Roland bristled and screamed.

But the nightingale remained vigilant, observing its surroundings.

All around them was a green wasteland, with a forest on their left. The only path they walked on was a gravel road leading to a distant suburban town.

There were no suspicious individuals, and no magical fluctuations in the air; everything seemed perfectly normal.

However, Roland's expression grew increasingly grim, and even her fox ears turned into airplane ears.

Although her ears and tail were fake, she seemed to have a real animal instinct, as if she were being watched by the rough fox boy.

Under the puzzled gaze of the Nightingale, she pulled out various props to scare people.

Other succubus employees' communication tokens, the Tree Lady's seed, the Church of Light's distress plaque, and the Iron Church's pulse stone.

There was no response.

Nightingale and Coco the cat's expressions changed.

Roland's hands kept moving, even activating little Renee's alchemical toy.

The tentacles transmitted their thoughts to the skeletal old man.

The skeletal old man then turned to look at Roland.

"My lady, I am the chief priestess under the Tentacle Mother Goddess. I have the favor of the true god and possess unparalleled power."

"If you surrender and lay down your arms, you will still be my bride, and live forever. Wouldn't that be wonderful?"

The moment Roland saw the tentacles, she immediately started cursing.

"You old geezer, neither human nor ghost, speaking in such a refined manner, do you think I can't understand you?"

"You clearly want to capture me and let the tentacles wreak havoc on me. None of you cultists are good people."
