Chương 28: Mengzhang Divine Lord

Beyond the ends of the earth, an unimaginably large divine tree floats in the east of the primordial world, suppressing one extreme of heaven and earth.

This divine tree was so enormous that it covered the sky; even the Milky Way flowing in the heavens was no bigger than a branch in front of it.

This divine tree is not a true spiritual root, but rather a world formed from the convergence of the wood element of the primordial world.

The Easternmost Heaven, the eastern gateway to the primordial world, is the front line against extraterrestrial demons.

As Fang Yang arrived at the entrance of Dongji Tian, he immediately sensed a strong, murderous aura emanating from the door, as if ancient demons were waging war.

According to Meng Zhen, in the past, every time a great calamity occurred, extraterrestrial demons would descend from beyond the primordial world to attack it.

This means that when the Great Calamity erupted, the Primordial World was embroiled in internal strife, while externally, extraterrestrial demons were eyeing it covetously.

Upon hearing this, Fang Yang understood why the Heavenly Dao treated the Four Spirits and Four Clans of the Creation so favorably.

Since their birth, these four races have been silently protecting this world, and have never ventured into the primordial wilderness to compete for the destiny of heaven and earth.

With so many races, Heaven naturally has to take good care of them.

Fang Yang was relieved that he was reasonable enough not to take drastic measures just because of Meng Zhen's words.

These four tribes can only be won over, not turned into enemies.

Of course, the Four Spirits and Four Clans of Creation and the Intercepting Sect did not have a struggle over the Great Dao.

One guards the frontier, the other governs education; there are no irreconcilable contradictions between them.

"Fellow Daoist Guang Chengzi, I'm sorry, but I'm going to intercept your chosen ally first."

Fang Yang apologized to Guang Chengzi in his heart, and then stepped into the Eastern Heaven with Meng Zhen.

Meng Zhen wasn't that cunning; he hadn't been in human form for very long and didn't know much about the dark side of human nature.

He's like a college student who's just graduated; he's intelligent and quick-witted, but lacks social experience.

His judgment of things was too bookish, and he often acted according to what his father had taught him.

Upon entering Dongjitian, Fang Yang was greeted by a world filled with flowers, plants, and trees.

After the beings of this world take human form, they are all Azure Dragons. Azure Dragons are the innate Dao bodies of the Eastern Heaven!

In fact, there are as many as eighty-one innate Dao bodies in the primordial world, each corresponding to one of Pangu's eighty-one transformations.

Meng Zhang Shenjun's innate Dao body is the incarnation of the Azure Dragon; therefore, the innate Dao bodies of all beings in the Eastern Heaven are Azure Dragons.

However, this does not mean that the beings of the Eastern Heaven cannot transform into the Pangu Creation Body (human form).

Normally, all living beings only take on one form, but there are also those who take on two, three, or even infinitely many forms in the world.

Each time a living being takes on a different form, it acquires another innate Dao body.

There are many innate deities, such as the Three Pure Ones, the Twelve Ancestral Witches, Goddess Nuwa, and Emperor Fuxi. They possess both innate divine and demonic bodies and the divine body of Pangu who created the world.

The goddess Nuwa can transform into seventy different innate Dao bodies within a single day.

The Taoist Taiqing was even more powerful. He had cultivated Pangu's eighty-one transformations into eighty transformations, including the innate creation Taoist body modeled after the innate divine and demonic Taoist body of the goddess Nuwa.

Although Yuanshi Tianzun and Tongtian Jiaozhu were not as terrifying as Taiqing Shengren, they also cultivated seventy-eight transformations and left behind countless legends in the world.

The Azure Dragon clan is not a single race. Before their first transformation, they were all kinds of flowers, trees, insects, fish, birds and beasts. After their first transformation, they cultivated into Azure Dragons.

This phenomenon means that all races within the Eastern Pole Heaven have achieved unification, and there is no longer any distinction between races.

"Amazing! Divine Lord Meng Zhang has actually broken the concept of race and established a world where there is only a struggle for the Great Dao, and no struggle between races."

