As we arrived at the gate, I could see the war there reaching its climax. One of their generals lay dead on top of a building, his head pierced clean through, and blood dripped down from the punctured skull. On the other hand, I saw our two generals already in their Vestuto form. Healix had transformed from the old frail man who looked like he struggled to even keep his armor on his skinny body. He now appeared buffed and powerful in View, totally different than before.
His helmet carried a thunder sign, and his spear crackled with thundering electricity. However, he was missing his entire left arm and a large chunk from his shoulder. Bruxix's armor now had arm thrusters, and both of his legs were gone. He floated above the ground thanks to his self-made leg thrusters. It was a bizarre situation. Both of them were already in such a damaged state, and yet they had only killed one enemy general.
The other one, Schuster, came bursting out of a demolished building with a spear still melting through his torso. He screamed, "OLD MANNNNN! YOU THINK YOU CAN DEVASTATE ME?! I AM NOT LIKE HARZER!"
"Heat Dome!" As he shouted it, his flaming sword pulsated. An intangible barrier formed around us. While it encompassed us, it also somehow rejected us. We stood inside the barrier, yet we were not fully inside it. Schuster then explained with a big grin of his:"This world is my Heat Dome. I only pulled you two arrogant fucks in here, so I can utilize my heat on only you two.
As we already exchanged swords and fists, you realized my Vestuto, however that does not come from the soul creating an armor or changes one's body... No, mine comes from the weapon I wield. It does not only flame at a medium temperature of 520 degrees Celsius. Nooooo, that alone would be weak. I evolved it into the Heat Dome, which takes away your air. Therefore you have only about 3 minutes to either kill me or die trying. And let me tell you, the longer we fight, the more sluggish you will become!"
With that, the other two rushed in wanted to further exchange blows. Healix, with his one remaining hand, loaded his thundering gathering spear with hot thunder imbuing it into a destructive fashion of an attack. Bruxix used his air thruster shots to fly inward and unleashed point-blank air bubble shots... a barrage of air bubbles that could topple a full wall under. Yet none of it hit the target as it passed straight through Schuster's body like he is an Ethereal Human.
"Oh, did I forget to mention something?" Schuster laughed mockingly at Bruxix.
"Well, you don't need to know all of my Vestuto capabilities. hahahahah" Then the fully loaded spear, charged with 3, 000, 000 volts... as close to his ultimate of 10, 000, 000 as possible however it went straight through Harzer´s head. It passed through a nonexistent body, again. Healix suddenly remembered something.
"Hey, come back, Bruxix!" As he said those words, Schuster's flaming sword struck Bruxix's torso and burned deep into his flesh. Still, Bruxix fired his thrusters, flinging his arms backwards. As he reached the back line, Schuster did not follow. He stood still exactly where he had activated the Heat Dome at place. Bruxix then responded angrily, "You know why you called me back? Now look what he did to me!" showing his burned skin to Healix"You old coot, you better give me a good reason to return here to you.
Time is running against us. We already lost 14 seconds of precious time," Bruxix complained further. Before he could utter more complaining towards the old General, Healix uttered loudly towards Schuster, "You just gave us a huge hint a minute ago." Schuster laughed with a headshake on the whimsical call of a desperate man and answered back, "What do you mean there?
giving you HUGE hint" Healix slammed his spear into the ground and shot weak 1, 000-volt bursts consecutively from his five fingers toward Schuster's direction. After 28 seconds of constant shots, Bruxix turned and said, "What the hell you doing? This will not even tickle his armor, yet do any damage as long as he is unreachable to us." Bruxix turned to Healix.
"Did you not see what happened before with me and him or are just ignoring my Pain?" Schuster stood there grinning, not even answering those weak shots. He only laughed in hysteria with added joy.
"That was it, the hint of yours? You did not even tickle me? Hahahaha!" Healix explained something shocking to Bruxix after he finished his shots.
