Teng Yanbin's arm trembled at the words of the deacon as he lowered his head.
"Righteousness?" He muttered dryly before laughing. His laughter contained a kind of bitterness that only he could understand.
"Righteousness?!" He lifted his head abruptly, his laughter ceasing as he glared at the five deacons with extreme hatred.
"All these happened because of you bastards! You all claim to be righteous and just, but you're all just a bunch of hypocrites! What offense did we commit to deserve extermination?!" He roared.
"Is it because of the Lian clan? You hypocrites have exterminated numerous innocent forces over the centuries over ridiculous reasons as well!" Silence!" The leading deacon uttered indifferently.
"You will not slander the supreme heaven sect!"
"Slander? We both know I am speaking the truth! You annihilate any weaker force that shows sign of getting stronger." He snorted and smiled coldly.
"Some righteous force that is. You've already been waiting for this opportunity… to wipe us out. Bringing such an overwhelming force just to do it… you already deduced our secret didn't you?"
"Long ago." The deacon calmly nodded.
"We are the rulers of this vast land. Nothing that happens escapes our notice. We simply didn't interfere and watched your next moves, and you didn't disappoint." Long Feng had a frown as he listened to their conversation. What were they talking about? What secret? Teng Yanbin laughed.
"Those disciples you sent on a mission… I suppose you wanted me to kill them. That way, you would have a convincing reason to get rid of us while wearing the cloak of righteousness on." The deacons didn't say anything, which more or less meant agreement. Long Feng's expression changed slightly at that.
'We were really sent on a suicide mission…?' he felt a bit of rising anger, but he quickly suppressed it and listened calmly. There was nothing he could do. Chen Zhaofeng and Hua Zhi were also listening and had the same rising rage. No one would be pleased hearing that they were sent on a mission to be killed as sacrifices. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do about it.
"I have changed my mind. Whether you resist or not, every single one of you will be killed." The deacon casually decided before glancing past Teng Yanbin to the Teng clan members below and focused his gaze on a single middle aged man. The man was completely inconspicuous among the thousands of clansmen, looking like an ordinary elder. Even his aura was that of an ordinary mid stage deity.
"There is no point in hiding. Come on out and accept your death." The Deacon stated. Teng Yanbin laughed.
"Elder brother, let's make sure we rip out a large chunk of their flesh even if we die today!" The middle aged man below nodded severely and vanished, reappearing before Teng Yanbin. His speed caused everyone's pupils to shrink. It was unlike anything a deity could attain. The aura of a late stage Dao realm master spread out of his body, sweeping across the world and unfolding a tremendous pressure upon everyone except his clansmen. Long Feng's pupils shrank as he stared at the middle aged man in shock.
The Teng clan actually had a late stage Dao realm master? It looked like luck played an extremely huge role in their escape from the Teng clan! The Deacon watched the man with a casual smile.
"The process failed?" He asked.
"If we had enough time, we would have naturally succeeded and the true spirit realm would have been just a step away from me." The late stage Dao master replied.
"And then the Teng clan would have been able to rise to a three star force." The Deacon completed.
"Unfortunately, we forced your hands. It is an unshakeable rule the supreme heaven sect set long ago, that no force could could attempt to increase their rank without our approval, otherwise the consequences would be dire. Yet the Teng clan dared to defy that order." Teng Yanbin and the late stage Dao master both laughed.
"If we had let you know in advance, you hypocrites would have killed him before we even began the process!" Teng Yanbin responded hatefully.
"It doesn't matter. You'll all still die today." The Deacon stated.
"Attack. Leave no one alive." He ordered, his voice spreading to the other four deacons and the ship filled with disciples. Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. Then he shot higher into the sky in a beam of light, followed closely by the late stage Dao master of the Teng clan. Their battle was on another level compared to the one here, and if they fought here, the shockwaves alone would leave no one below the Dao realm alive.
The moment the two strongest disappeared above the clouds, a hundred disciples, each surging with the aura of a deity flew off the ship and hovered in the sky behind the four deacons. The four of them began to emanate their earth shaking auras of the mid stage Dao realm, unleashing an astonishing pressure into the world. The combined auras of a hundred deities and four mid stage Dao realm was overwhelming, to say the least.
Teng Yanbin, the early stage Dao old man and the thousands of Spirit, Imperial and deity stage members beneath felt as though a massive mountain was looming over them, threatening to descend and wipe them all out. Face slightly pale, Teng Yanbin roared, "Attack! Even if we die today, we will make sure they don't have it easy!" They all roared and charged up into the sky, crafting a magnificent scene of thousands of people rushing into the sky with surging killing intent.
"How do we handle them?" The four deacons were completely unbothered. A thousand or ten thousand, as long as they were weaklings, it made no difference.
"You three leave the early stage Dao master to me. Deal with Teng Yanbin quickly. I'll kill the old man." Bai Xingsheng calmly proposed.
"Alright. Get rid of him quickly. We'll kill Teng Yanbin and quickly get rid of these ants before we go help up there." After casually deciding their next course of action, the four Dao realm masters moved at once, showcasing tremendous speed as they instantly appeared before Teng Yanbin and the old man. The old man's expression was savage, but Bai Xingsheng's aura made his heart shiver in terror and despair. The fear of death quickly surfaced in his heart, but there was clearly no other path laid out for them.
His eyes turned scarlet as he charged straight at Bai Xingsheng with killing intent roiling around him.
"Even if I die, I'll take you with me!" He instantly ignited his cultivation and burned his blood essence, tremendously boosting his power to the level of a mid stage Dao master temporarily.
