I need a skill to improve my psychic offense and defense. Jimin's expression tightened. I almost got hypnotized. And even that bastard managed to pierce through my barrier. Stopping the bullets was also difficult. His brows furrowed. Upgrading or strengthening 'Telekinesis' might solve it temporarily. But I need something better. More efficient and versatile… He took a deep breath. Since my main build is psychic-type… I should create something related to that. Jimin began contemplating carefully.
Then- A thought suddenly flashed through his mind. Wait… He immediately opened the skill creation window and began filling in the details. After a while- [Skill: Prodigious Psychic] Rank: Legendary Level: 1/50 Description: Awakens an extraordinary innate talent for psychic abilities, drastically enhancing cognitive functions and the baseline efficiency of the user's psychic powers.
Output: Psychic energy efficiency +30% Enhances cognitive capacity and processing speed Each PSY stat point grants an extra +5 PE PSY stat scaling effect +30% Mental penetration +50% Mental resistance +70% Required LP: 21200 Jimin's eyes widened.
"Damn. A legendary rank!" he muttered. For a moment, genuine excitement appeared on his face. His heartbeat even sped up slightly. This buffs almost everything related to psychic abilities. But as soon as he noticed the LP requirement, it killed all of his excitement. Whatever… What matters is that it's actually possible to create. Anyways, I should create something basic that can serve the basic purpose first. Then, Jimin began to edit the skill.
Trying multiple times, before getting- [Skill: Prodigious Psychic] Category: Passive Type: Talent Rank: Epic Level: 1/50 Description: Awakens an extraordinary innate talent for psychic abilities, drastically enhancing cognitive functions and the baseline efficiency of the user's psychic powers. Scaling: Scales with PSY.
Output: Psychic energy efficiency +20% Enhances cognitive capacity and processing speed Mental penetration +20% Mental resistance +30% Cooldown: None Cost: None Required LP: 1730 [Create] [Edit] [Draft] [Delete] Just omitting those stat-related effects reduced the LP requirement so much. Jimin slowly nodded. The original is definitely worth creating in the future… He let out a big sigh.
"This is the lowest I can take," he muttered. I need at least this much. One raid should be enough for this. He then drafted the skill.
"Well… the resistance part is done," Jimin murmured, as he stretched both arms lightly while leaning against the bed. But another issue still lingered in his mind. I need to create something that can alert and protect me even if I am under any form of mind control by chance. If I ever lose consciousness or control during a fight, even for a few seconds, it could be fatal. Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. His expression became serious.
I got saved by my artifact today. But it has a day-long cooldown. It can't save me every time… He shook his head.
"Yeah. I need a skill for that," he muttered. Then, he immediately opened his skill creation window and filled in the details. And after much trial and error, a window with the full details appeared eventually.
[Skill: Mind Restoration] Category: Passive / Active Type: Defense Rank: Custom Description: Protects and cleanses the user's consciousness from external mental intrusions and altered states. Passive: Automatically alerts the user, if they fall under any form of skill-induced mind control, manipulation, charm or dream-like state. Active: Enables the user to Instantly break free from the skill's effect. Scaling: Scales with PSY and WIS.
Cooldown: 1 hour (Active) Cost: None (Passive) / 60 PE (Active) Required LP: 1620 【Create】 【Edit】 [Draft] 【Delete】 Jimin stared at the window with focus.
"Hmm…" he hummed. The LP requirement is a bit higher than other Custom skills. Maybe because it's a strong self-defense type skill. Honestly… this type of requirement makes sense for this type of skill. Can't help it… He sighed. Complete resistance is obviously the best. But that requires at least 15, 000 LP even with the worst attributes… And partial resistance isn't worth jack, if someone is actually capable of controlling me… He shook his head. This is the best option… Instant restoration would be good.
But this will enable me to actually understand and analyze the enemy's type of control for sure. Without hesitation, he drafted this skill as well.
"Well, the psychic part's done as well," he muttered. Next is…
"Sense… Yeah. Awareness," he muttered. I couldn't even sense or react to the kidnappers in time… That bothered him more than he liked to admit.
"Skills related to that, huh?" he murmured. He began contemplating suitable skills.
Jimin created and drafted two more skills.