"I am disappointed in you… I did 388 shots in a time frame of 28 seconds with five fingers and three did make a hit. Look closely and you will see. On what i mean." As Bruxix turned around towards Schuster, he saw that the sword hilt, sword top, the tip, and the sword edge were all electrocuted.
"He said only his weapon is in Vestuto," Healix continued.
"Meaning his weakness is his weapon. I think as we hit the sword we also hit him. Now go out there and get him. I am going to prepare a big one, so it will take at least 1 minute. We do not have much time, i pray with Michaelanius in mind for your success on winning his mind! Bruxix then launched ahead with his air thrusters straight toward Schuster's sword without saying a word.
Witnessing that we had found out his weakness in such an average manner, Schuster uttered, "Now that you know my weakness, the fun part may begin. Just like many before you, found out, my tangibility with my weapon means nothing. The sword is smaller than a human's full body and carries such slimness with it. When warriors such as you see me self-attack, you think I won't hit back because it is my weakness."
Then, as he put his sword in a deliberate manner, he took the air shots and transferred the damage onto the user. If that was not enough, his sword's flame grew longer and went like a snake, enveloping Bruxix and crushing him simultaneously. As Bruxix felt this high-speed envelopment, he used his thrusters to shoot ahead at the target's sword and headbutted it, hurting Schuster's head. Still, Schuster did not let go of him. It squeezed now tighter automatically in trauma response.
Bruxix, fully knowing he could not scream because the air in his lungs would be wasted and crushed, went into a ballistic approach in mind. He max-loaded the air from his Arm thrusters and fired it point blank, hitting everything like a haymaker. It struck the full area around Schuster, freeing him at the cost of losing his thrusters in this battle, as they overloaded with overheating. He fell flat as his full Vestuto went out... detransforming him. His spirit level was fully depleted. Now he just stood there...
a man without legs, only a burned torso with broken hands barely holding him. Schuster still stood with a massive headache. The ultimate approach, which the overloading air shot was a ruse to actually fire simultaneously a certain low-precision shot of 800 psi on the sword's handlebar, had created this scene. Schuster now had such a strong headache it felt as if he was on the deep edge of the ocean... momentarily useless, at the cost of potentially dying if not handled fast.
As he looked above to see the result, a high maxed out 10, 000, 000 volt Spear shot flew right onto the sword, connecting so powerfully it burst the sword, overloading its durability and breaking his barrier. This came at the cost of Healix undoing his Vestuto and running forward with his normal spear toward the ground lying Schuster, who was still in his powerful state. Out of desperation, Healix continuously stabbed the unconscious man, but his current spirit level was too low to damage him any further.
And if that was not enough, the soldiers from Schuster's side started to run to his aid and attacked the two weakened Generals of ours. In Response of their attack we answered the same, running into the hot bloody battlefield. The moment we were about to strike each other, Reggente Sentrix air-walked from above holding a piece of wood and slammed it straight into Schuster, ripping his body in half like bread would via a knife, his blood spraying everywhere gushing out all around the Area.
He died in such a quick manner that neither the enemy nor we realized it at first. He had arguably... won against Oberkommandant Schmerz? We continued to rush forward. I, already half-beaten, ran in the middle of the pack somewhat sluggishly alongside my remaining unit. Reggente Sentrix cleared the opposing unit in 8 seconds... a force of 12, 000 men, slicing them like salami. He moved so quickly that he turned around at the end and returned to the spot where he had killed Schuster.
When he looked at our remaining numbers, he seemed pleased.
"Take Bruxix and Healix to the back line at the town square to rest," he ordered some of their Unit Soldiers.
"The rest of you, I want archers up on the remaining side walls. Everyone else, form a line of 200 soldiers at the gate exit with shield walls ready." In our heads, everyone thought it was now over. We forgot that Wittbreut versus Camrix was still ongoing in the Churches Area. Sentrix felt their fight continuing, yet he remained on edge, as if we were far from finished from outside of town I stood at the back line this time. The regulation placed the healthiest at the front and the weakest at the back.