"With just this?" Bai Xingsheng smiled coldly and dove in, completely suppressing the old man within minutes. Teng Yanbin was also in extremely dire state, facing the attacks of three mid stage Dao masters, and it wasn't helping that each of them could beat him in a normal fight. He was already coughing up blood in just a few moves even after burning his own blood essence. Nevertheless, he still didn't stop laughing mockingly as he fought.
As for the disciples, they rushed towards the thousands of Teng clan members without fear. Even though they were severely outnumbered, their power was much greater. The thousands of Teng clan members barely compromised of fifty deities, and barely ten of them had refined their cultivation even once. As for the others, they were mostly spirit realm warriors and even Imperials. Such cultivation was wholly insufficient before a hundred powerful deities.
The moment they collided, the Teng clan members fell like birds from the sky. Every disciple was able to kill dozens with every casual attack, and even the elders weren't spared. It was nothing short of a bloodbath as dozens of mutilated corpses dropped from the sky every second. Long Feng watched this silently with complex emotions in his heart. He was only coming to comprehend the reason behind the Teng clan's actions, and it left a bitter taste in his mouth. Perhaps they did slaughter the Lian clan.
But it was only the higher ups that were involved. These spirit realm warriors… they were innocent. Each of them was charging forward with nothing but fear and their resolve to die, and it weighed down on Long Feng's chest like a rock. If the supreme heaven sect were truly as righteous as they said, they wouldn't slaughter the innocents. Killing the leaders of the clan was more than enough. Teng Yanbin's words began to ring in Long Feng's mind as he watched the battles.
"Hypocrites… could he be right?" He didn't know, and he truly had no right to comment on it. He had his own fair share of blood on his hands, after all. He calmly retreated and landed on one of the two cliffs above the raging river as he watched the slaughter from above. A while later, Chen Zhaofeng and Hua Zhi joined him, both nodding at him. Apparently, they all shared the same thoughts.
Besides, the supreme heaven sect had sent them on a mission to die, so they weren't particularly excited to help them in this battle. Within minutes, Teng Yanbin had lost an arm and had an extremely deep hole in his chest that oozed out blood like a fountain. The only reason he was still alive was because the three deacons weren't going all out. If they went all out, he would die in a minute. The early stage Dao old man wasn't as lucky. Bai Xingsheng was going all out, beating the living daylights out of him.
In a short time, he was covered in blood and was barely holding on. To make things worse, the power boost he received from burning his cultivation and blood essence was fading away while the backlash was settling in. He was mere moments away from death. His eyes were filled with bitter despair as he tried to retreat. Just then, he caught sight of the three figures upon a mountain cliff some distance away and his killing intent instantly exploded savagely.
"Bastards!" He snarled. It was them! They were they reason their plan was interrupted and they were currently being butchered like chickens!
"I want you all dead!" The old man roared and gave up on retreating, instead charging straight towards the mountain cliff.
"Hm?" Bai Xingsheng frowned and glanced at the mountain cliff, only for his eyes to turn a notch icier. He moved, instantly overtaking the old man and bombarding him with powerful attacks.
"Argggh! I am not willing!" The old man roared as an attack smashed into his chest, breaking all his defenses and leaving him at the brink of death.
"All of you… kill those brats!" He sent a wave of voice transmission to all the Teng clan's deities he could sense within a certain range just before a palm stabbed into his chest and grabbed his beating heart. Bai Xingsheng crushed the heart with extreme indifference, killing the old man. Just before the corpse could plummet from the sky, he grabbed it.
"I have a use for you." He calmly placed the corpse into his void ring before turning to glance at the mountain cliff with a savage glint in his eyes.
"Brat… it's time to die!" His figure turned into a silent blur that faded away.
Long Feng suddenly frowned as he sensed a piercing gaze on him, but when he looked around, he couldn't deduce where it came from. Before he could think it over, a few powerful auras rushed up the mountain.
"Four mid stage deities of the Teng clan are rushing this way and a few disciples are chasing them." Chen Zhaofeng stated with a deep frown. Just as he finished speaking, the four deities rushed into sight, charging straight towards the trio with blazing killing intent.
"Looks like we're pretty famous." Hua Zhi smiled bitterly. Seven disciples rushed closely behind the four deities and surrounded them, nearly instantly killing one of them. Another one barely escaped the encirclement with his life hanging by a thread, yet he didn't try to flee. His eyes were filled with clear hatred as he rushed towards Long Feng and the other two while emanating a dangerous aura.
"He wants to explode his deity ocean!" Chen Zhaofeng roared. Even if they were stronger, the explosion would severely injured them. Long Feng narrowed his eyes and moved, appearing before the deity. His sword was pulled out of it's sheath in the blink of an eye and sliced off the man's head before he could explode, causing the danger to fade away. A complicated expression appeared on his face as he watched the corpse fall down.
Even in death, the eyes still carried an overwhelming amount of hatred and killing intent towards the three of them and the entire supreme heaven sect. He sighed and turned to watch the end of the slaughter when a shiver suddenly rushed through his entire being. His mind went dead silent, and even the countless cries and explosions in the surroundings didn't seem to exist. He couldn't hear anything at all, including his own thoughts.
"Danger!" His pupils shrank drastically. This was his instincts acting up, and instead of warning him with the usual unease and loud ringing, it reacted with extreme silence. This had only ever happened once before… and almost instantly, the peak deity of the Liu Royal Clan appeared and nearly killed Long Feng, even causing Yan Jian's death. Long Feng's blood went cold as he turned around. A blur flashed before him and for a split second, he saw…
"Head warden?"