[Skill: Spatial Awareness] Category: Passive Type: Perception Rank: Uncommon Level: 1/50 Description: Significantly enhances the user's natural senses and sharpens their awareness of the immediate environment. Grants enhanced perception of all presences, objects, movements, and terrain features within a certain radius. Scaling: Scales with WIS. Radius: 12 m + (WIS × 0. 2) m Cooldown: None Cost: None Required LP: 210 [Create] [Edit] [Draft] [Delete] [Skill: Enhanced Reflexes] Category: Passive Type: Support Rank: Uncommon Level: 1/50 Description: Permanently sharpens the user's nervous system, drastically shortening the time it takes to perceive and react to events or sudden changes in the environment. Scaling: Scales with INT & AGI. Cooldown: None Cost: None Required LP: 320 [Create] [Edit] [Draft] [Delete] That went just as I expected.
Jimin quietly looked over the drafted skill windows floating in front of him.
'Spatial Awareness' helps with perception. And 'Enhanced Reflexes' helps me to react in time. He shook his head. I don't even need to physically move. Just stimulating my nervous system is enough. I can just react through telekinesis. He let out a breath of relief.
"Glad these two turned out to be cheap," he muttered. I can create these two soon. But then- A thought suddenly crossed his mind. What if… Something's simply too fast for me to react to in time? His expression sharpened. Reaction speed alone isn't everything. He started contemplating. I already have 'Dash'. But it has a cooldown. Another speed type… No. I don't have high innate agility. And I won't be in my agility-build all the time… So, it's not a completely viable option. And enough about reacting…
His eyes narrowed.
"What if something is just too fast to even accurately perceive in time?" he murmured. I can't just create a skill to slow down time itself either. The requirement will be astronomical… Suddenly, an idea came across his mind. Maybe cognitive… His eyes widened slightly.
"Yeah. Cognitive speed," he muttered. A grin slowly formed on his face. I don't need to slow down time. I just need to make them appear slow. He immediately opened his skill creation window and started filing in the details. And after much editing, a new window with the full details appeared.
[Skill: Moment of the Skillmaster] Category: Active Type: Perception Rank: Epic Level: 1/50 Description: Instantly accelerates the user's cognitive speed triggered by intent and focus, causing the surroundings to be perceived as 3 times slower. Has a 2-second meter system. The meter continuously recharges to full. But if it reaches zero, the skill locks down and triggers a cooldown. Scaling: Scales with INT. Output: (3 + 0. 01 x INT) times Cognitive Speed Acceleration Maximum Time Limit: 2 Seconds Recharge Time: 20 Minutes (Full meter) Duration: (0 - 2) Seconds Cooldown: None / 10 minutes (If meter hits 0) Cost: Meter Required LP: 2430 [Create] [Edit] [Draft] [Delete] Jimin stared at the screen window quietly. Then, he let out a big sigh.
"Huff…" I'm just glad this can actually be created within this range. His eyes sharpened slightly. In an actual fight, two seconds of preparation window is huge. That's enough time to block bullets, react to assassinations or completely shift momentum. Then, another thought crossed his mind. The title… Sounds cool I think. A slight grin appeared. A bit edgy, but cool. Without hesitation, he drafted this skill as well.
Then- Jimin suddenly remembered another growing issue.
"Just one more," he murmured. I've been thinking about this one for a while. With the new and upcoming roster, my vision will definitely be blocked with just notifications, during battles. And doing everything manually is becoming a pain in the ass. I definitely need this… His eyes widened slightly. I just hope it can be created. He filled in the details. Moments passed, as the new skill was being analyzed. Jimin waited eagerly for the results.
"Come on. Come on..." Then- [Skill: Intelligent System Assistant] Category: Active / Passive Type: System Rank: Custom Description: Manifests the core operating logic of the user's system into a sentient, voice-driven intelligence. The assistant can interact directly with the user, provide status updates, perform automated system tasks, and execute complex instructions related to status management, skill organization and data processing.
Cooldown: None Cost: None Required LP: 1000 [Create] [Edit] [Draft] [Delete] For a brief moment, Jimin simply stared at it silently.
"YES!" he erupted. It can actually be created! A grin spread on his face. This will make my life a lot easier. It will be like a smart assistant, I can communicate with telepathically… And it just costs a thousand LP. His grin widened further.
"Yeah… This is definitely the priority after those two. Draft…"
After fiddling on his phone for a while, Jimin started meditating. During that a notification popped up. ['Meditation' has reached Lv. 12] He opened his eyes.
"Damn. This took a long time." Leveling up the skills is really getting harder… huh? After finishing his meditation, Jimin went to bed. His eyes were closed but he was still lost in his thoughts, planning for tomorrow. After training I'll go check out the listed houses. Then to the Center. And to the Commerce hall after that… I need to sell the loot and buy new armor. Sleep finally caught up to him. Tomorrow's… gonna be a busy day.
