Curse: Recoil Rupture — Heavy strikes send shock back through one's body, causing stacking internal strain and potential organ failure. ──────────── These I chose for a very simple reason, Chloe and Rhea both helped me handpick these for their effects, and the curses they carried.
Most curses were a direct counter to specific types of fighters, strength, speed, and spells specifically, but some I added for my own use, like the pendant. Now that I had to deal with more people, I wanted them to listen, a little nudge could only work in my favor, and my curse wouldn't actively oppose it, because I would command them only to help them, and they needed help in this place, a lot, so they would have to listen now. After those came the fruits and potions for my own stat enhancement session.
Most fruits advertised an increase between 40 and 80 stat points, a ton, but the cost was really high, despite being cursed too. I was wondering where the fuck all these cursed things were coming from, standing to what I heard from Vix, Hexers and curse mages were hunted and reviled, but the shop was full of their products. I still had to read the book about curses I bought… there was always so little time. ──────────── [Blightpear of Allure] (Cursed) – 3, 000 TP Effect: Massive Charisma increase.
Curse: Obsession Field — Others become fixated on you… and hostile if ignored. [Gravemelon of Might] (Cursed) – 3, 200 TP Effect: Massive Strength increase. Curse: Crushing Grip — Fine motor control is nearly impossible under stress. [Quickthorn Berry Cluster] (Cursed) – 2, 800 TP Effect: Massive Dexterity increase. Curse: Nerve Overload — Pain signals are amplified. [Bloodroot Apple] (Cursed) – 3, 100 TP Effect: Massive Vitality increase. Curse: Heightened Hunger — Constant need to consume.
[Zephyr Plum] (Cursed) – 2, 900 TP Effect: Massive Agility increase. Curse: Drift State — Difficulty staying physically still. [Ironbark Nut] (Cursed) – 3, 300 TP Effect: Massive Constitution increase. Curse: Stiffening — Reduced overall flexibility. [Neurovine Grape] (Cursed) – 3, 000 TP Effect: Massive Intelligence increase. Curse: Thought Spiral — Can't stop overthinking, even when necessary. [Seer's Fig] (Cursed) – 3, 100 TP Effect: Massive Wisdom increase.
Curse: Choice Paralysis — Too many optimal paths impede you from acting. [Tyrant's Cherry] (Cursed) – 2, 900 TP Effect: Massive Willpower increase. Curse: Domination Urge — Greatly intensifies the desire to control others. [Glass Orange] (Cursed) – 3, 000 TP Effect: Massive Perception increase. Curse: Fractured Focus — Important details compete with trivial ones. [Marathon Citrus] (Cursed) – 3, 100 TP Effect: Massive Endurance increase. Curse: Exhaustion Debt — Fatigue returns multiplied after stopping to rest.
──────────── I got three of each, costing me about a hundred thousand points just for the fruits. Then the potions, vials, and pills went for another twenty thousand, but they would increase my stats marginally compared to the fruits, still, it would add up well after I'd be done with the batches I got. The old potion would add five stats, and I got two sets, the pills would add ten and I got five sets. As for the gas vials, they'd only work once, but they'd increase every stat by twenty-five.
As a last thing, I checked the book Vix recommended to me too, before I forgot again. ──────────── [System Codex: Achievement Guide, Vol. I] – 180, 000 TP A guidebook detailing ways and paths for unlocking achievements. ──────────── Yeah, no, not now for sure, I didn't have the funds for this, and it would be better if all contributed, this wasn't only for myself.
I packed everything in my satchel, it was hilarious in a way, the armor especially, it shrank to fit the opening and then fell inside the void of the magic too. I just hoped that until I extracted all the curses, it wouldn't mutate or something, with so many cursed things inside. I was done, my balance was pretty low now, less than fifty K, but I was happy. Now I had to evolve my skills and prepare my curses, I had so many toys to play with that I didn't even know where to start.
I exited the shop, leaving the merchant behind and making for the common room. I had a Guild to manage, but it wouldn't take long, I would delegate the hell out of it, for now. As soon as I entered the common room, I saw a group of women surrounding Rhea, who looked like she wanted to bury herself just to disappear. Then, as if they were sharks scenting blood, they all turned in my direction. Ah shit.