Flying overhead, Fang Yang witnessed the peaceful and prosperous life of all living beings in the Azure Dragon Realm, and he was filled with admiration for the Eastern Heaven.

What the Tongtian Cult Master wanted to establish was actually just such a world.

However, the situation in the primordial world was complex, and the Tongtian Sect Leader could not control the entire world like Mengzhang Divine Lord.

"Your Highness, His Majesty has learned of your return to the Eastern Heaven and is waiting for you in the Azure Dragon Palace. Also, this distinguished guest, His Majesty requests that you enter the Azure Dragon Palace with His Highness."

As soon as the two arrived outside Panlong City, a minister from the Azure Dragon came out of the city and conveyed the message of Lord Mengzhang.

Out of respect for the Tongtian Sect Leader, Meng Zhang Shenjun treated Fang Yang with great courtesy, even using the word "please".

Given Meng Zhang's status in the world, he didn't need to be so polite to Fang Yang. Meng Zhang's status was only slightly lower than that of Tongtian Jiaozhu.

Inside the Azure Dragon Palace, Fang Yang met for the first time the being who ruled over countless beings in the Eastern Heaven and protected the primordial world for three great eons.

Lord Mengzhang was a handsome young man with a refined appearance, resembling a scholar from the mortal world, and who seemed very approachable.

If you didn't look at his weathered eyes, he and Meng Zhen would look like brothers, and you couldn't tell the age difference.

"Father!"

Meng Zhen bowed first, his attitude was very casual, just like a son in an ordinary family treating his father, without so much royal etiquette.

Lord Mengzhang was already used to it. He waved his hand, telling Meng Zhen to go to the side.

"Fang Yang, a disciple of the Jie Sect, greets the Divine Lord!"

Fang Yang became somewhat nervous; whether things would succeed depended entirely on Meng Zhang Shenjun's attitude.

Lord Mengzhang slightly raised his hand and helped Fang Yang up:

"Nephew, there's no need for such formalities. I am not strangers to Fellow Daoist Tongtian. In the last great calamity, Fellow Daoist Tongtian even helped me suppress a Chaos Demon Wolf."

The last great calamity, also known as the Lich Calamity, was the third time that the primordial world was invaded by extraterrestrial demons.

While the Lich and Demon races were busy vying for supremacy, the Sages were assisting the Four Spirits of Creation in resisting the invasion of extraterrestrial demons.

The result was not bad; the prehistoric world successfully survived the third great calamity. Although Mount Buzhou collapsed, the world was at least saved.

"Then this junior will be bold and address the Divine Lord as 'Uncle-Master'."

Fang Yang was adept at seizing opportunities. Since Meng Zhang Shenjun had expressed his closeness to him, he naturally wanted to take the chance to get closer to him.

"Hahaha, my nephew is a highly accomplished disciple of Fellow Daoist Tongtian, so I am certainly worthy of being called your senior uncle. I already know the purpose of your visit. My son, Mengzhen, will lend you a hand."

Lord Mengzhang laughed heartily and generously agreed.

Upon hearing this, Meng Zhen was overjoyed.

He desperately wanted to participate in something that would benefit all living beings in the primordial world, even if he wasn't the one in charge.

He wanted the entire Azure Dragon Clan to know that he was not just a second-generation god who relied solely on his father; he also had the ability to perform meritorious deeds for all living beings.

Fang Yang was overjoyed and immediately bowed again:

"Many thanks, Martial Uncle, for your kindness! Our entire sect will never forget the assistance shown by the Eastern Heaven today!"

Lord Mengzhang waved his hand, his expression suddenly becoming serious:

"In the last great calamity, the three fellow Daoists, in order to avert the calamity, spared no effort to absorb the calamities of all living beings into themselves with their great power. They endured the cost of countless calamities devouring their hearts in order to save all living beings. What I can do is not even a fraction of what the three fellow Daoists have done."

"Go ahead, this matter is nothing to my Azure Dragon clan."
