Chương 86: Extra: Bestiary - The Hellhounds

Bestiary: Hellhounds Appearance: These are three large wolves with manes of fire so hot that they burn blue. Their bodies are a shadowy black with pieces of their bone on the outside of their bodies, where they should be inside. Each is identical in all but size. One small, one medium, and one large towering above the others.

"The large one I call "alpha." The other two are Bravo and Charlie." – notes from a Redeemer. Each of them bears a bright red collar with hooks on the back. An ethereal blue chain can be summoned to hold them still or to chain them to a specific area. Loot Drop: Hell Hounds (Beast Summon) When summoned, these hounds are quite the vicious ally. Their most notable benefit is that there are three of them contained in one piece of loot. Three summons for the price of one.

The fire on their bodies will easily burn anything it touches, but they don't seem to be able to use it to send long-range attacks. At best, the fire acts as a protective coating around their bodies. Their main attack tool is their viciousness. When an enemy is in sight, they will not stop attacking until either it or they are dead. And on top of that, each hound seems to have some sort of telepathic bond with the others. They can coordinate attacks, surrounding and entrapping their prey. Enjoying the story?

Show your support by reading it on the official site. Their loot comes with a ghostly chain that attaches to each of their collars but can be separated. If you place one end of the collar on a particular object, the hound will stay and guard the object even if its user is far away. And three hounds means a guard for three different things at all times.

"In all honesty, the best use for these hounds is for hunting. Tell them to go find lunch, and you'll have a whole deer in less than ten minutes. Known Location(s): One set of hellhounds can be found guarding a tree in a park on the far east side of Acron. They're attached to a squirrel that requires them to guard its winter nuts.

Behavior (Speculative): These three hounds are loyal and vicious servants to their master, whoever they may be. They behave much like real dogs from our own world. Only attacking if they feel threatened. Elsewise they have a natural inclination to guard a particular object or area. Guard dogs. Fairly intelligent, too. As mentioned before, they have a telepathic way of communicating with each other. Meaning they're capable of complex thoughts and maybe even empathy. It only shows when they're together, however.

When separated, they become no more intelligent than the rest of the rabid people killing demons.
