Chương 27: Chapter 28: Armour changed again

"Even though you have been granted authorisation to use the Solarian anti-gravity armour to complete your mission, you are not yet authorised to use any other equipment that is already specified." Spector Android said as she handed Adam a second Phalanx MK7.

"Where am I supposed to holster it, or am I supposed to carry it in my hand the entire time?" Adam asked. However, just as he finished speaking, he noticed the armour was morphing slightly again around his right thigh. After it finished morphing, a holster for his weapon appeared on part of the armour.

"Cool," Adam said as he slotted the Phalanx MK7 into the holster and found that it sat there snugly. As he went to test how easy it was to unholster it, he found he needed slightly more force to unholster it than he thought; it was as if the blaster was being magnetically held in the holster or something. After holstering and unholstering the blaster a few times, he got used to it, so he holstered the blaster once more before turning to Spector and asking, "Anything else I need to know?"

"Flight data shows that the only other person on board the private aircraft, other than Francis and Viktor Morose, is the pilot. It appears that because of their quick departure, there was no time for the normal cabin staff employed by them to board the aircraft.

"Understood," Adam said with firm resolve before he left the room and headed back down the corridor he had come along until he exited Spector and appeared in the cave. As Adam exited the cave and stepped into the opening outside, he heard Spector speak. [Launching stream.] [[Stream description below:]] [[Stream Title: Spector's Revenge: Target's 4 and 5.]] [[Mission Parameters: The main target of Spector's revenge and his father have somehow learnt that he is hunting them. The murderer and his father, who helped cover it up, have fled the country by aircraft.]] [[Missions Goal: Eliminate the Father and Son.]] [Forever1stCommenter (Earth): First] [Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Dude, check out his new gear.] [AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): His new gear looks sick, and is that a tail?] [Whostolemyduck (Earth): It is. Why does he have a tail?] [Gunlovergirl (Earth): That is one nice military outfit.] [Sparesomechangebro (Earth): You got some new gear but can't share a bro some change? Come on, man, not cool.] [Beczontop (Imperial Down): It looks kind of like anti-gravity armour, but sleeker.] [SciFifanboy (Earth): Anti-gravity armour, that's so SciFi.] [StealthAssassin9 (Earth): Anti-gravity, as in he can fly now?] [Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Anti-gravity armour is more designed for use in the vacuum of space and to protect the wearer from the harmful energies. But yes, on a planet with gravity, it can be used to fly.] [Justiceistruth: (Earth): So the streamer is finally after the main target of his revenge, what's this about them learning he was after them though?] [Tessisdabest (Imperial Down): Someone from the party in the last stream probably tipped them off; it was foolish to give away all that information in front of so many witnesses.] [Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Harsh but accurate, the streamer may have tech far more advanced than what seems to be common on planet Earth, but you're right, it was foolish to reveal the identity of his target to so many people.] [Celebrityhunter69 (Earth): The more people know about it, the harder it is to keep a secret after all.] Adam quickly read through chat and agreed with what Tessisdabest had said; it was indeed stupid of him to reveal his target.

With so many people present, there was bound to be someone who would risk selling the information for money. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. He just had to see if Spector could trace the source of the leak so he could keep his word and punish them.

"Activate anti-gravity drive," Adam said. [Affirmative, activating anti-gravity drive.] After Spector gave her confirmation, the armour started to make a low hum as the anti-gravity drive came online. What was unexpected, however, was that the armour started to morph again. [Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Is it me, or is his armour changing?] [AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): No, it's not just you; those tube-like things on his back seem to be growing out from his body.] Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): What the hell is this?] [Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): I have no idea.] [Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Anti-gravity armours don't do that, they don't change and grow.] As the chat watched, they saw that several things kept growing out of the two tubes on the back of Adam's suit before, eventually, what looked like two wings appeared behind him.

The parts that had grown out of the tubes looked like the bone you would see from the wings of a western dragon; however, these parts were instead made of the same interconnected armour sections his tail was made of. The interconnected armour sections, however, did not move around like the tail did but stayed relatively still and instead of having a membrane that connected all the wing bones together, each of the bones had several points of light that emitted a red glow along them.

[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): What the hell is this?] [Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Is it just me, or do those look like dragon wings?] [SciFifanboy (Earth): This is more fantasy than SciFi streamer, but it still looks cool.] [Tessisdabest (Imperial Down): An anti-gravity armour that grows wings?] [Beczontop (Imperial Down): I have no idea how that happened, but the streamer's outfit looks hot.] [Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Agreed, it is very appealing to the eyes.] [Whostolemyduck (Earth): So I take it these anti-gravity suits don't normally sprout wings?] [Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Err no.] [Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): I have never heard of this. When the anti-gravity drive is activated, they normally just start flying in the air or moving through space.] As the chat talked, they watched as Adam's body started to slowly float into the air. [Superhearofangirl (Earth): Guys, he's flying.]"Wow, this is cool," Adam muttered.

[AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): Is it just me, or does it sound like the streamer has never done this before?] [Noobkiller9000 (Earth): I was thinking the same thing.] [Tessisdabest (Imperial Down): That shouldn't be possible, it requires weeks of training flights from how to operate the anti-gravity drive in order to enable flight and movement, to actually learning to move freely through space or the sky with no restrictions.] [Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Ok, wild theory, but is it possible that the streamer is actually from Earth?] [AlamoMatador4thewin (Earth): What?] [Gunlovergirl (Earth): Seriously?] [Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Impossible. As Tessisdabest just pointed out, it takes weeks of practice to learn to use the anti-gravity armour. Then there is the fact that his technology is way more advanced than anything we have ever seen before. How could someone from Earth develop all this?] [Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Maybe he found it?] [Superior4horns (Vinox 3): That still makes no sense, idiot. Explain how all that advanced technology reached Earth, and before you say it could have travelled there on a ship, might I remind you that his technology is more advanced than ours.] [Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): Superior is right, even if a ship had somehow been left adrift in space and travelled through the universe to Earth. The amount of time it would have taken to reach there without FTL travel is millions of years, and by then the ship's tech level would be way behind us, not in front.] [Justiceistruth: (Earth): FTL?] [Beczontop (Imperial Down): He means Faster Than Light. It's what is used and needed to travel between planets in the same galaxy; otherwise, travel between them would take years.] [SciFifanboy (Earth): That's so Sci-Fi.] [Noobkiller9000 (Earth): Then how does one travel between galaxies?] After Adam got over the excitement of floating in the air, he took a moment to get used to moving the suit in different directions. Unlike before, where he was able to train in the holo chamber, this time he had to get used to it on the fly, so to speak.

"Spector plot my interception flight plan," Adam said after he was ready to proceed. [Affirmative, flight plan for interception of the aircraft carrying the targets has been transmitted to your HUD.] After Spector finished speaking, the stream view switched momentarily to 1st person view, and along with Adam, they saw his HUD change slightly.

In the centre, it now contained what was needed for atmospheric flight, including Altitude bar, pitch ladder, current airspeed and Mach number, among other things, while a virtual flight path was shown to indicate the required direction. Adam rotated his body so that the indicated virtual flightpath was lined up and started flying in that direction, slowly gaining speed until he cleared the trees of the forest flying above them before he said, "Engage hypersonic flight."

After he spoke, the micro cams all closed in on him and attached themselves to different parts of his armour as the chat watched the glowing parts of the wings suddenly increase their brightness, and a moment later, Adam shot forward at such velocity that he broke the sound barrier with a loud "BOOM". At the sound of the sonic boom, people in Alamo City looked up and saw a red beam of light shooting across the sky before it soon vanished into the distance.
