Chương 35: Chapter 36: Looked more like a Greg

As Emma Hopkins stared at the laptop screen, she saw what looked like some kind of high-tech combat suit flying through the air with glowing wings and a tail while also carrying another person who sounded like she was screaming. She also noticed her Blue Lagoon club in the distance, and they seemed to be heading directly towards it.

As she watched them slow down and start descending towards the VIP floor balcony that had the outdoor pool, she snapped her laptop shut and rushed out of her office, heading for the VIP room. 💫💫💫 Adam dropped Melanie Gatz to the ground just before he landed next to the pool on the VIP floor. Melanie lay there gasping for breath and suffering from shock for a few moments before she glared at him and asked angrily, "What the hell was that, you mad man? Are you trying to kill me?"

Adam looked down at her before replying coldly, "I'm considering it." Melanie gulped at the coldness in his tone before asking with nervousness, "But why? I have done nothing to you, I don't even know you."

"Is that right?" Adam replied simply as he noticed that someone had just rushed into the VIP room. Emma Hopkins quickly arrived on the balcony area and was surprised when she saw Melanie on the ground.

"What are you doing here, Melanie? You asked to leave because you said you felt unwell."

"This maniac picked me up off the street and brought me here without my consent," Melanie replied. [DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Why are you wasting your time on this streamer? "How would I know?" Melanie replied angrily as her confidence returned now that Emma was here. She had worked hard to gain Emma Hopkins' trust, and she wanted to use it to get out of this situation. Before Emma could speak, however, Adam interrupted their conversation.

"It's quite simple, Miss Hopkins, Melanie Gatz here is an informant for David Webster, better known as The Informant and has been selling him information on both you and others when she overhears something of value."

"What!" Emma asked in surprise.

"What the hell are you on about? I have never heard of either a David Webster or this Informant you speak of.. How can I sell him anything?" Melanie replied defensively.

"Well, you can't know he's dead." Emma and Melanie's eyes widened with surprise at the news.

"I'm sure it's a pure coincidence that just after the informant spoke to someone whom he named as informant seventeen, your bank account received a lump sum transferred to it each time, all from the same account as well," Adam said sarcastically. Melanie's eyes widened upon hearing this, but he just ignored her and continued.

"Nine months ago, CCTV shows in this very location, Miss Hopkins here arranging the transport of some very precious cargo for a certain government official, and you happened to be present serving drinks and entertaining the said official. I'm sure it's a pure coincidence that informant seventeen contacted David Webster shortly after said official left Club Lagoon, and then the precious cargo just happened to be mysteriously intercepted and stolen.

Oh, and let's not forget that after the job was done, your bank account mysteriously got a large payment from David Webster's account."

"I believe Miss Hopkins here had to pay out a large amount of money as compensation and lost a lot of respect for that incident." Melanie's eyes widened even more while Emma turned towards Melanie and shot her a look that could kill before saying angrily, "You traitorous bitch, do you realise how much that screw up cost me both financially and in terms of reputation?" "You killed Frank?" Melanie asked disbelievingly as tears formed in her eyes.

Well, anyway, technically, you could say you killed him, after all, you're the one who didn't heed my warning and sold my information. Frank barged in on me, interrogating David Webster about you, but instead of shooting me the intruder like a good security guard, he shot and killed David Webster. I guess Frank meant to silence him so that he couldn't give me your identity.

"Well, not that it matters," Adam said before his tail shot out and pierced Melanie's heart, killing her.

"Melanie!" Emma gasped in surprise as her eyes showed slight pity. Melanie might have betrayed her, but they had known each other for a long time.

"So, can you guess why I went through the trouble of explaining all this in front of you instead of just killing her straight away, Miss Hopkins?" Adam asked as he looked at Emma.

"I apologise."

"Emma said while nodding.

"I'm not here for an apology, Miss Hopkins; after all, this had nothing to do with you. I'm just telling you to get your house in order because if this happens again, I wont be so lenient." After he finished speaking, Adam activated the anti-gravity as the wings appeared before he shot into the air, leaving a red blur. Emma watched him disappear before looking at Melanie's corpse and saying, "Stupid girl." After that, she turned on her high heels and headed back towards her office while pulling out her phone.

"Stacey, I need you to do a full in-depth check on all my employees and their associates for anything suspicious." She said as the call connected. 💫💫💫 [Beczontop (Imperial Down): Damn it, I have to go as I have bridge duty 😖.
