Chương 71: INVISIBILTY COME FORTH!

Nebe nebe! You dumb! Use your invisibility! Why don't you use your invisibility! That's probably what you're thinking right now. And I'm glad to tell you that if you were in my place right now? You would have been lynched and thrown away from the brothel. Child or not. Medieval punishments, are medieval punishments.

"What again kid?" An annoyed fucking voice brings me out of my pondering. That's why, I start sliding away from the north gate, the flow still activated. It's thick around me, and in me. It changes my movement, and gently spreads around me in the street. Even then though. This man saw me. He's a random man really. Pretty young. A dagger at his hip while leaning on the baby walls that circle the village, they're getting bigger.

He has a sort of poncho that covers most of his body, and an odd wide brimmed hat that lets the rain fall on him and slide down on the street below. He's not alone. He has some friends. Two of them. All of them are pretty big. And young. Something you don't usually see in the village. Apart from people that... work. So tell me, why are three young people chilling just beside one of the only opening of the walls? Why is there three able bodied workers chilling. EVERY-SINGLE-DAY at the opening of the gate?

The one farmers take everyday to go work on the field, the one lumberjacks take everyday to gather some wood from the dying forest, the one hunters take to gather some meat, no matter how pricey it is now. Why are they here? Well, that's simple, the three of them make up the guards of the north gate. Not officially though. There's no guards in my village. There's no police. When there's small issue, it's a civil matter and everyone deal with it however they can. When there's a big issue? My grandfather appears.

The first time I went out of the village to spy on the academy, I already noticed that, there are four openings in the wall around the city. North. South. East. West. Only the north opening is still relied to the rich district. And that's where I usually go to practice. I don't pass by the opening in the walls, never, I already suspected something weird with those guys. So usually, I climb over the baby walls, and then go practice. However, those last few days. I've been leaving to the fields from this entrance.

The single and only gate -which is, for now, just an empty hole in the middle of the walls that are being built- just for that. To test out something I've been pondering, and have been suspecting for a while. My invisibility.... isn't that great? Well, no, it's still great it's just that it has some proble-!

"You deaf or what? Stop fucking dancing befo-!" His friend, a leaner but older man with a hint of stubble under his chin grabs the angry man shoulder and stop his step.

"Leave it, maybe he doesn't know how to talk" The young man that was about to step toward me pushes his fellow guard hand away, and go back to leaning on the wall. Hands crossed beneath his chest while glaring at me. He's really aware of me. But like. A lot. All of them really. The three of them are aware of me. Even while I'm deep in the flow. The reason for that? Well, I'm not too sure.

But I believe it's because they're guards-unoficially-, they need to search something, they're working hard to find PEOPLE, seeing and cataloging everyone that leave and enter. And I'm one of those person that leave or enter. So they can see me. Now. Do you understand why I'm not just walking into the brothel? Guards are my one weakness. Which is a pretty bad weakness.

Turning around and sliding away with an annoying shuffling sound that my flow likes, I hear the same guard that has been pushed to his limits by my usual appearance those last few days say "And the fucker doesn't even leave! He's fucking with me, I kn-!"

"Bla bla bla, he's a kid, well my kid was well mannered compared to this litt-!" And his voice drone out as I turn to the right in an alley. Looks like little guardy has a problem with his kid being in the academy huh? Leaving the alley, I find myself in a random housing street, a man passes in front of me and I show him my middle finger. He completly ignores me. Well, more like he can't see me. I HATE GUARDS! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO ANYTHING IF MY INVISIBILITY WEAKNESS IS SEARCHING FOR ME!? Oh look nebe!

Here's your cheat! You can be invisible! But ONLY if people don't search for you! FUCKING USELESS! I'd be useless at hide and seek! Well. Now I'm stuck!.... Alright, maybe I'm not stuck stuck. I do have a last thing to try. Getting back in the alley I was in a second ago, I sit. Take a deep breath. And crush my flow like it was toothpaste and I was the tube. You know. I've been noticing something those last few weeks. The more I've been using my invisibility, the clearer my power rules became.

Well, not that clear since I'm in a bottleneck RIGHT NOW! But, there has been some things that happened, and that kind of confused me from time to time, but are now starting to feel like rules. For a first, my flow, when I first had it. It broke through my invisibility when I made noises. It lead me to believe that NOISE was the problem. That as long as I made no noise? Everything was fine. I push harder on my flow, harder, harder, my breathing quickens as it drips out of my body and diffuse in the air.

However, this notion was quickly disproved. Or at least, it put me in confusion when I realized that I was making sounds when I'm in the flow. When I follow the flow to become invisible. I do sounds. Most of the time I slide my foot on the ground, but other times I also just scratch my finger against a hard surface to make a pretty annoying sound. One that nobody hears. But that my flow likes. Just like it sometimes enjoy how I tap my foot on the ground and make quite a bit of sound while invisible.

