Chương 63: Theory Crafting And Putting Some Crumbs Around

Water magic sounds fun. Really fun. That's the kind of thought that's waging through my mind right now, tonight was something for sure, and I still really want to do water magic, but like.... Uh. Let's talk about something else instead, let's talk about the WEATHER! It's the same as when I figured out the thing with the flow, cause... it's the same day, couldn't really sleep. In any case! It's like last time, it's like today, and it's like everyday! It's filled with water! Well rain really, but rain is water!

And even if I hate rain, I love water magic! Well, I hope I will, never really could try any of it. Does my flow count like water magic? How does water magic makes you invisible? I really need some magic books or something. I want to sigh, but that sounds like a real bad idea considering I'm in the middle of the street, nested on a small alley close to my house, and I really don't want to break out of the flow right now considering I'm waiting for someone. They're not waiting for me, but I'm waiting for them.

They're my first stalking victim MUAHAHAHAHHA I AM EVIL! But really, I doubt my mother would be angry at me if she knew I stalked her. Well... Uh. Considering she's out to prostitute herself maybe, and actually she'd be worried sick, so she'll probably be angry, also, there's a lot of things that could go wrong if she knew what I was doing but she WON'T! I made sure of it. Well. Probably not. Okay okay, I didn't do shit just yet. And that's the problem, since I stole the marchandise a WHOLE day passed.

And my mother is STILL in this business. Truly UNACCEPTABLE! SHE NEEDS TO STAY HOME, MAKE ME TASTY MEALS AND HAVE FUN SEWING SHIT LIKE SHE DID BEFORE! Unfortunately, safety and planning comes first so she'll need to suffer a bit while my plan comes to fruction. Sorry mother. Still! I have a plan! Well, a semi plan really. A semi semi semi plan. A baby plan for a big future plan. The goal is simple.

STALL FOR TIME Pushing off the wall and sliding into the nearby street, I start my third patrol to find a hint of my mother. If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Moooooooother where art thou!? Not here. Not here, not in this street, nor this alley. Urghhh. This will take so long. Gonna go cry in my favorite alley again till she comes. Well, my plan for water magic is simple, I think I want to try and figure out how to do it with the flow, just like I did for my invisibility, probably gonna train it a bi-! Oh! You were talking about my CURRENT plan! For my mother? Ahhhhhh! Should have been clearer man. But like, can't you guess? Why would I be there, in the middle of a dark street, after having left my bed because I couldn't sleep? There's only one reason of course. ROLEPLAYING AS LADY LUCK! Okay, okay, I'll tell you about my plan it'-!

I hear something. Heels. Without any hesitation I slide out of my alley and go toward the steps I can hear, they're on my right, go forward, first to the right, the street at the end of my own street. There's no one outside today. No one but my mother with an umbrella, an exhausted expression, and a skin tight robe that fits her well, way too well, a bit too well really.

Ignoring whatever the fuck happened, I go through my ultimate plan and rush back to the left turn that leads to my street and get something out of my pockets, coins, ryos. No bills for now, too much rain. Crouching I get to work. Placing each coins close to the other but kind of dispersed, trying my best to make it look like somebody passed here and made their money fall and forgot to get them back. Which is... kind of weird in this economy.

But people desperate for money doesn't really question where the money comes from. So. Yippee? Before her heels reach me, I add the last touches, the first coin from the imaginary fall is ALMOST on the middle of the street. SHE BETTER NOT MISS IT! Like some kind of anxious teenager in front of their favorite show, I stay clear of the action, far away, back on a house as I see her turn around She keeps going.

Under the moonlight the trace of a bruise around her wrist is promptly ignored, just like she ignores the money. OH ARE YOU FOR REAL!? She stops for a second. Freeze. Blink. Look down, and almost as if she couldn't believe it she stands there for a while, she looks left and right, and for ten good seconds make sure there's nobody around. ATTAMOM GO GO GO! Finally she takes the money and without any hesitation shove it in her purse and speedwalk home. YOUHOOOOOU! Okay that probably gained me some days right?

Keeping a relieved sigh in my chest and taking the long way around to enter from my window, my mind keeps running. She's a prostitute for money right? So if she has enough money for a while, she won't need to go for a while right? And then I just need to do this kind of Lady luck encounter from time to time, until I learn how to use my weapons -specifically my crossbow- some water magic too hopefully, and then, boum!

Everything is fine in the best of all world, I have all the time in the world to stalk her, find her pimp or whatever, or her usual clients, and find a way to permanently... Get rid of the problem. Probably with a lot of money heading her way, daaaaaamn, how am I supposed to save someone from prostitution without them knowing that I'm trying to save them? That's hard work you kn-!

My slide stops as my drunk father reaches my sight, he's stumbling in the street a half bottle in his right hand and a slouch in his shoulders as he gets closer to home, he doesn't look that bad today. At least he can walk pretty well, even if he stumbles sometimes. He's still in a state to grumble around and complain about "Fuck-! Dad, and all of tho-!" The words are stopped by himself as he chugs more of whatever is in his bottle.

Almost not believing his own reaction, he looks down in wonder at his bottle, as if it held all the wonder of the world "Fucking disgusting" or all the disgust in the world alright.

With his other hand, he mimes and insult someone, his hand clamping up and down to imitate talking, just like In a sock puppet spectacle"Bla bla bla, money, no money, go work, bla bla, no drinking, bla bla useless, see who's useless you dumb piece of shit, you'll see who's useless you old bastard, mom never loved you anyway" with another swig of his bottle, he passes me, completely unaware of my existence, turns the other street and go home.... Where my mother is probably counting the money I left her.... ah.

With a sprint, I rush toward the back of my house. Time to pass through the window.