We stood quiet and ready in the now heavy falling rain, awaiting the next wave, hopefully not many to come. Then a "bam" sound! A sword slash came from the far end of the woods and struck the clouds, dissipating them in a radius of 250 kilometers. It was as if the rain had never happened. Yet the ground remained muddy and the buildings wet. The sudden change of scenery was so perplexing that not even Wolke could have done that type of display so easily. I looked up and then back to the front.
I could not see anything clearly, but from the far back I heard the wooden man encroaching from the woods.
"Here, Reggente Siegfried," he announced. A young knight, maybe 1. 67 meters tall, stepped forward with 3, 000 soldiers and 1, 000 beasts. He said nonchalantly yet confidently, "I want to fight this Reggente Sentrix... alone. Do not engage. I want to feel what it is like to cross swords with him. It is going to be so exciting. I hope he won't disappoint me as this trip has so far."
From then on, I saw how that young man, with his broad sword in a bronze hilt, did quick strokes that cleaned away the ground, creating a huge dirt patch free from all obstacles. Even the line where we stood was blasted further back into the gate and hit the wall, but no one was really hurt. It was as if someone was guiding the wind that the sword unleashed. The only one unfazed was Sentrix, who applaudingly returned the gesture. Sentrix: "Not bad for a young one such as you. How old are you?"
Siegfried: "13," he replied with a smile on his face. Sentrix: "So young indeed. When I was your age I had just joined my second battle and killed 33 men in that fight. Ahh, reminiscing about the past is not right given the position we are in. But your bravado just now,... if that was supposed to make me shiver in fear or feel intimidated, then you are still a bed wetter. The gimmick of using the sword was pure nonsense.
You created the air from the swings and cleaned up the water and pushed my soldiers to the back for this 1v1 you seem to uphold. I will then oblige in your mistake of not using your advantage of numbers, currently that is. I am going to crush you, young one." Sentrix laughed. Siegfried closed the distance. Sentrix extended ink from his back, increasing his area of combat.
He had gauged that a mid-range setup would turn the fight in his favor against this opponent, who seemed to be a wind melee Vestuto user with range capabilities. As Siegfried came closer, his aura enveloped everything stronger and stronger, like a pulsating river with a never-ending surge. It felt far stronger than anything I had directly experienced between the three Vestuto users earlier. His presence alone evaporated the impressiveness I had barely been able to follow in the previous battles.
He felt like a being ahead of all others in might. It must have hurt anyone's pride to face such a young, arrogant opponent demanding a 1v1 while producing this kind of presence simultaneously. I, Erumes, came to terms with this bizarre situation, rooting for Sentrix´s success. Siegfried now stood head to head to Sentrix. Even though Sentrix in his Vestuto was 1. 84 meters tall against a person of 1. 67 meters in height, it somehow felt wrong.
"You are the young one," Sentrix said.
"I give you the opportunity to strike first." He pointed a finger at himself as a setup for them to start the 1v1.
"Then I WILL!" Siegfried shouted. His sword, named "Regin", slashed into the dark ink with one diagonal and two horizontal cuts in such fast motion that no one could follow except Sentrix. On the third strike Sentrix said, "Not enough to cut my skin young one." He then used the ink from his back and extended it to hold Siegfried's legs. Siegfried quickly tried to cut into the ink structure, but it hardened too fast for real damage to occur.
Siegfried could see his cuts on the ink, yet no visible broken pieces appeared. With that not being enough, Sentrix pulled Siegfried up, holding him upside down, and punched right into his stomach so many times that waves rippled from his back. He clearly intended to end it quickly as he thoughts was not that 1 v 1, but the Army behind them and hoping for the Zendur Force to appear.
Even so, Siegfried, smiling with blood in his mouth, rushed two air shocks onto Sentrix's shoulders, hammering his tempo and resulting in a weaker continued barrage of punches. As that was not enough, Siegfried pulled an air wave from his head... which was now at the bottom... shooting so fast upward that it broke Sentrix's hold on him. Sentrix air-walked after hardening his hands into two spears for extended reach, but he hit nothing.
