Long Feng was elated to hear that. Although he didn't really understand what soul power was, he was still glad to have it. And according to Wu Kong, his soul power was among the rare kinds.
"That's great! If I can also cultivate both soul and martial Cultivation, I'll definitely be stronger than I am right now!" Long Feng's plans were actually simple and straightforward. He intended to leave the Star Mountain City and go to other places, travel the world and see what it was all about. He would join a fairly powerful sect. A Yang level sect maybe, or higher if he could. When he reaches the peak Yin realm, he would leave the Jianhai Province. In the Yihua Imperial Continent, there were seven provinces.
The Jianhai Province was only one of them. His final plan was to leave the Yihua Continent once he reached the spirit realm. Of course, this was all his own thinking. As for whether he could actually reach the spirit realm, or if a spirit realm warrior could really leave the continent? He had no idea.
"I will not interfere in your cultivation. Not a helping hand, not even when your life is in danger. You must cultivate on your own diligently and figure your own way out of any danger." Wu Kong stated. Long Feng nodded"I never wanted that. I will surely cultivate diligently to attain the Imperial realm." He assured, clenching his fists. Little did he know, he would come to regret accepting this condition so casually…
"If you wish to gain my approval, you have much harder path ahead of you than you imagine. I want you to reach the Imperial realm within three years. That is your first test." Wu Kong added. Long Feng felt his throat dry up as his determination deflated like a burst balloon and he stared at Wu Kong blankly, taking a minute to comprehend what he said. Many people would take over decades to rears to reach the spirit realm alone! It could take even longer, and many would still never make it.
Yet, Wu Kong was asking him to reach the Imperial realm within three years? Wasn't that just a joke and half? He didn't say anything in response. He was lost for words to say. A minute passed and he prepared to leave the Dantian. He had already spent over a day locked up in his room. It was time to step out for a bit. Just before he left, he paused and turned around to glance at Wu Kong again.
"Master… why me?" He asked suddenly in a solemn tone. He was young and rather naive, but it hadn't reached the level of stupidity. Why was it him? Was it really just a coincidence that he picked up the sword that suitably turned out to be a powerful man? Why hadn't it been Long Qing? Or Long Wei? Was it because he wasn't really a Long clansman? Who exactly was he? What were the three dragons and the symbol on his forehead? All of these were questions he didn't have an answer to.
All he knew was that Wu Kong wasn't planning anything bad. From the beginning, he held absolutely no bad intentions. Instead, he guided him, took him in as a disciple and even gave him a powerful technique while hinting at the existence of an entire inheritance belonging to his master. But… all of these… would anyone really do all that for free? Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions. Wu Kong seemed to have been expecting that question.
"You shouldn't think too much about it. When it's time, you'll understand everything". Long Feng didn't get the chance to speak again before he was forced out of the Dantian world, leaving him speechless. Who was the owner of that Dantian? Him or Wu Kong? Clearly, Wu Kong had much more control over it than the owner himself. He stood in the room and looked around with a frown, then shrugged and simply walked out of his room. He felt the air fan against his face and he inhaled deeply.
He had spent a day indoor before, so this didn't come as a new thing to him. He went to look for his father to let him know of his plans to leave the clan. Along the way, he was floored by the sudden change of behavior in the clansmen he met. The juniors would all nod at him respectfully and even walk over sometimes to greet. Of course, there were some of them who didn't dare to approach him. After all, many of them had openly humiliated him before. This left Long Feng scratching his head along the way.
"What In the world happened to those fellows? Why is everyone acting weird?" He soon remembered the matter of the clan meeting and laughed.
"I get it. I can now cultivate, so I am no longer the trash. Moreover, I took the first place which proved I am the strongest among them. Naturally, none of them would have rebellious thoughts against me again." Long Feng smiled and continued on his way. Turns out, strength really was everything. He gained respect without even seeking it. Who would dare to bully him now? They could count themselves lucky if he didn't go over to repay old debts. On his way, he overheard two pieces of news.
The old Clan Chief had left seclusion! That was good news for the whole Long Clan. With the old clan chief out, even the Gong clan would have to walk on circles around the Long clan. But the second news made his face fall. The Gong clan had joined forces with the Xuan clan, the Li clan and the Song clan. They were preparing to attack and exterminate the Long clan! Currently, the whole clan was in a tense situation. Each elder wore a heavy face and even clan members had sour expressions on their faces.
