Chương 29: Winning A Battle Of Wit At 2 Years Old

The woman looks middle aged, she have black hair, and squinting green eyes she's leveling at me right now. She's dressed pretty normally, clothes that look worse than my cloak. I don't know what Hatomo did but my cloak is crazy good, can't really compare her clothes to mine. Well, I guess I can? My clothes, under the cloak, looks worse than her. It's a pretty cool... shirt and pants. Black and sober, nothing much to say about this.

The rest of her have more to say though, she have glasses, just under her squinting green eyes. Hanging from her nose, there's no rim. The glasses are pretty small too, but big enough to make her squinting death glare bigger. Well, okay, maybe I'm exaggerating somewhat. She's not really giving me a death glare. She looks more annoyed and tired than anything, the big dark rings under her eyes prove that even more.

The whole agressivity in her posture looks more like annoyance if you think about it for a second, yes she has one arm crossed under her chest and the other tilted up to hold some kind of umbrella above her head. But maybe, her reason for looking like shit is because it's raining like hell, she doesn't have any jacket, and she's now busy dealing with a weird kid..... wait who even is she?

"Did you heard me kid?"

"I did" She blinks. Slowly, taking her sweet time to close her eyes, take a deep breath from her nose, and open her eyes again.

"So, why are you snoop&$#& around kid?" I can guess what the word is with context. But I'm currently boxed in against a library, by an adult, who looks annoyed/pissed, and I feel like every seconds to think about how to go forward is valuable. That's why, without any hesitation. Giving her a look, I decide to do something I had a lot of practice this last year. I lie.

"Oh, I was searching for something" She levels me a look.

"And that's why you were laughing like a little #_@&#""I don't know that word" Twitchy the twitchy eye "Doesn't matter, why were you laughing?"

"It's because I found my house key, and my parents-" I nod at a random house close to the library, on my right "-usually don't let me go out, and if I lost the key from home they would never let me go outside play in front of the house ever again. So now I'm happy because I found it" She looks at me for a two long second. Probably wondering what kind of kid fucking talks that well, and then, she turns her head around to look at the house I nodded at.

"The Kokubo's children's are in the &#-##-" Then, she turns her head, slowly, extremely slowly to give me a look. I give her the cutest smile I can muster.

"That's not my house""I know. Why did you said it was your house?"

"Last question" I perk up. And she gives my body a look, an up and down look. Maybe she's a weird fucking pedophile, but more likely, she's wondering what's wrong with my body. I grew up after all, and my uncontrollable movements are even more noticeable, especially if I stand still to talk to someone. The way she frowns for a second before ignoring whatever is happening with me tells me she was probably curious about this. Her question isn't about this.

Compared to Kiko the little devil, an adult is sensitive and doesn't ask questions about weird stuff, that's what people call, living in society.

"Why were you standing in the middle of the street for two minutes while staring at the library" My steps, who were carrying me away from the library and the weird woman freezes again. Ah.... I don't show any internal panic.

Instead, I push my hands against the inside of my cloak pockets to spread it around me and show it off.

"I have a shiny new cloak and I wanted to try it""By standing still. For two minutes?"

"Yes, I was comparing it's usefulness, I knew it worked while walking, but maybe the water would get in if I stood still, so I stood still""You're not two years old" she shakes her head around, a weird smile on her face.

"I am" She shakes her head again "No fuc-!" She stops her insult, remembering a kid's there, and then she tries again "No way, I wasn't talking like that when I was two, what kind of baby talk like that?"

"A smart one?" Her smile gets straight up devious.

"A smart kid that maybe want to... I don't know" She wave at the library "Get in a library to read some books?"... ah. Shit. We stay in the middle of the raining street for a while. One of her hand showing the library. I'm the one to break the silence.

"So, can I get in?"