Siegfried used the air waves to pressure him further upward while lowering Sentrix down, resulting in a clean break away. Both landed on the ground. Siegfried: "Wohoho, it is nice to be on the back end again of a fight. You are just like a Drachenlein in Spirit Level." Sentrix: "From the exchanges I can feel our gap is too much. You cannot damage me, young boy. I felt your strength. You are as strong as the observing Schmerz behind you.
I can tell when exchanging with foes how strong the Animo the spirit level is of theirs." Sentrix estimated his own value at around 10. Schmerz was a 6 when they exchanged. Forgetting that Schmerz was at full strength, he imagined Vestuto Siegfried at an 7, 5, which was very powerful for someone so young. He could also not accept it, that such a young teen has such powerful Animo. In his logical conclusion, at this brat's age he himself had been a 2 at best. Siegfried said nothing regarding to his Spirit gauging.
He just enjoyed the fight and wanted it to continue.
"Now I will gear it up with Regin, my beautiful wide broadsword. You will witness winds rising even faster than before, so ready yourself Reggente Sentrix." Sentrix: "As you wish. I will go all out on you! I am calling forth my weapon." He hardened his stomach and screamed. The ground shook so hard that the full area of 20 km experienced a small earthquake. He pushed out a long sword coated in his ink's darkness. Weirdly though, it wobbled around with no firm center.
It was not in his usual liquid or hardened state at all. Siegfried combined his air waves at now a stronger current, much stronger, with higher speed... about near ¼ faster than before... right on Sentrix's legs. The air pressures hit him, trapping his legs underground and cutting 9 cuts in an instant. Yet Sentrix's body did not take a high amount of damage. As he then used his sword on Siegfried, the latter used the air pressures to change the trajectory of the sword in vain.
The sword wobbled through it and cut right into Siegfried's retreating left leg, leaving ink on his armor that indicated damage that went into his body. As Siegfried regained his footing and Sentrix released his trapped legs from the ongoing pressure, Siegfried comprehended on landing that the ink would not let him heal his wound at all. Surprised about it, he said, "That's a first. Usually I can start healing passively but it won't budge. Your ink has a nasty property from your sword."
Sentrix rushed in, hitting his wobbling sword right on target. Siegfried could not defend those high-speed slashes. From the exchanging 48 cuts, a big 26 reached him. As Siegfried struggled to gain his footing, his burst of increased aura pushed Sentrix away instinctively, as if his whole body told him to run. Siegfried: "I can't do this no more. You are no fun, Mister Sentrix. You are going all out on ending it without considering my pleasure from it. Therefore I can't enjoy this bout no more.
Now I will show you what happens if you piss me off." As he released more of his aura, even Sentrix, who could usually ignore it... moved backwards subconsciously. Sentrix: "No no no, that can't be. No, I do not accept it. I fought in so many wars, lost so much and gained so little over time. I reached my level over years of hard work and this fucking runt has reached it too, my world..... I am not accepting it. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
In self-denial, not accepting the releasing spirit level equaling his, not even thinking ahead that it was just his strength without Vestuto in full display. Sentrix was enraged about what was unfolding. All his life fighting and gaining little, building a strong foundation, only to see on the other end a being with such strong potential. His world view collapsed. Siegfried now just made 1 cut with sheer wind pressure, tearing apart Sentrix's complete left arm and shoulder.
His sword dropped to the ground, but Siegfried still did not stop. He transformed his dark ocean, expanding like spikes and hitting the satchel from Siegfried, causing 2 skulls to fall to the ground.. Siegfried continued in response to transform in his Vestuto state. All of us witnessing it, even Sentrix... felt it was such a dimension of power unseen for us in the low world of Orbis Terrarum. Strength such as this should not exist on such a low level warzone.
