"Head warden?" Bai Xingsheng appeared before Long Feng with an utterly wild expression and was surrounded by a shocking amount of killing intent. Before Long Feng, or any of the disciples on the cliff could react, he clenched his fist and delivered a punch that caused space to temple faintly. The world in Long Feng's mind slowed down to a crawl. He could hear his heart beating, his breathing, the breathing of the other disciples... he could see the head warden clearly now.
His eyes contained a great deal of hatred that Long Feng could only see now. He could also see the fist that was mere inches away from his chest, inching closer to him with every millisecond.
"Am I dead?" He thought weakly. How else could he explain this strange feeling where the world slowed down? Then everything returned to normal. Bai Xingsheng's fist landed squarely on his chest, flooding his body with a tremendous amount of energy. Bones turned to mush, meridians and veins snapped at once... even the tiny veins in Long Feng's eyes instantly burst apart. The energy mostly rushed into his Dantian, nearly instantly crumbling the cyclone and throwing everything into chaos.
Literally everything in his body was crushed nearly instantly. His heart caved in, it's powerful beats instantly reduced to mere twitching as it desperately tried to hold on to life. Long Feng's body was flung into the air by the force, throwing him off the cliff and into the rushing river below as his consciousness flickered and sank into darkness. Chen Zhaofeng, Hua Zhi and the other seven disciples watched in shock and terror as his body sank into the river and was flushed away with the powerful currents.
Their gazes were filled with fear as they stared at Bai Xingsheng. Bai Xingsheng had a frown on his face as he stared at his fist in confusion.
"That was my full powered fist. How didn't his body explode instantly?" He soon shrugged and lowered his fist indifferently.
"Zijun, little Lixi, I have avenged you two! You can both rest in peace now..." he sighed faintly, emitting a subtle sense of sorrow. He shook his head and swept his gaze across the nine disciples watching him with unconcealed terror.
"This originally had nothing to do with you all, but you've seen something you shouldn't have, and I can't risk leaving you all alive."
"S-senior doesn't need to worry! I swear on my life, I won't mention this to anyone!" One of them swore desperately.
"That's right! That brat must have offended senior. His death is well deserved. Senior can rest assured that we saw absolutely nothing!" Bai Xingsheng shook his head deliberately.
"More than your oaths, I'd rather trust your corpses. You should blame that brat for your deaths. If possible, find him in hell and kill him once again for me." He grinned, causing all the disciples to retreat. Unfortunately, how could they escape? All seven disciples were killed nearly instantly, and Bai Xingsheng slowly approached Chen Zhaofeng and Hua Zhi. The two of them were still in a daze from the scene of Long Feng's death, unable to put up even the slightest resistance.
Bai Xingsheng grabbed both their necks and crushed them to mush, killing them before throwing their corpses into the rushing river below as well. After that, he calmly pulled out a corpse from his void ring - the corpse of the earth stage Dao old man whom he killed. He placed the corpse on the ground before clenching his fist and unleashing a punch to his own chest without holding back. His face turned pale as he coughed up a little blood, but his expression with still eerily calm.
After doing all these, he nodded and leaned on a nearby rock. Several minutes later, the aura of another deacon rushed over. The others were helping to rapidly get rid of the other Teng clan members. As for Teng Yanbin... his fate was already decided. Deacon Ye rushed over to the cliff and paused with a frown. His gaze swept across the corpses before focusing on Bai Xingsheng, noting his slight injuries.
"What happened here?" Bai Xingsheng lifted his head and smiled bitterly.
"That old man burned his entire life source at once just when I suppressed him. I let my guard down and he landed an attack, pushing me away before he rushed over here with great killing intent." He closed his eyes gently with great guilt.
"His target was three disciples... the same three who survived the suicide mission." This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. Deacon Ye nodded with realization.
"He must have been overwhelmed with hatred."
"That's right. I rushed over, but I was too late. The three disciples are dead, their corpse thrown into the river. And these innocent disciples were killed in his madness as well. I managed to kill him instantly, but..." Bai Xingsheng sighed bitterly. Deacon Ye instantly spread his divine sense, sending it into the river. Unfortunately, the river was rushing at an extremely fast speed with great currents. The corpses were long gone, transported to another area entirely. Deacon Ye shook his head.
"Don't think too much. If they died, then they died. You tried your best. There's nothing you could have done, nor is there anything we can do now. Let's go. It's about time the battle up there ended." He glanced at the sky where several deafening rumbles spread from beyond the clouds.
"Hm. Let's go. I will find a way to redeem myself for the deaths of these disciples." Bai Xingsheng rose to his feet with a determined expression, causing deacon Ye's opinion of him to rise. The two of them moved simultaneously, diving below into the mass of Teng clansmen. With the addition of four Dao realm masters, the battle was decided instantly. The Teng clansmen were killed in droves, and within seconds, the battle was over.
