Chương 41: Update: Still alive and kicking

Hello all, For those of you still following this book after years of inactivity, let me start out by thanking you for not un-following me after I disappeared. What can I say other than "Life Happens." I had a few personal things pop up that I needed to address and this book kind of fell by the wayside. After a while I kind of just put things off until it finally ended up being out of sight and out of mind.

Work issues, becoming a grandfather a couple times over and finally a long stint in the hospital that saw me having to have two life saving surgeries; all ending in me pushing this book to the back burner of daily importance. Currently, I am doing well in recovery and hopefully will be having a third and final surgery to correct some minor issues and then I will be fully recovered.

During my down time, I have re-approached this book and began to reread it to reacquaint myself with my characters and the essence of the story in the hopes of awakening the writing process once again. I have over 100K words already completed before life hit me, and I will be striving to complete the book very soon. Once I have finished writing the book I will start to break it down and submit chapters here on RR so that you can read them.

After which time, I will begin the long process of editing and reworking part of the story. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. To be honest, if I were the RR members reading these chapters I would seriously be asking what I was doing.

Run on sentence or run on paragraphs don't even begin to address the absolute word salads I created previously. Over the last two weeks I have been going through my book chapter by chapter and tried to cut it down a bit and hopefully make it flow a lot better. I am, close to finishing the novel and will start posting the new chapters soon. I will, however, start with re-posting the edited chapters, replacing the ones already posted.

To preempt the questions or comments about the prologue, Yes, I am keeping the prologue subject matter as is LOL... I like how the book starts off right away with the conflict and showcases what will be the story's main antagonist.
