The very next day, a shocking news swept through the Inner peak. A hundred disciples would be selected to follow the lead of five deacons and exterminate a four star clan. This wasn't something that happened frequently, and the last time the Supreme Heaven Sect did something similar was easily over a decade ago when they annihilated an entire three star force under the lead of three inner elders. After all, well, who would dare to defy a quasi one star force if they weren't suicidal?
Several disciples were filled with excitement as they hoped they got selected to join. This was an opportunity to broaden their horizons and even gain rewards, so many disciples were more than willing to join. With five deacons, absolutely nothing could go wrong. Unfortunately, only a hundred disciples would be chosen. One could imagine what a scene a hundred powerful deities would be. Long Feng stared blankly at the token in his grasp, unable to believe what he just read.
He had to read it again to be sure before he groaned.
"Damn it… there are a thousand disciples, and they're almost all stronger than me! Why pick me?!" The opportunity many disciples were hoping for had been granted to Long Feng. Unfortunately, he didn't want it. Apparently, he, Chen Zhaofeng and Hua Zhi were each granted an opportunity to join the hundred disciples and participate in the extermination of the Teng clan due to their contributions. It could be considered as a reward as well.
"What damn reward? Do I look like I want to return to that place?" Long Feng groaned again, feeling helpless. It was unfortunate that there was no way he could reject this 'reward', otherwise he would. The message in his token stated that they would leave the very next day. This left him with tears. He had practically just returned three days ago… why the hell would he want to go back? He knew that there couldn't be any danger this time, but he would rather stay and use this time to increase his cultivation.
He cursed under his breath for a minute before he gave up with a sigh and decided to rest for this night. The next day, a hundred disciples gathered inside the large central Hall, each of them emanating an awe inspiring aura. Long Feng looked around and traced his nose, noting that the weakest of those here were on the same level as Ren Ji, and those were in the minority. Dozens had cleared their second refinement stage, giving them the power of peak deities.
As for those who had risen a level past that but we're still beneath the third refinement stage, they were lesser in numbers, but each of them could kill ordinary peak deities with ease! Five figures stood at the lead of this large group, each of them possessing an aura that could overturn the earth. Long Feng's gaze swept over them and paused briefly on one of them.
"Head warden? What's he doing here?" One of those deacons was clearly the head warden of the outer peak, Bai Xingsheng. Long Feng was extremely surprised to find him here. When did he become a Deacon? Bai Xingsheng seemed to sense Long Feng's gaze and casually glanced in his direction emotionlessly before he looked away. Long Feng also shrugged and moved his have away. The man in the middle stepped forward and spoke with a powerful voice.
"Disciples, you all know why we're gathered here, but I will make it clearer. We will be leaving nothing that breaths within the Teng clan! Anything that lives, we destroy! There is no mercy and no chances." Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
"Yes, Deacon!" A hundred disciples roared, their voices driving they clouds overhead away.
"Good." The deacon nodded before turning to deacon Ye beside him.
"Set the coordinates and teleport us." Deacon Ye nodded and made several flashy hand seals before pouring a huge amount of his true essence into the floors of the hall. Thousands of extremely complicated runes lit up and began to move rapidly, rushing about unpredictably. The floor seemed to come to life with countless runes speeding randomly, yet of one looked closely, there was a strange order within that randomness.
"The Teng clan is finished…" Long Feng muttered as the teleportation formation activated. Back then in the Teng clan, he hadn't even sensed as many as a hundred deities. In fact, they were barely about fifty in numbers, and most of them were at the early stage. Most importantly, there were five deacons, and each of them was at least a mid stage Dao realm master. Such a little force like the Teng clan would never be able to resist this line up.
A brilliant light enveloped the hall and when it faded, they were all gone. Thousands of miles away among several mountains, a wide beam of light descended from the sky, crashing into the ground and spreading out for hundreds of meters like a wave. It slowly faded away, revealing a hundred youths with shocking auras led by five middle aged men.
"The Sect's teleportation formation doesn't need another formation in its destination to activate?" Long Feng realized. Normally, the destination must have a teleportation formation as well before the it would work, but this place was in the middle of nowhere. How could there possibly be a formation here? The only explanation was that the Sect's teleportation formation was one that could teleport anywhere within a certain range without requiring another formation.
"Deacon Ye?" The leader of the deacons muttered. Deacon Ye instantly pointed in a certain direction.
"They're approaching the border of the region. They probably plan to leave the eastern region entirely."
"Hmph. What gall. Do they think we can't reach them if they leave the region? Naive!" The leader snorted.
"They know we're coming." Deacon Ye thought he should state.
