After Nina had finished the conversation with Seraphina, the System had swiftly made everything clear that she needed to know, as well as updated a bunch of things, including several of the values. After making the major changes to the True Will to Live value and sending forth the monetary debt decrease, the System had quietly vanished into its own programming, leaving merely the essentials that were necessary during the next few upcoming weeks.
After ensuring everything was stated, the System quietly went silent for the time being. Once they reached the town in which things would be more accessible, the System became even more active than before. There were certain events that it could set as pre-done, but Nina herself was an enigma. So unless she spoke to it, time would be forwarded. It sighed lightly. Flowing through the System space, it pondered upon the actions of Seraphina. That woman. I can't believe she managed to trick me for so long.
To be so intertwined with the Wheel of Fate. Truly a case of damned if you do, and damned if you don't. With a light thought, the System projected the outside world. The town's incident had gone by as defined. The kidnapping, though earlier than usual, also went rather well. I can't believe Seraphina was able to get that woman to join the hero's party. I wonder what their deal was.
Watching coldly as the people of the town who were safe prepared a feast and celebration for Nina, who had awakened, the System also watched off in the distance as the people who had kidnapped her took her far away. The System frowned, thinking of something. Just then, chains rolled down, encompassing the System and making it collapse to the ground.
"Cause and effect!!" the System called out.
"You and I both know I was not going to step in." The vague statuette stood clearly without saying a word. It wasn't until the carriage containing Nina had gone far away that the chains loosened up. While the System was stretching, checking if it had been injured, it watched as Seraphina, who should not be here right now, broke through the world, stepping into the town. How did she...? That was what it was thinking. It also noticed that the person who came with her was a copy of Rosa. This woman...
While the System was trying to keep an eye on her, the cause and effect began to move. The System, feeling the movement, looked into the area it was going. It was heading toward the containment of the Calamity. Looking in between the two, it had to decide whether to see what Seraphina was planning to do or stop the cause and effect from effectively taking the Calamity back. The System chose the latter.
With a swift thought, it blocked the cause and effect, sending it far out of its realm and putting heavier restrictions in place to ensure that it would not deign to appear again. … 2 years had passed since the incident at the town. Ronin looked forward at the corpse of the Great Evil One. Thanks to the letter that Nina had given him, the restraints he had felt from the world had all but disappeared. But even though they had disappeared, there were still some things he needed to do.
He had to gather all the guardians, as well as protect certain areas and send guards and people to certain locations to destroy rifts. And as he was doing that, he never felt any push-back because the Seer had given him every reason to act. After everything was set, the battle against the Great Evil One was all that was left. He had the hero party members. He had the soldiers, as well as many other soldiers from all the other nations altogether.
With the help of his trusted hero members, the main members of the hero party, he was also able to help the other members who had yet to appear by ensuring that they didn't have to experience the regrets they had spoken of. Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. After doing all of that, he was prepared. He prepared heavily to go against the Great Evil One, as it had been a very difficult time in his past life when they fought it, and many people had died.
But now, because of the letter, they were able to do it 3 years earlier. They were able to minimize everything, which meant the Great Evil One should be weaker. But when he came in and they began to fight, he didn't realize how weak it had actually become. The fight was so easy that just a few attacks were enough to bring it to its death. Ronin had been confused by what was happening, but when he heard the exclamations of the others, he quickly stepped outside of the cave and looked up.
And sure enough, he saw the four major guardians. But he also saw the Crimson Guardian. That's the reason, he thought deeply. So the time at the town... it had to be. Nina had definitely done this. When the Crimson Statuette had appeared, he had heard an echo. He had thought it was his imagination or the effects of the Seer's power. But the Seer had disappeared, according to Seraphina, who had come in.
She had stated that the Seer was doing something else, and that she instead would go with them to finish up the rest of the things and make things easier. Ronin knew that there was more to it, but at the time, he didn't have enough confidence to go against Seraphina. Sending her away while there were people in the town in need of healing would have been dumb. And in the future, when they went through things, they would actively need healing.
Sure, having the Seer was great, and it helped a lot, but it meant that if someone was seriously injured, there was no chance of them coming back, or they would be crippled for life. He didn't like it, but he understood the trade-off. And when Seraphina had taken him away to speak privately, she had taken him somewhere to find a letter in which she explained that Nina had left it for him. He remembered the first time he read it. He had felt so light, and the constraint around his heart had all but vanished.
