Hello, fellow travelers walking alongside Kaelen on his journey. First of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for reading, theorizing and supporting Strifeblade Chronicles. Whether you've been here since the very beginning or joined somewhere along the way, your encouragement has meant more than you probably realize. As many of you already know, I decided to launch Book 2 as a completely separate fiction instead of continuing it as another volume under this existing story.
I made that decision after giving it a lot of thought. A fresh fiction gave Book 2 the opportunity to appear in Royal Road's discovery systems, potentially reach a much wider audience, and give the series a stronger chance to grow. From a publishing standpoint, it seemed like the best decision for the long-term future of Strifeblade Chronicles. However, over the past week I've received quite a few messages from readers expressing different opinions.
Some of you appreciate the fresh start, while others have mentioned that you'd rather have everything collected under a single fiction so the entire saga remains in one place. A few readers have even said they were surprised to discover Book 2 was separate and would prefer not to follow multiple fiction pages. The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. Since this story exists because of all of you, I don't want to make this decision based solely on my own perspective.
I'd genuinely like to hear what the community thinks before deciding how to move forward. So I'd love your honest opinion: Should Book 2 remain as its own separate fiction, or should I merge it back into this fiction as the next volume? There are advantages and disadvantages to both approaches. Keeping Book 2 separate gives it a better opportunity to attract new readers and continue growing independently, which can ultimately help the series as a whole.
On the other hand, merging everything into one fiction creates a seamless reading experience where the entire journey from Book 1 onward is available in a single place without readers needing to switch between different pages. At this point, I'm open to either option. What matters most to me is creating the best experience for both current readers and those who discover the series in the future. Please let me know what you think in the comments.
If possible, don't just vote I'd love to hear why you prefer one option over the other. Your reasoning will help me make a more informed decision. Thank you again for all your continued support, your patience, and for believing in Kaelen's story. Whatever I ultimately decide, my goal remains the same: to tell the best version of Strifeblade Chronicles that I can. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
