If a man accuses another man and charges him with homicide, but cannot bring proof against him, the accuser shall forfeit his life to the service of Magarska to toil unto death under the vow of penance or in so refusing be killed If a man breaks into a house, he shall make the vow of penance owed to the man whose house has been broken by him for no less than five years and no more than twenty or in so refusing he shall be killed and hanged in front of that very breach.

If a man has a debt lodged against him, and a storm-god devastates his field or a flood sweeps away the crops, or there is no grain grown in the field due to insufficient water in that year he will not repay grain to his creditor; he shall suspend performance of his contract and he will not give interest payments for that year. If a man takes in adoption a young child in its water and then rears him, that child will not be reclaimed. If an officer should blind the eye of another officer, their eyes shall be forfeit to the service of Magarska, to look and see only what is to the benefit of the Kingdom until they can see no more or in so refusing be blinded in both eyes.

If an officer should command harm to an avowed of Magarska under their command that is deemed unjust they shall suffer that harm ordered upon them until satisfaction is met by the avowed or the ranking captain over that officer.

If a builder constructs a house for a man but does not make it conform to specifications so that a wall then buckles, that builder shall make that wall sound using service to the city of the man's home under a vow of penance until they have labored the work of five times that needed to rebuild the structure or in so refusing be killed. - Excerpt from the Legal codes of Magarska