He didn't understand why, but Nina had set a chronological line of things that would happen. It wasn't detailed, but it was straight to the point, to the point that he was no longer restricted. Although it did still take a year to figure some things out due to the little constraint of her not knowing the exact area, and him having to, "figure it out" in order to stop the cause and effect backlash. But that was nothing. She was able to take a five-year journey and make it in a little over 2 years.
That's something to be happy about. And most of the time was spent traveling towards the locations. …. Ever since the town incident, Furen knew something was off, and she strived to find a way to get to her memories. With Nina now gone, she couldn't even take the easy route of asking her. So she continued refining her abilities, fighting monsters, and trying new things to help herself become more acquainted with such things. To the point that she started to form calluses on her hands.
Though they were quickly healed by Seraphina. Still, she somehow understood that this was not enough. She needed to know more and more. Focusing on her training, she didn't notice as time passed. Eventually, they killed the Great Evil One. Furen felt at a loss. After Seraphina healed everyone, Furen felt a nice, warm air in her breaths as she experienced her healing power before looking at the now-crimson sky, filled with the brightness of the Crimson Guardian.
Before she knew it, she was stepping closer to that light, wishing to touch it, when Ronin, who had been keeping an eye on her, ran over to her side and clasped her hand, pulling her back. One more step, and she would have fallen down the hill. Even though they had their own flying mounts now, it was still not the best idea to do that. Furen came to, looking at Ronin's face.
During the past two years, they had been traveling for so long, and due to all the movement and dealing with certain things, she hadn't seen much of Ronin, as he was always constantly busy. So this was the first time in a while that she actually just stared at him.
"It's good to see that you're alright," Furen said. Her eyes filled with longing, making Ronin let go in shock. Furen was also confused. What did she mean? Was he alright? After finally feeling relaxed and understanding that she could go back to her regular life, this had to happen. She had already come to terms with it. She just had some weird feelings about certain things. She felt as though she knew certain things had happened, but they hadn't. And there was always just a familiarity with things.
It was always just her imagination. Now that everything was over, and she felt like she could finally calm down, those words just had to come out. And as she was contemplating, possibly hiding in a hole, it hit her. Memories started pouring in as if that word itself were a Pandora's box. As a result, Furen felt too overwhelmed. She closed her eyes and fainted. And due to the fact that Ronin was no longer holding her hand and had also frozen in fear, she fell off the cliff. Seeing that, Ronin didn't hesitate.
He went after her, calling for his mount after ensuring that he could catch her. He cast light magic so that when he landed on the mount, it was safe and wouldn't hurt it. He directed the mount to go back to the Saintess. Something about her healing had not worked properly on Furen, and she needed to be healed again. Because this was not normal. …. One month later... She found herself in an unknown house with very festive decorations.
Just as she was about to go out and see what was happening, Seraphina burst the door open, striding toward her.
"Have you gotten your memories back?" she asked lightly. Furen was still trying to figure things out. She was confused, not knowing who this person in front of her was. Seeing her face, Seraphina sighed, bringing a mirror out of her pouch space and showing it to her.
"This is you. And depending on when and where you got your memories, you're younger than what you think you are."
"I..." Furen touched the mirror.
"I'm back in time?"
"Yes, yes. You're back in time, yada yada. How is the combining of memories? Do you remember what happened during the past two years?"
"I... I don't know." Seraphina sighed, furrowing her brow.
"I'll be back." Seraphina came back in, bringing the Crown Prince, Ronin McCann, with her. A bit earlier, when she was with him, she had instructed him to make eye contact with Furen for at least ten seconds and not to dare look away from her eyes. And so, when she brought him in, despite seeing Furen in her nightgown, Ronin clenched his fist and stood there, staring into Furen's eyes for what he believed to be ten seconds. After doing so, Furen clutched her head in pain, bending down.
"I... I remember." After hearing those words, a faint smile appeared on Seraphina's face. She stared into space before speaking out.
"Perfect. Rosa, let's go. It's time to go get your precious Seer." Rosa, who had always been waiting for those words, broke through space, allowing Seraphina to go through as they headed toward a particular direction.
