Chương 50: Ch 29a – Memory: Grump

Ben has finished his cup of tea. Fiona has barely touched hers. Cara thinks Fiona and Ben have had an argument. That must be why Fiona doesn't want to sit next to Ben, she keeps leaning away from him. Cara suggests that Fiona sit next to Ruby. Ruby is everyone's friend. She's so bright and cheerful it's impossible not to be friends with her. Fiona immediately looks happier next to Ruby. She sits up straight. Smiles at Cara when Cara offers her a piece of cake. Unfortunately, the cake is what Gran would call stale.

It is very hard. Hard like the wood the table is made of. It makes a clunking sound when she serves it on a plate. She knows that is not the sound good cake should make. She's not surprised when Fiona doesn't eat it, she wouldn't want to eat it either. Not actually eat it. Not that she's allowed. Gran has told her not to. Perhaps they should go outside?

Outside is always more fun, and Mum is out in the garden helping Gran with something. Ruby and Fiona agree, the garden would be more fun. She takes their hands. The paw of Ruby Red Ted in one hand. The paw of Fiona Fluffy Bunny in the other. Ben Brown Bear isn't invited. He's being too much of a grump.
