Jimin and his party arrived at the submission area. The place was set up near the outer perimeter of the Rift training field. A temporary processing station had been built there to handle the materials gathered by the students. Three counters stood side by side. Each counter had a staff member seated behind it with tablets and crates placed nearby. Students formed small lines in front of each counter. The party had to split up, since submissions were processed individually.
"Well… see you guys in a bit," Yu-jun said. Everyone nodded and stepped into separate lines. Jimin joined the longest one, as others joined the short ones. He waited for his turn quietly. The submission process was smooth. He stepped aside after he was done. By then, the rest of the party had finished their own submissions as well. Jimin pointed toward another section of the area.
"Let's go to the exchange counter now." The exchange counter was located a little farther away. It was where monster materials could be sold directly to the military for cash. The party approached the counter together this time. Yu-jun took their shared loot out of the storage ring and placed it on the counter. Jimin made up his mind. It's better not to show my loot here. I will just sell the surplus later. The loot was valued at a total of 2. 3 million. For a moment, the entire party froze.
The amount was shocking for the party. This was far beyond what they expected.
"Wait… what?" Gun-woo blurted out.
"2. 3 million?" Min-ji repeated. Even Yuna blinked.
"That much?" None of them were from particularly affluent backgrounds. Except Jimin and Yu-jun. Yu-jun was from a rich family. And for Jimin, money like this had slowly begun to feel… normal. Still, he remained silent. Yu-jun had the money transferred into his account, since he was the systemic party leader. Once the transaction finished, Yu-jun turned to the group.
"Well… let's divide it now." A few minutes later— Each of them had received their share. After splitting the amount equally, they were left with 460, 000 won each. Gun-woo stared at the number on his phone. Then, he sighed dramatically.
"Well… that's a bit disappointing." The others laughed slightly. Min-ji crossed her arms.
"You're saying that after earning nearly half a million won in one day?" Gun-woo scratched his cheek.
"I mean… when you hear two million, it sounds bigger, right?" Yuna nodded slowly.
"It's still a lot for one day's income." Jimin nodded. Not bad. I still got my own loot. Though, it will only get me just over a million won… He sighed quietly. Not enough. Jimin clapped his hands lightly and said, "Anyways, let's take off our gear and return the borrowed ones first. We need to return to the assembly hall in an hour," Jimin continued. The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
"I heard ol…" He stopped himself for a moment.
"… Instructor Ryu has some announcements for us." Gun-woo smirked." You were about to say 'old man', weren't you?" Jimin coughed." No, I said instructor." Everyone chuckled. Jimin said, "Anyways. Let's relax a bit till then." Everyone agreed. The party setting was dismissed. Jimin and the others left to freshen up and grab something to eat. —-- An hour later- The students gathered at the assembly hall again. Ryu Seong-ho stood at the front with a tablet in his hand. The chatter in the room gradually quieted down.
Seong-ho started speaking.
"Your submission results have been processed… The good news is that everyone has passed. Congratulations." The hall erupted in applause. Some students even cheered quietly. Others sighed in relief. Seong-ho waited for the noise to settle.
"This was just basic training to give you first-hand experience of the Rift. You have done well." He paused briefly.
"I would like to inform you that classes will be held for only four days a week… starting from this week." The reaction was immediate. Students erupted in excitement.
"What?!"
"No way!"
"That's amazing!" Some even started clapping again. Seong-ho raised his hand and said, "Quiet." The room slowly calmed down.
"No need to get so excited." He continued calmly.
"Instead, you will have to come here and raid this Rift twice a week from now on." The excitement dropped slightly. A few students groaned.
"And don't even think of slacking off," Seong-ho added.
"You must register every time you enter. We will track your participation." His gaze swept across the room.
"So gather experience and level up as much as you can. Soon, we will give you party assignments to kill the boss of this Rift. That assignment will be mandatory." Students began whispering again. Seong-ho's eyes briefly glanced past Jimin's group. Then, he continued.
"Of course, the party who killed the boss monster today, will be exempted from that assignment officially." More whispers spread through the hall.
"Lucky bastards…" Seong-ho added, "But they can still choose to go through it. It will only benefit them." Jimin grinned slightly. I will do it solo next time. Seong-ho continued, "And remember that at the end of this course…You will need to enter an E-rank Rift. So, prepare yourselves accordingly… This training ends here. That's all." Students started whispering again. But Seong-ho spoke once more.
"And there will be no classes tomorrow. So, I'll see everyone on Monday." The hall exploded.
"YES!"
"Finally!" Students were practically celebrating. Seong-ho ignored the chaos and said, "Now everyone go to your bus and take your seats. We will be leaving in fifteen minutes." Then, he left the hall. The crowd slowly dispersed. Students began heading toward the buses outside. Jimin and the others walked together.
"Well… that went better than expected," Yu-jun said. Min-ji nodded.
"No classes tomorrow is the best part." Yuna stretched.
"I'm sleeping the whole day." Gun-woo yawned and Jimin just smiled quietly. Soon, everyone boarded the bus. The bus finally left for the school. —---- During the ride back- Jimin sat near the window. Outside, the scenery slowly passed by. But his mind was elsewhere. Even with telekinesis's upgrade… The medallion's stats… and Overtime's boost… I barely managed to fully pierce the boss. His eyes narrowed slightly. I really lack a specialized attack skill.
Telekinesis is versatile and works fine against average monsters. But it cannot deal burst damage… Or enough damage against sturdy monsters. Better weapons can solve the issue for now. He leaned back slightly. I need a proper attack skill… And better weapons. But First… Jimin opened his status window.

Cool. Now I need to gather the funds for the weapons. I've to go to the Appraiser Center again. He remembered the gear he had repaired earlier. I can even sell the repaired gear after that…
Jimin took a deep breath. I'll just meditate for the rest of the way. He closed his eyes and started meditating. —---- The bus eventually reached the school. Students got down one by one. The afternoon sun had already begun to soften. After saying goodbye to everyone, he left for the Appraiser Center. —--- Jimin arrived at the Appraiser Center two hours late, compared to yesterday. But today, the situation was completely different.
The minute Jimin opened his stall, he had a huge influx of customers, who wanted his services. He was overwhelmed. What the hell… It feels like I'm giving away rations to refugees. It seemed like word of mouth had spread about him among the local Rifters. Rifters had told others about the mysterious masked appraiser who could repair gear for cheap. And then, everyone wanted his service. He worked nonstop. Even an hour past his previous closing time. But it was impossible to serve everyone.
So, some customers eventually gave up and went to other stalls. Even so, the money kept piling up. Today's haul was unimaginable for him. Holy shit! 7. 6 million won! I even worked less than yesterday… He took a deep breath. If I sell the gear on top of this… A slight grin appeared on his face. I should be good to go. Jimin closed his stall and left the Appraiser Center immediately. After changing clothes, he headed toward the 'Golden Scale Hall of Commerce' again.