Even with the old Clan Chief, the Long clan may not necessarily survive the combined attack of the four clans. The assault of four Yin level clans was not a joke. It was fortune that there was one thing about the Long clan; something Long Feng loved as well. They wouldn't yield, ever. Each clan member had this personality. Before they run and flee the clan, they would probably die. Long Feng frowned deeply.
He knew that that this alliance would have happened eventually, but he happened to be the spark that pushed the four clans to feel threatened. Originally, just the Xun, Li and Song Clan would only make the Long clan serious. They wouldn't be threatened much. But the addition of the Gong clan changed everything. The Gong clan joined forces with the other clans, and the reason was Long Feng. The news of his talent had spread rapidly and they viewed him as a threat.
They wanted to eliminate him at all costs, and the Long clan naturally wouldn't just hand him over to them. As such, they formed this alliance that could suppress the Long clan and leave them breathless. To him, that was absolutely bad news. He was not arrogant enough to believe that he could contend against a Yin realm cultivator. He quickly rushed over to his father's pavilion and walked in after a light knock. He found Long Yuan sitting on a chair with his hand stroking his beard, his face thoughtful.
Long Feng's entrance pulled him out of his thoughts.
"Feng'er! How have you been?" Long Yuan asked worriedly.
"I'm fine. Father the four clans are really planning on attacking us?" Long Feng quickly asked for confirmation.
"I'm afraid so. It shouldn't have been so sudden, but your appearance clearly forced their hands. I am sure you know that you are now their main target. If you should leave, then they might not longer have a reason bother about the Long clan anymore, nor would they dare to."
"Leave?" Long Feng was startled.
"That's right. They would spare no effort in trying to eliminate you. The old Clan Chief left his seclusion yesterday, but you seemed to be cultivating so we didn't bother you. Now that you are done, the old Clan Chief wishes to see you." Long Yuan said. Long Feng nodded. He was also curious to meet this old clan chief, who was also his grandfather. He hadn't ever met him since he was a baby. They both headed down towards the elders hall. The elders hall was located in the very center of the Long clan.
It was a huge hall which was almost the most sacred and restricted area in the clan. Within the hall, all the high elders of the clan were gathered. In the center of the gathering on the main seat was a stern faced old man. His hair was mostly white and he was dressed in a blue robe. He emanated an extremely dense aura that could suffocate a connate realm warrior. This was the strongest person in the Long clan, a rank six Yin realm warrior, and Long Feng's grandfather.
Long Feng knew instantly that this was the old Clan Chief. His presence and aura was incomparable to anyone else's. Upon entering the hall, Long Feng did what any other junior would have done.
"Long Feng pays respect to elders and the old Clan Chief." He bowed his head respectfully. The elders nodded, while the old Clan Chief looked over Long feng. He tried to peer into Long Feng's dantian but to his surprise, he couldn't. It seemed as if the dantian protected by an invisible barrier which he couldn't see through. His stern face gave way to a faint smile.
"Good Young man. Long Feng right? Good!" The old Clan Chief praised as he assessed him again.
"It is our Long clan's luck to have a talent like you. Sadly, we are not strong enough to ensure your safety. For that, I deeply apologize to you." He continued.
"Senior is too polite. The clan is trying it's best." Long feng replied. The old Clan Chief nodded.
"Good. Straightforward young man. Very good! The elders and I have made a decision. We will send you away from the city. With your talent, you will easily enter a peak Yin level sect. When you are strong enough, you can return to the clan. It'll always be here for you. That way, the four clans alliance would be unable to do anything to you." The old Clan Chief said. Long Feng smiled inwardly. What a coincidence. That was almost exactly his thoughts when he was originally searching for his father.
He naturally had no reason to refuse.
"This junior will forever remember this favor." Long Feng reassured. The old Clan Chief sighed sadly"It's no favor. It is due to our weakness that we are unable to protect you. I feel ashamed of myself. I will personally see you out of the city safely." he added. Long Feng nodded gratefully. The four clans would definitely be keeping track of his movements. If he should leave the clan, there was a high chance that they would know. With the old Clan Chief being with him, he would be that much safer.
"We don't have much time. Get ready, We'll be leaving tomorrow. We must be as discreet in our movements as we can." the old Clan Chief said.
"Thank you senior. This junior would definitely remember your help" Long Feng replied. The old clan chief nodded and motioned for him to return. Long Feng walked out of the palace and went to prepare for his departure.