WHICH MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE! If sound breaks my invisibility, why does making sound is FINE!? It's incompatible, doesn't make sense, BUT IT'S TRUE! Screaming breaks my invisibility. But sliding my feet helps. As I exhale from my mouth, I can almost feel the flow in my body escape and diluting in the air, before sticking around the wooden wall in front of me. Before tainting it and spreading on it to cover it like paint. It's something that kind of messed up my understanding.

And I couldn't really experiment with anyone or ask questions because... that's, well, telling someone I can be invisible sounds like a damn bad idea. Still, I used my invisibility more than once. When entering the library for example, that's when I first felt my flow leave my body. That's when I first felt it cover the buildings around me. The ground beneath me. Tainting the air like pollution.

Taking a deep breath, I focus, it's the first time I try to push my flow away from my body as hard as possible, and it answers by contaminating everything around me, until my flow slithers on the ground and crawl to the open street on my left, until it drags itself like a snail toward the north gate under my will. There was also the shop owner. Which. Now that I think about it. Was weird. I was being careful of the sound, because I was still confused about it.

And used someone else to enter, but he's a shop owner isn't he? I was here for hours, how couldn't he notice me? The only difference between my usual flow and the flow I used in his shop was the density. It was thick. It was everywhere, it was choking him, it was encircling and holding him hostage without him even noticing. It was everywhere. In the entire street. In the entire shop. In the people that walked in. My flow was everywhere. And he didn't found me. My current flow keeps spreading. And spreading.

Sweat drops on my face, the sun covered by grey clouds above me gets dimmer. How long has it been? How long did it take for my flow to dig inside the ground under my feet, to slide between the foundations of the wall, to climb over the guards body? The last example of it was the eagle. And it's really what threw me off. An eagle. It has good eyes. Good instincts. It was worried, searching for predator and prey. So why didn't it spot me? Why? The answer to this. I believe. Is pretty simple. My eyes open.

Wetness drips on my face, sticking to the top of my forehead and slinking down, passing over my nose, my eyes, my pupils, my eyelashes, my cheeks, my lips, and finishing with my chin as it falls down on the front of my coat. The rain falling on me feels refreshing. Pushing my foot under me and standing up is a challenge. My legs are like jelly. My entire body feels... weird. Why am I sweating so much? Looking up, the evening sky greets me. I started when it was morning. When I started, this alley was normal.

Now it feel sticky and warm. I can't see it. But I can feel it. It's like an otherworldly sense, a sixth sense. This sixth sense is how I feel my flow, manipulate it and do my magic. I can feel it. All of it. How polluted the air is, it's thick enough for me to choke in it. It chokes me. Every. Single. Breath. Of. Mine. Chokes. Me. It brings more of my own flow back in my body, the worse however is the rain that falls on me.

Every single drop is tainted beyond reason, the water that drops onto my skin, the flow in it, it digs back into my body as if my veins were thirsty for it. The wet wooden walls around me are dripping with my flow. It's like slime, everything is just above the normal density of life. And it makes the abnormality around me just that obvious. This alley isn't the only abnormal place however. The street that was in front of me a second before, and now around me. Is abnormal too.

The ground beneath my feet is drinking my flow as if it was the essence of life. But on a closer look, it's more like it's being force fed. It's as if I shoved my flow deep into it, as if I hinged the ground jaw open and shoveled my flow in it with no care of if it would enter or not, I shoved so much of it in it, it's more flow than ground now. The walls around me are the same. Tainted by the primary conductor of my flow. The rain.

It falls, every single drop infused with the energy that's deep within me, and every single drop transmute the plague to each and every single thing around. Humans included. My slides are loud as I get closer to the guards. They are loud. Really loud. They look tired, almost ready to leave and finish this day. Apart from this though? They look normal. They look like before. Bored, talking, killing time. To my other senses they look violated.

Every single drop of my flow coming from the rain and falling on their clothes, on their wide brimmed hat helps, they contaminate them a little bit more. Some of my flow gets washed away by their rain resistant clothing. However, they've been under the rain for too long. Water splattered. Water touched their visage, their hands while they waved around, or their hair when they stretched. It touched them. And with it my flow. It dug inside their body.

Under their boots first, climbing like a snake, trying to get inside their clothes and finding a way to bypass their thick boots. Their pants next, drenching them so much that my flow infused rain touched their bare skin and diluted into their skin, their chest next, their hands next, their neck next, and most importantly... their head next. My flow. It's there. Slickering. Abusing.

Ripping and digging into their ears, sliding in their nose and digging up through their nasal and oral cavities to reach their skull, to dig deeper, to infuse more of my flow in them until I feel my essence shoved into their brain so hard it's a cloudy mess in my sixth sense. My feet stop sliding when I'm just in front of the young man that talked to me before. I lift both hands and give him some fucks to care about. But he doesn't.

He doesn't care about those fucks because the flow in his brain is so fucking thick I don't even know if he's alive anymore. Why didn't the eagle spotted me? The answer to this. I believe. Is pretty simple. I don't think my power is invisibility anymore.