The superiority of the Dao realm masters was clear to all, instantly deciding the battle. Once the fight below ended, the four deacons stared up at the sky solemnly, then nodded at each other before shooting up, rising above the clouds. From the constant rumbles, the situation up there had changed with their interference. Faint roars could be heard from the sky as the energy shockwaves got fiercer, spreading all the way down.
Several minutes later, the rumbles abruptly ended and a beam of light rushed into the distance with a tremendous speed. Seconds later, the five deacons descended calmly, staring into the distance.
"Such a hassle... it's still hard to kill a late stage Dao realm master even with all of us." The leading deacon uttered before glancing at the others.
"You should take the disciples and head back first. I will chase him myself. With his injuries, he can't run far." The deacons nodded and returned to the ship in the sky while ordering the disciples to return as well. Barely ten of the hundred disciples lost their lives, and the remaining of them rose back to the ship. A mechanical hum echoed from the ship as it turned into a beam of light, disappearing over the horizon in the direction they had come from.
The remaining Deacon watched the ship leave before he turned around and rushed in the same direction as the late-stage Dao master had escaped earlier.
A day later, the news of the Teng clan's annihilation spread throughout the region under the Supreme Heaven Sect, shocking hundreds of similar forces. In the former land of the Teng clan, the corpse of a middle-aged man was hanged above the gates. Few people recognized the person, but the aura he emanated was that of the late-stage Dao realm, shaking the hearts of whoever saw it.
Teng Yanbin and the other Dao realm masters' corpses were hanged a bit lower, and together, the three corpses sent shivers up the spine of anyone. Two days later in the Supreme Heaven Sect, Bai Xingsheng's expression was one of unease as he prostrated on the floor, shivering in terror. Standing several meters before him was Ao Zhentian, dressed in purple and staring at Bai Xingsheng indifferently.
"How did it happen?" He questioned calmly.
"My lord, I was careless... Please punish me!" Bai Xingsheng cried out, planting his forehead on the ground. Ao Zhentian stared at him with absolutely no emotion in his eyes.
"Where is he now?" Bai Xingsheng hesitated slightly before responding.
"He fell into the rushing river, and by the time I killed the old man and rushed over, he was nowhere to be found..." The moment he finished speaking, he suddenly coughed out a mouthful of blood as his figure was shot straight into the walls of the central hall. Ao Zhentian hadn't moved a single muscle, yet it was clear that an enormous force had smashed into Bai Xingsheng.
He coughed up another mouthful of blood before rushing to his feet and returning to prostrate before Ao Zhentian, his very soul shivering in terror.
"Where was it?" Ao Zhentian asked calmly. His gaze was still calm, yet it sent chills up Bai Xingsheng's spine. He stuttered as he gave the exact location of the river.
"Where does it lead to?" Ao Zhentian asked again.
"That... I am not completely sure..." Bai Xingsheng began.
"Bastard!" Ao Zhentian muttered coldly. His voice turned into a formless force that struck Bai Xingsheng, slamming him into the walls again and breaking several of his bones. His face warped with pain as he bled from his seven facial apertures.
"Cripple your arm before I return." When he looked up, Ao Zhentian had vanished, leaving the hall resounding with his words. He staggered to his feet and fell down on one knee again as he coughed out blood along with bits of his inner organs and some of his teeth. A ferocious expression filled his face as he stared at the spot where Ao Zhentian stood and laughed maniacally in his heart.
'That bastard is dead! Hahahaha! Just as I swore, he died without a proper burial! Good luck finding his corpse!' This thought soothed his heart, causing his resentment to vanish with the wind. What did his injuries count for? What did crippling his arm count for? Since he had killed Long Feng and he himself was still alive, then there was nothing he couldn't endure! Even then, the thought of Ao Zhentian caused his eyes to turn cold even as his body shivered.
'Some day...' Of course, the thought of the latter's cultivation was like a bucket of freezing water poured over his head. His eyes turned clouded with despair as he thought of that unreachable realm.
"Martial Spirit..." Even if he had ten more lifetimes, he still wouldn't be able to reach that realm.
Miles away, space distorted and warped like the surface of a river as Ao Zhentian's figure stepped out of the distorted space. He looked below, where two mountain cliffs faced each other and a rushing river flowed beneath them. Taking a step, he appeared just above the river. An unfathomable divine sense spread out, covering over a mile and searching through this entire area where the river flowed. The divine sense was so powerful that it seemed to manifest itself, causing the entire river to freeze.
Every single drop of water; the entire river stopped flowing, looking like time was paused. A few seconds later, he frowned and took another step while the river continued flowing. He appeared a few miles away, where the river broke apart into three smaller rivers. His brows furrowed deeply as he stared at the three smaller rivers that went in three different directions, unable to deduce which one to follow.
After two whole days, it was unknown how far the river would have taken Long Feng, and it was even more questionable whether he was still alive or not. After standing there for several minutes, Ao Zhentian let out a soft sigh and turned around, his figure sinking into the distorted space behind him. As for the river, it continued its flow without interruption, flowing to unknown distances.
