"You roar of life and soul." … |DxD| - Chapter 110- A New Discovery …... His world was an expanse of red, a manifestation of his overwhelming power given form. From the winding rivers of lava to the never-ending plains, every drop and grain was his might condensed into reality. Yet no matter how far his might stretched, it could never reach the end of this prison.
He was the Heavenly Dragon Emperor, the Welsh Dragon of Domination, Y Ddraig Goch who had transcended life itself to become the strongest dragon beneath the Dragon Gods. Yet how far he had fallen, reduced to a tool to be wielded by the weakest race of all. He had felt the stirring in the soul of his host. A bridge had formed, connecting his soul and his current wielder. But the difference between this moment and the past countless times was as clear as a towering tree in a desert. The bridge was too…
uniform—mechanical even. He'd felt the presence of the parasite the moment the souls touched, and he would have erupted in rage were it not for its strangeness and absurdity. He had expected a god or even a devil. Not a… human? There was no right way to describe it. He had neither seen nor heard of any human in history with such a potent lifeforce. He had seen monsters of mana, but this human was life given form. So he chose to observe… and prod.
The strange human—Igor was his name—was interesting as far as anomalies went. The boy could withstand not being driven away by a wave of his power. But as interesting as the boy was, since his wielder had been brought before him, outsiders could not remain. The boy would be banished and Ddraig saw to that. Even gods could not remain, never mind a child far below their level of power. But something changed right in the passing moments.
Soul and will surged forth like roaring waves, seeping into the boy's body and blending into his life energy. It provided Igor a monumental enhancement, allowing him to wield power far beyond his current level. It gave Ddraig a moment to pause. This human possessed not only possessed strong vitality, but equally enormous soul energy, the kind that could even persist far beyond death… just like his.
"You roar of life and soul." A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. His words rang deep and true, for that is exactly what the boy was. He was a roar of unyielding waves. Ddraig finally deigned to open his eyes, and his neck rose high. Igor was beyond an anomaly. He was unprecedented, and the most interesting thing in the last thousand years.... … |DxD| …... The mountain before them cracked and fractured all over.
The dark soot and grains splintered off like chunks of dry mud. A red eye opened right before them. It was a portal, a side view of the immense dragon who slowly rose from the ground. The dirt collapsed off of Ddraig. All the chunks falling towards them were repelled by Igor's aura. He brought Issei closer: not to use him as a shield, but to comfort him. He could not have the child be afraid of Ddraig.
"Stay calm, Issei. Nothing will happen."
"..." Issei didn't respond for he was shocked into silence. The little mountain had become a skyscraper. It was hard to process, but one emotion was prevalent.
"SO COOOOOOL!!!"
"?" Igor looked at Issei, then chuckled while shaking his head. The boy's eyes were practically sparkling with the innocence of childhood. [It seems I was overreacting.] Igor allowed himself this brief moment of leisure before focusing on Ddraig again. The great dragon had lowered his head as if to look at them closely. He still loomed above them, his entire head from cheek to cheek wide enough to crush a building complex. Igor was a stick before a towering tree of crimson scales.
Smoke poured from nostrils and the breeze carried it towards them. A respectable distance of several metres separated them, but that was nought to beings of a certain calibre.
"I have come to ask that you acknowledge and guide your current host."
"..." Another breath of smoke escaped Ddraig's nostrils. He didn't even glance at Issei. His wielders in these past centuries were far too disappointing. The child promised to be no different. Those eyes were too clear, not unlike the blonde sheltering him.
"Denied. My choice and acknowledgement are not matters for contention or dispute." His voice was a fusion of a hundred ancient warriors. One sentence was as grand as proclamations that echoed across cities. He stated his stance, leaving Igor in a precarious position. He'd expected resistance, but the blunt refusal came too quickly and left him stunned for a moment.
"I understand. However…" Igor placed his hand on Issei's shoulder and channelled his energy so Issei wouldn't hear further.
"... your current host will be the strongest Red Dragon Emperor there will ever be. He will receive training from different masters until he becomes deserving of your titles and defeats the White Dragon Emperor in fair and uninterrupted combat." Ddraig did not respond, and Igor waited. Silver eyes were unyielding before crimson.
"He has awakened the gauntlet and will be free to use it as he wishes." Igor narrowed his eyes. That wouldn't be enough.
"May you actively aid him?"
"No." Ddraig's refusal came swiftly, but Igor kept calm. A white light enveloped Issei and he vanished from this space. His next words might anger Ddraig, so he couldn't risk Issei's soul being injured.
"Dragon Emperor. I propose a deal. I need your strength and you want freedom. Guide your host until he becomes an Ultimate-Class, and I will spare no effort to ensure you are no longer restrained to this sacred gear." It happened swiftly. Igor didn't even know how it happened. Where he once stood, a deep gorge had formed. All he remembered was seeing a mouthful of sharp teeth as thick as castle pillars draw infinitely close to him. Then, he was gone and found himself having evaded dozens of metres to the side.