"It doesn't matter. Their resistance will be futile." Saying this, a beam of light flew out of the Deacon's left eye and rapidly enlarged in the sky, turning into a massive ship floating in the sky. The ship was extremely large, enough to blot out the sky entirely. It was entirely bronze in color and it's surface shone with a metallic luster. As for the aura it emanated, it was clearly top tier among earth grade armaments.
"Disciples, get aboard the ship!" At his order, the hundred disciples flew up and orderly landed on the ship's deck, followed by the five deacons.
"Deacon Ye, lead us there." Deacon Ye nodded and directed his energy into the core formations of the ship, causing a wild hum to fill the sky. The ship suddenly accelerated, reaching inconceivable speeds within minutes. Even a mid stage Dao realm master would find it hard to keep up with the speed of the ship, and this was far from it's limit. Long Feng could only click his tongue in surprise as he watched the surroundings blur into a single scenery.
If it wasn't for the sturdy formations within and without the ship, the terrifying wind currents would have ripped all of the disciples onboard to shreds. The ship tore through the sky, leaving a long streak of light in the sky that didn't fade for a long time.
"Stop!" About ten minutes later, the ship began to decelerate, slowing down to a gradual halt. The Deacon leader floated out of the ship and stared ahead with a narrowed gaze.
"There's a formation right up ahead. They are somewhere around here." He stated.
"Formation?" Long Feng looked ahead but couldn't sense anything. The formation must be more powerful than what he could perceive with his soul power. The leader took a step forward, erupting with such unfathomable aura that even with the shields of the ship between them, many disciples turned pale and staggered backwards. His aura was like a whirlpool of pure energy and disorder towering into the sky. Forget an early stage Dao master. Even a mid stage Dao realm master like Bai Xingsheng was faintly suppressed.
The same went for the other three Deacons.
"Late stage Dao realm!" Long Feng gasped with a serious expression. This man was actually so powerful… he alone could bury the Teng clan without any help if Teng Yanbin was the strongest they had. Most shockingly, this man wasn't even the head deacon!
"Break!" The man shouted while delivering a punch that caused the space before him to tremble. A terrifying shockwave spread out, destroying everything and anything in it's path. A nearby forest was completely raised down and all living creatures within it were annihilated. A massive formation appeared where his fist struck, glimmering with a very faint light. After taking the attack of a late stage Dao master, it was clearly weakened and on the verge of destruction.
"This formation was meant to stall us for a while at most. If we had entered it, things would have been a bit troublesome." Long Feng realized. With Teng Yanbin's intelligence, he should know that there was no stopping the supreme heaven sect. The best they could do was slow them down, and the only method to achieve that was through a formidable formation. Unfortunately, he probably didn't account for the presence of a late stage Dao master.
Horrifying cracks spread across the formation before it shattered into fragments of energy like glass.
"Let's go. I have locked onto them." The late stage Deacon breathed out indifferently before returning to the ship under the reverence filled gazes of the disciples. Who amongst them didn't dream of one day wielding such earth shaking might? Even space itself would tremble at this power. The ship continued forward, shooting across the sky like a star. Barely three minutes later, the ship slowed to a halt again.
There was a wide river rushing into the distance with extremely violent force, cutting between two mountain cliffs. The entire area was filled with low and high mountain peaks and cliffs that extended into the far distance. Due to the rather low natural energy density here, there was no force for miles around, making it a desolate area. The ship floated high in the sky, blocking the sun and casting an enormous shadow upon thousands of figures scattered below.
These figures were numerous in numbers, well over three thousand, but their auras were extremely scattered between several realms. Without doubt, they were the Teng clan, all still clad in the robes of the Lian clan. They were all staring solemnly at the ship in the sky while the powerful elders led by Teng Yanbin and the old man at the early stage Dao realm floated high.
"Teng Yanbin pays respect to the esteemed figures of the supreme heaven sect." He had already reverted to his original appearance, clearly aware that his disguise was pointless here. He calmly hovered in the air and clasped his fists towards the ship with a very calm expression, not at all panicking. The five deacons floated off the ship and stood on the air, staring down at him coldly.
"Teng Yanbin! You slaughtered the Lian clan, deceived the world, murdered two of our disciples and defied the authority of the supreme heaven sect. Do you admit your guilt?!" Deacon Ye's voice echoed through the mountains like thunder. Teng Yanbin stayed silent, not responding. There was no point denying it, just the same way he knew that the Teng clan couldn't escape this. His silence was meaningless to the deacons.
"We are here to uphold the righteousness of the su preme heaven sect and punish you for your crimes. You can either surrender and be taken back to the sect for trial or resist and cease to exist right now!"
