June ducked a hair's breadth underneath a flying armored fist; the Wendigo's lunge with the purpose of crushing his skull in its maw snapped shut next to Oni's extended fist. He lifted a foot off the ground and kicked off Oni's unmoving leg, propelling himself through the Wendigo's legs. Then, by clawing a hand into its thigh mid-fall, he righted himself onto its back and delivered several blows to the skinwalker's head.
In response, the Wendigo's back muscles writhed like thick worms, making June's position on its back unsteady. He turned one of his revenants into an ice pick and jammed it through the monster's ear and leaped off its back, narrowly avoiding a long odachi that Oni ran through its stomach in hopes of skewering both. As June fell, he did his best to use his downward momentum to wrench down and carve out a chunk of the Wendigo's head.
'SHIT! SHIT!!!' The Voice had been fully silent since the start of the fight. The monstrous samurai, whom June assumed was ONI, was toying with him while the Wendigo played kingmaker by drawing or diverting focus onto one of the two. Oni screamed as he manifested another bloody aura'd ring of taiko drums. It clutched its fist and slammed one of the drums, causing the rain in the vicinity to immediately evaporate.
The Wendigo's body swelled like a pustule and popped like one, spewing stagnant blood before righting itself. June, on the other hand, clutched his head and let out a groan as his eyes glowed brighter. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon.
The struck drums gave him an immediate mind-splitting migraine to the point that his Flesh-shaping abilities squirmed from the pain alone, supernatural goosebumps squeezed the hair coating his body out of its follicles and immediately grew back; his eyes turned bloodshot; and his will overflowed. The fingers clutching his head dragged down his face, leaving a bloody trail that healed seconds later.
A golden lighthouse glow billowed from his eyes, illuminating the rain into a blinding gold wall that made sight impossible for those without sixth senses attempting to peer through the veil. Oni grabbed its blade and glided it against its gauntlet, turning it into a Kanabō of similar immensity as the odachi.
It let out another beastial scream as its red aura billowed around its body like a red flame; its red, glowing mask slots remained as they were, but the third eye on its Oni mask suddenly shifted, as if it were living rather than carved. In a single step, the false samurai glided dozens of meters and delivered a thunderclap blow to the regenerating Wendigo, shattering its skull into several chunks and burying its body in the ground. The third eye slid over to June, who stood paralyzed by the prior taiko beat.
It slowly looked him up and down, left and right, and then settled its focus on his beckoning, golden and most importantly, perceivable Will. Oni flicked its Kanabō in the air with a single graceful move, shaking the Wendigo's black blood off and simultaneously turning the weapon into a one-handed Tetsubō. The two quietly stood in the rain; one reeled in pain, while the other studied the oddity that fell into its gaze.