Sentrix's life flashed back from his youth, seeing a parallel when his master went Vestuto and his strength was too high for the opposite field. They gave in morally and could slaughter for Graf Robert's name. He now knew his life was forfeit. It was no use to struggle, even his treasure could not save him now. Nothing he could muster would change it. Not even the incoming mercenaries would do anything.
His power was just that unknown factor, but that unknown was enough to destroy the balance of this war in favor of victory for Metia and his lord Heinrich Himmel. Siegfried, in anger: "You did not let me enjoy our fight more and now I am the one who is at full strength. You giving up? Ohh, I do not think so." He cut Sentrix's legs with such fast-paced slashes that it looked as if he was never born with legs. There was no trace of blood, no traces left of the legs...
just an armored knight in green with a green aura surrounding him. Siegfried: "Any last words, Mister Disappointing?" Sentrix, with a plea: "Please do not kill my people. Let them live. Please, I beg you, Sire." The Reggente Sentrix put his defeated head to the ground, lying there like a beggar begging for food. Siegfried's only reply was, "You are barking at the wrong tree. I will and cannot grant you that request. There is already a plan for your folk being prepared. Our Lord knew the outcome already.
And before you say anything about your mercenaries, the other two went Force lines of ours are taking care of them. The reason you lost was simple. Your nation has no history such as ours. You are too young. You had no chance to really build one. As Lord Himmel said: Nip it in the bud, before that bud poisons the earth." Sentrix tore up in his helpless state, knowing it was truly over. He looked up at Siegfried once more. Siegfried already cut his head off, flaying all his flesh. Only a skull remained.
Siegfried, in a disappointing tone: "I did this one out of habit. And no, this one won't join my fun collection." He crushed the skull into mere specks of broken pieces that fell to the ground. All of us cried in dread and despair. The war ended in such a manner, breaking everyone's spirit. Though mine did not break. I picked up my longsword in my exhausted state and ran toward Siegfried, ignoring everything around me. All because of the one skull that had my father's helmet on it.
I ran toward him in a crying state, throwing my life into the dirt. Siegfried just looked up at the sky, thinking of his ultimate dream of fighting with Drachen (Dragons). That was his ultimate goal in life. Not really in real life anymore, but in a lucid state dreaming of fighting Drachen. As I reached him started to cut him for 2 minutes, letting everything out of my frustration, my delusion, my hatred... The other forces slowly approached the battlefield.
Siegfried came back to himself and saw a younger boy than him attacking him while having tears flowing down their Face. Without noticing, his sword cut my predominant hand which carried out my weak, nonsensical assault, slicing it out into oblivion and leaving nothing behind. My body immediately sent me the information that I had just lost my complete arm. Siegfried asked, "What's your name?" As I screamed in agony, Siegfried went to get a branding tool and performed it himself on my open wound.
He closed it with the mark of enslavement, and therefore made me collapse from the burned sensation where my right arm used to be. The branding was a large, downward-pointing triangle in scorched golden-yellow color biting deep into the flesh, its edges jagged and uneven like a torn parchment. Inside it sits the All-Seeing Eye, wide open, unblinking, merciless stare... indication always under watch.
The pupil is a perfect black void that seems to stare straight into the soul of anyone who looks at it, and back into the branded one forever. The eye does not sleep. It does not forgive. It only watches. Beneath the triangle, the ancient Ankh cross-style is burned vertically down the center of the mark, its looped top fused to the base of the triangle. The cross of life and death sinks into the skin like a claim of ownership over body and soul.
Its lines are thick, rough, and brutal, as though showing all viewing in permanent ownership over the branded. To the right, overlapping the stem of the Ankh, blazes the blood-red letter H in ornate, cruel Gothic script to dedicate direct branding region for localization issues. The crossbar of the H cuts across the Ankh like a chain binding the old symbol to its new slave. Once healed, the mark remains raised and angry.
The golden parts of the triangle and Ankh have an unnatural metallic sheen, almost glowing faintly in darkness. The red "H" from Heinrich Himmel stays the color of fresh blood no matter how much time passes. Your branding is always active... Did you know this text is from a different site?
