Lin Yi looked back at the grand complex of buildings he stepped out of. Massive palaces, pavilions, elaborate buildings, and more were spread across the terraformed ground of the ancestral lineage. And this was just the front place, where the Sect Master resided and organized the workings of the sect. Beyond was something that he could only describe as a true immortal world. Several regions dotted the landscape, each looking like their own worlds.
One was a flying island shrouded in immortal mist, with waterfalls made of liquid Spiritual Qi flowing downward. Others were mountains raised from the ground and fashioned into different designs. There were even one or two rifts in space that led to secret realms. Worthy of the abodes of perfect beings. Lin Yi thought, mesmerized for the second time. Earlier, when he arrived, he had already peeked at the scene; however, he had business here and couldn't appreciate the view.
But now, before leaving, he could have a proper look. And he was not disappointed. After a long time, he felt his awe wane and prepared for his journey home. He looked at the grand landscape for a final time before turning around. He circulated his magical power through the different meridians in a certain sequence. Around twenty seconds later, a small amount of vapor flowed continuously from his body and condensed into a cloud-like form. A few minutes passed, and the cloud grew to around five square meters.
With a nod, Lin Yi jumped and landed cross-legged on the squishy but solid material. He poured his magical power into the cloud, and it sped into the distance.
"Haaaaahhh!" The Riding Clouds and Wind Spell is truly convenient, even barely mastered. Lin Yi sighed aloud as he thought about his newest spell and patted the cloud he sat on. It was a simple spell that created a cloud that could ride through the sky and wind. Many cultivators learned it for travel, though most find other ways of journeying through the world at some point. He shook his head and thought about the meeting he just had.
Lin Yi was expected to visit the ancestral lineage and report to the sect after he broke through to the Crimson Palace Stage. After familiarizing himself with his cultivation base and learning a few spells, he did exactly that today. However, it was nothing special. He didn't even meet the Sect Master, only a senior disciple responsible for administration. The meeting was merely a formality to acknowledge his cultivation and properly integrate him into the Inner Court.
Lin Yi continued on his artificially created cloud toward his own land. Flying through the sky gave him a special feeling of freedom and otherworldliness, especially since he could fly without stopping. Because of his cultivation at the fourth level of Qi Condensation, he no longer needed any external nourishment. He could live solely on the Spiritual Qi between heaven and earth; even now, with an active spe, his absorption exceeded his use.
He still needed sleep, but even then, not resting for ten or more days did not remotely impair him. The sect ground of the Charging Bull Sect's Inner Court was enormous. Lin Yi needed several hours to return home. He controlled the flying cloud to descend before the yet only building and dismounted. With a wave of his hand, the cloud dispersed into vapor and soon vanished completely. Lin Yi looked around and inspected his landscape. One building, one beehive, one bamboo, and endless grassland.
Still, nothing more existed here, but he wasn't disappointed. Now, with his access to magical power, he could do many things. This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. He had three plans for the area, which he needed to complete before starting anything else. One was the house, or rather his future living abode. He planned to do and meddle in many branches of the immortal dao and the hundred arts; for that, he naturally needed suitable workplaces.
Alchemy needed a cauldron, tools, and a building sturdy enough to withstand several attributes. He also wanted to create his own herb garden, not just limited to alchemy. Artifact refining had no fewer requirements. While he wouldn't go deep into this particular craft, he should learn the basics, at least enough to craft a life-bound treasure. There were also other things, like formations, talismans, beast and insect breeding, and more. He had ideas for most of them.
However, the building he currently lived in was still sufficient for the moment. He would focus on the other two plans first. These two were finding a proper place and permanently moving his beehive, and the Solitary Yang Bamboo. In fact, he could start with these right now. He looked at the bamboo and decided to work with it first. He walked towards it and stopped shortly before the plant. He had yet to learn a proper earth element spell that might allow him to move it easily.
But that was not a big problem, only a slight one. He circulated his magical power through the special meridians of his spleen and stomach, and it soon gained the characteristics of the earth element. Both of these organs represented the element, after all. Using his spirituality, he checked where the bamboo's roots ended and moved his earth-attributed magical power below them, enveloping the whole plant; with exertion of his own, he uprooted the bamboo along with its roots and soil.
"Uhhh!" He grunted with strain. Carrying this mass was not easy, especially as he didn't use a proper spell or technique but a crude method of controlling his magical power to do his bidding. Naturally, it would be different if he had an earth element Spirit Root. The Qi's and magical power's attributes and characteristics were deeply tied to the Spirit Root.
Someone with an earth element Spirit Root could easily, nearly natural, covert their magical power to that attribute and would have additional a greater ease of controlling it and a greater amount of the magical power's strength of external influence. Comprehension connected to the element would come quicker, and the cultivation of the various immortal arts would be smoother.
For example, the current task required Lin Yi first to convert his magical power, then exert a great amount of strength to move the spiritual plant. Someone with an earth element Spirit Root would have it much easier. Their natural magical power would not need to be converted, but would adapt to the ground and soil around the bamboo automatically. Raising it above the ground would come more naturally, too. Naturally, where there were advantages, there were also disadvantages.
The lower the number of elements or attributes a Yellow Spirit Root had the greater its talent and strength were, exceptions excluded. For example, someone with a fire element Spirit Root would have much more difficulty using the water element than Lin Yi, with a Mortal Spirit Root, would ever have using any other element. However, the lifespan of cultivators, at least in the realms he currently had knowledge of, was limited. It was impractical and nearly impossible to master many branches truly.
Those who practiced the immortal dao mostly focused on one or two paths, making higher-grade Yellow Spirit Roots more attractive to cultivation forces. Of course, once one's talent reached the level of Profound Spirit Roots, everything was different. Lin Yi turned his attention back to the floating mass of bamboo and earth. He already had an idea of where to place it and what to do next with the bamboo.
Carrying the floating mass, he walked a few hundred meters away from the house and returned the Solitary Yang Bamboo to the earth. Hah, that was exhausting. He remarked inwardly, and after a little rest, continued his work. Looking around the grassy land, he nodded. That will do. Well, anything really around here will do. He thought wryly. Lin Yi planned to create a small bamboo forest, not just so that the bees could collect more resources, but also so that he had something different to look at.
He could also sell some bamboo wood. From his storage pouch, he took out several seeds that the main Solitary Yang Bamboo produced. It had flowered once or twice. He didn't plant them carefully, but enveloped them with magical power and flung them into the earth at precise distances between them. Then he knelt before the grown bamboo and put his hands on it. Over the years, he formed a deep connection with the plant and was long ago recognized as its owner. Thus his magical power flowed seamlessly into it.
Magical power not only influenced the outside world better but also allowed easier communication with other lifeforms. Of course, divine sense would be even better, but he had yet access to this kind of spiritual energy. With a command, the roots of the Solitary Yang Bamboo that were retracted for transport began to grow again and penetrate deep into the earth. After some time, Lin Yi nodded and stood up. He checked over the grown bamboo and the seedlings in satisfaction.
The higher grade of Spiritual Qi here would allow them to grow even faster and in better quality. Though the characteristics of the Solitary Yang Bamboo didn't let it produce more of its kind alone, it was also a hidden boon. Every new bamboo would come from the master tree, and in the future he planned to form a formation centered around it for even greater growth and potential.
