"I need your help, Serana." He whispered and began channelling energy into it. The sudden pressure was so much the blade crackled with lightning around it. A moment passed… and Igor disappeared inside the dome. He was less than a blur, for he arrived before Sairaorg in an instant. CLASH!... … |DxD| - Chapter 100- A Clash Of Generations 3 …... High in the skies, two men watched the ongoing battle below. The explosions and shockwaves cursed the ocean to never know ease and rest.
They were flickers in time, afterimages that vanished like the wind after each clash.
"To think I would meet a devil wielding life energy."
"I could say the same for Igor, Baraquiel. He's quite something as well." Two boys wielded untold powers for their age. Sairaorg possessed a monstrous physique and his touki amplified that. Be it speed, endurance, and strength, he lacked neither. Igor dominated in perception, reaction, and tactics. His Instant Vanishing technique was a key hallmark in his ability to engage Sairaorg head on. If he had senjutsu… Baraquiel could only imagine the capabilities.
Finding someone to teach Igor senjutsu was something he'd failed to do. There were too many considerations and so many risks he couldn't afford to take.
"I don't see how Sairaorg can aid Igor in senjutsu. His touki is admittedly impressive, but it is not the world's energy."
"You're not wrong, Baraquiel. But what if I told you that Sairaorg is the key?" He pulled his eyes from the fight below and faced Baraquiel.
"If we're looking for trustworthy individuals, then what do you think of Magari?" Baraquiel pondered the name until it connected to a race of felines.
"The nekomata?"
"Yes." In Diehauser's hand, a small potted plant appeared. It was a night flower used by yokai to train their young. It had a single leaf atop its stem, and was as dark as coal.
"Igor can channel his energy and make it bloom before Magari. With some bit of persuasion, she'll be willing to train Igor alongside Sairaorg in senjutsu. I'll understand if you refuse." If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
"..." Baraquiel contemplated this matter deeply. If they proceeded with this path, there was no need for suspense. Magari and potentially other nekomata would learn of Igor's heritage.
"How trustworthy is she?"
"Very."
"Then I'll trust you, Diehauser." The two men met eyes, and Diehauser nodded kindly.
"Thank you, Baraquiel." To have the trust and friendship of one of Grigori's strongest cadres was worth very, very, very much. To have an Ariyan, a fast-growing one on top of that? Yes. This was a great investment.... … |DxD| …...
"Hahahaha…" Sairaorg lay on the ocean's surface. The waves carried his body up and down like seaweed. He was dizzy from Igor's well-struck axe kick right on his skull. It was a hard reset to his body, though it might become a permanent sleep if he didn't get up. High in the domain of the clouds, the skies were painted orange with thousands, perhaps even tens of thousands of tiny dots. He couldn't count them. He pushed himself to stand on the water's surface.
He hadn't quite gotten it down like Igor, but he could see a lot of use from it.
"This guy…" Sairaorg sighed with a wry smile. Igor really was going for the kill. The orbs stretched for many kilometres like divine wings across the sky. They glowed intensely and Igor didn't look winded in the slightest. Well, he was the one who started this. And honestly, being one man against a sky of bullets was both poetic…and blood-burning!
"HaaaaaaAAAAAAA!!!!" Touki exploded around him into a giant misty fire several metres high. The waters were pushed back into forming a crater around him. He was a storm all by himself. The winds were so strong it blurred the vision. Separated by thousands of metres, violet eyes met amber. The world seemingly ceased to exist. Everything became faded and distorted. The only light he saw, he sensed, was the carpet of energy in the sky, and the monstrous well behind it. Sairaorg moved with a roar.
He was a piercing lance defying the heavens. Countless bullets rained down and assaulted his body. He did not dodge. He did not flinch. He did not block. His body was his armour, his supreme confidence in enduring everything. Fading blue prevailed against endless orange. He could not be slowed down. Darkness encroached his vision, but the glowing sun of energy still remained bright in his sight. Strike, strike, and more strikes ceaselessly assaulted him. Igor's bullet blasts were tiny, sharp, and numerous.
They were a hailstorm that wished nothing more than to tear into his skull. But he still surged forth, enduring the gatling onslaught until he pierced through the final line of fire. His roar of victory was soundless and short-lived. A blade had moved to carve a river through his neck and sever his throat. Sairaorg recklessly moved forward for retreat was impossible. What struck his throat was not the sharp edge of a merciless blade, but the wooden pommel carrying it.
The pain had yet to process, and that clarity allowed him to still close the distance and unleash a furious punch at his assaulter. Pa! It was not an explosion, but a crack in the dark world. The air shook, and both men sent each other exploding far into the distance. Sairaorg crashed into the ocean and Igor disappeared beyond the horizon. As colour bled in, the world caught up. The ocean erupted where Sairaorg once stood.
The very surface had shattered like stone, fragmenting the waters into endless explosions of heat and clouds of vapour. Soaring waves had risen in all directions like the towering walls of ancient cities. The skies were detonating all over in clouds and plumes of amber. All of Igor's energy bullets fell into disarray and exploded once their creator could not control them. Everything was loud, violent, and world-shaking. The winds were strong enough to uproot, the waters sharp enough to cut.
The endless explosions ruptured ears and carried across the air. It was chaos. It was armageddon given life. Many animals vanished without the opportunity to shed a drop of blood. Many people on coastal regions and islands would've perished as well had Diehauser not chosen to step in in the last moment. A giant magic circle spanned the skies. It was beautiful with many symbols woven to form the crest of the Belial clan. It glowed once, and all chaos was calmed.
"I guess that's enough sparring for today."
