker bullets!" Hogsthawts began typin on a magic keyboard"Magic skill: Cyber shield!" Two giant shields came from each side defending Hogsthawts from the attacks.. The two stared at him.

"No way..." Hogsthawts pushed them both away.

"You're improving..."

"That I can't deny.." He adjusted his glasses.

"But the difference between us is enormous."

"It's like comparing a God to an ant." Ace charged forwards with blinding speed"DON'T BE SO FULL OF YOURSELF!" Mochi and Amelia rushed beside him.

"Together." Amelia nodded.

"Together." The three charged at once. Ace powered up a blue miniature sun.. Mochi came from one side... Amelia came from the other side. For the first time, Hogsthawts was impressed...

"Impressive magic power coming from those three.." Mochi grinned.

"We got him!" The three said in unison..

"MAGIC SKILL: SUPER VOYAGE BREAK!" The blue sun now wrapped in blue and red energy shot at Hogsthawts.. Hogsthawts suddenly disappeared.

"What?!" He reappeared above the attack.

"Magic Skill: Gravity Field." The attack was instantly shut down.. Mochi's eyes widened.

"He stopped super voyage break so easily?!" Ace gritted his teeth.

"This guy has an answer for everything doesn't he?!" Hogsthawts descended toward them.

"That's because you've been fighting me exactly how I expected." Amelia forced herself upright.

"Then we'll have to change how we fight." She raised her hands.

"Magic Skill: Cracker Wall!" A massive wall formed between them and Hogsthawts. He grined wafting his hand"Magic skill: Eradication Ray!" Amelia's eyes widened. The giant blast instantly blasted through the wall"Too easy!" Amelia's eyes widened..

"He broke it..." Mochi dashed forwards cocking him arm back and launching it forwards"Magic skill: Hand of mochi!" A giant Mochi hand formed as it caught the blast... Mochi was struggling..

"Cmon.. stop... the... attack!" Hogsthawts grinned"Your magic is impressive, even for dough demon filth..." He looked between the three.

"But your experience isn't."

"Your journey as voyager has merely only just begun.."

"And because of that.. you will die here!" Then Amelia and Ace backed Mochi up.. Each placing hands on his shoulder..

"You better stop this brat.. we're helping you out the best we can right now.. so make it count.." Ace said smirking.. Amelia nodded"Cmon.. we have to stop this.." Mochi looked at them..

"You guys.." He smirked"Yeah, you're right.."

"Let's show this guy everything we've got!"

"Magic skill: Hand of Mochi X3!!" With the help of Ace and Amelia's magic the hand tripled in size..

"You're right, we may lack the proper experience you have Hogsthawts.."

"Howver.."

"We'll just keep fighting until we figure you out!" Hogsthawts attack vanished as it was stopped The doctors eyes widdened in shock..

"No way.. they actually stopped it.."

"I can't be bested.."

"NOT BY A DOUGH DEMON!" Hogsthawts released his full power The shockwave blasted everyone backwards. Mochi slid several meters before stopping. Mochi stared.

"You're telling me he was holding back the whole time?!" Ace watched in shock.

"No.. it cannot be..." Hogsthawts slowly straightened his coat. He looked at the three. Then smiled.

"You three put up a decent fight..." His magic energy suddenly began rising. The atmosphere changed.

"I can tell how my hollow seven lost to the likes of you.." Hogsthawts adjusted his glasses.

"But now..." He stepped forward.

"... I'll show you the difference between us..." His eyes narrowed.

"... and you'll be shocked by the results." The three braced themselves. Ace tightened his grip.

"Don't panic. We can still..." Hogsthawts vanished. Ace's eyes widened.

"Where did he.." Hogsthawts appeared directly in front of him. A single kick sent Ace flying across the wasteland.

"ACE!" Mochi rushed forward.

"Magic Skill: burning mochi!" Hogsthawts caught his palm with one hand before the attack was even launched. Mochi's eyes widened.

"You're kidding me..." Hogsthawts twisted his arm and hurled him straight into the ground.

"TAKE THIS!" Mochi bounced once before crashing into the dirt. Amelia immediately fired.

"Magic Skill: Cracker Missiles!" Dozens of crackers shot toward Hogsthawts. He didn't even dodge. He simply raised his hand.

"Magic Skill: Gravity Field." The missiles dropped harmlessly before reaching him. Amelia froze.

"What...?" Hogsthawts appeared in front of her. She barely raised her arms before his fist struck her guard. The impact launched her backward. She tumbled across the ground, struggling to breathe.

"M-Mochi..." Mochi forced himself up.

"Amelia!" He charged. Hogsthawts stepped aside and drove his elbow into Mochi's back. Mochi was hardly able to dodge.. He aimed for a kick but it was blocked and Hogsthawts punched him in the face.. He then slammed his foot onto Mochi's chest so hard he coughed blood..

"Now.. today is the day you pay for your sins..." Amelia slowly got up..

"Enlighten us.."

"What did the dough demons do to you to deserve this hatred?" Hogsthats said"You really want to know?"

"Alright fine.. I'll tell you my story.."
