"That looks much better." Aren nodded in satisfaction once his vision cleared. Behind him, the Troupe watched everything he had done and felt the same thought pass through their minds.
'The deputy leader is inhuman.'
'I want to become that inhuman too.' After that, they encountered no real resistance. Most of the Fanobi forces had probably been concentrated in the previous ambush. Only when they reached a room deep inside the manor did they meet two bodyguards stationed by the door. Aren did not need to act. The others, who had been frustrated during the bombardment, rushed forward together and tore the guards apart before they could react. With the security gone, Aren lifted his foot and kicked the door into the room.
This time, however, the flying door was caught one-handed by an ordinary-looking middle-aged man, who then tossed it aside.
"Oh?" Aren instinctively used Gyo. The others did the same, focusing aura into their eyes. Under Gyo, the middle-aged man's life energy did not leak at all. He was clearly a Nen user. Behind him sat three people. An old man, a middle-aged man, and a young man. Aren had seen the Fanobi file. He recognized them as the true controllers of the family, the men on the first page. The patriarchs of the Fanobi Family. This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.
All three generations were gathered here. Eisenhower Fanobi, the eldest of the three, looked at the Troupe with a gloomy expression.
"Who are you? Why have you come after the Fanobi Family? Have we offended you, your family, or your friends?" Aren waved casually.
"No, no. You have not offended us, our family, or our friends..." Halfway through, he paused. Technically, Fanobi had killed Mo, the original owner of this body. But because they killed Mo, Aren had crossed into this world. He hesitated, then added, "Actually, that may not be right. In a way, you did kill me once." The Fanobis stared at him. First he said they had not offended him. Then he said they had killed him. If they had killed him, he should not be standing here.
Croft Fanobi, the young man in his twenties who was used to acting arrogantly in Gambi Town, could not hold back.
"What the hell are you trying to say, brat? One moment we did nothing, the next we killed you. If your head is broken, see a doctor before coming outside." The Troupe's expressions darkened. Before any of them could move, Archibald Fanobi, the serious middle-aged man beside Croft and the current head of the family, stood and slapped his son hard across the face. The sound echoed through the room.
"Idiot." Archibald looked at Croft coldly, then turned back to the Troupe with a friendly smile. He had already guessed that Aren was probably the leader of the group.
"Sir, my apologies. I failed to teach my son proper manners. If he offended you, the Fanobi Family is willing to offer compensation." Aren raised his eyebrows.
'That was clean.' No wonder this man could become the family head.
"Sir, surely you jest. The Fanobi Family..." Aren did not let him finish. He raised one hand and cut through the air. In the next instant, he appeared beside Croft. The Nen user the Fanobi Family had found from somewhere only had time for his eyes to widen. Aren struck Croft's neck with a knife-hand strike. This time, the target was not the head but the throat. Under The Hand, Croft Fanobi's neck was erased without resistance, leaving a clean gap through the flesh.
Aren caught the falling head and placed it in Archibald Fanobi's arms. Archibald accepted it instinctively.
"See?" Aren whispered beside his ear in a malicious tone.
"I was not joking." Archibald looked down at his son's wide-eyed head.
"Croft..." No matter how disappointed he had been in Croft, the boy was still his son and the legitimate heir of the next generation. Rage and grief flooded Archibald's mind, destroying his reason. With burning eyes, he drew the revolver at his waist and fired at Aren's face. Aren only yawned. The bullet stopped strangely three or four centimeters away from him. Archibald emptied all six rounds. In the end, the one bullet frozen in midair became six. His face twisted.
"How can a monster like you exist?"
"How rude," Aren said, sounding offended.
"You know what this is, don't you? It is only my Nen."
"Besides, I can also do this." He twisted his finger slightly. The bullets suspended in midair turned toward Archibald.
