"Isn't that the brat we talked about at Mama Mia's restaurant that night?"
"Oh, wow. He is fighting that many monsters by himself. That is amazing."
"Amazing."
"Hey, hey, what kind of joke is this? A rookie adventurer is soloing that many Orcs while protecting a Supporter? Is he really a rookie?" Bete gritted his teeth as he watched the heated battle below in the Natural Arsenal. A sliver of his pride had taken a hit.
"Judging by his presence, he is indeed a rookie adventurer. He has not reached Lv. 2. Hard as it is to believe, I heard he became an adventurer only a few days ago." Finn spoke with visible shock.
"If this guy is a rookie, how do you explain that strength? Even a Lv. 1 adventurer with S-rank Basic Abilities should not be able to do this." Bete pointed at the distant figure in the battle, jaw clenched.
"Indeed. It is hard to believe. How is he doing this?" Riveria's gaze looked as if her common sense had been cracked.
"Amazing." Lefiya stared blankly.
"Look carefully. Although the boy's attacks seem extremely powerful and he is nearly killing one Orc with every strike, his sword angles, use of force, and body movements have no proper standard at all. He is a complete novice who does not understand how to move or apply strength." Finn pointed toward the figure below.
"Then how do you explain what we are seeing?"
"Look at the boy's sword. It is just an ordinary sword. It even has cracks, but it is absurdly sharp. It pierces straight through the Orcs' hide-like skin and cuts them open."
"A Skill," Riveria realized.
"That should be it. Apart from Skills, I cannot think of any reason someone who became an adventurer only a few days ago could exceed common sense like this." Finn rubbed his chin in thought.
"Could it be a targeted Skill like Ais's?" Bete asked in a low voice. Ais's Avenger could greatly increase damage against monsters and let her fight monsters above her level.
"Even Loki said Ais's Skill is one of the strongest among mortals. How could this brat have more potential than Ais? Even Ais took a year to reach this point. How many days has this brat had?"
"And did none of you notice? His strength, speed, agility, and endurance have all reached Lv. 2 levels. Growing that much in only a few days? Do you think that is possible?" Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit. Bete could not accept the facts in front of him and laid out every doubtful point. A blond, golden-eyed girl with a slightly absent expression watched the boy protect the girl behind him while fighting the swarm of monsters.
Images overlapped in her mind, and she tilted her head. Father? Riveria pondered in silence for a moment.
"It is true. But if he has more than one rare Skill like Ais's, then the situation begins to make sense."
"What?"
"Indeed. If he has multiple rare Skills, it could explain this. During the rookie stage, it is possible. And the first time he entered the Dungeon, he encountered an Irregular. That was a true adventure. It barely explains an abnormal increase in Basic Abilities." Gareth spoke in a deep voice.
"We still cannot conclude anything. My instincts tell me he has not gone all out yet." Finn stared hard at the figure fighting in the Natural Arsenal, his expression strange.
"What?" Everyone was shocked.
"Even jokes have limits. Something this ridiculous, and he still has not gone all out?" Bete's eyes went round.
"He still has another sword at his waist that he has not drawn. Carrying two identical swords proves he uses dual blades."
"That is true. Ais and I met him in Goibniu's weapon shop, and he chose twin swords. Not only that, he still has powerful Magic he has not used." Riveria spoke as if she were looking at a monster.
"So the rumors were true after all. Tch." Bete clenched his fists tightly. At the time, he had mocked the rumors as exaggerated nonsense. He had not expected the clown to be himself.
"A monster."
"Yes. A monster."
"A monster who actively lures monsters over to fight."
"I want to meet that boy and ask how he became that strong in just a few days." Tiona spoke with innocent excitement and prepared to jump down.
"Do not bother him. We still have an expedition mission. Do not waste time here, dummy." Tione quickly grabbed her sister's arm.
"Right. Do not disturb him. We should go." Finn shook his head. He had memorized that boy deeply.
"Wait. That brat just drew both swords. I want to see how far his full strength goes." Bete, still staring at the battlefield, held out a hand and stopped everyone.
"Mr. Cael! Seven on the left, two with weapons! Five on the right, and one with a weapon in front!" Lili shouted while looking around in terror. This was bad. This was bad. Mr. Cael was strong, but there were too many Orcs. They were surrounding them quickly. She should not have listened to him and lit the monster-luring incense. Her hand touched the Crozzo Magic Sword hidden at her chest. It had cost one hundred thirty thousand valis and could only be used three times. Did she have no choice but to use it now?
"Lili, get down!" Cael shouted. Lili turned and saw an Orc behind her raising a dead tree branch. She immediately hugged her head and curled up. At the critical instant, a white sword pierced the Orc's chest. The Orc screamed, turned to ash, and dropped a Magic Stone split in half.
"Heh. There really are quite a few of them. They surround fast too. Looks like everything in the Natural Arsenal has gathered here. It is time." Cael drew the other sword at his waist, his blood racing as a grin rose on his face. Magic light appeared in his hand, and another sword slowly projected into existence. He had deliberately drawn all the Orcs here so he could wipe them out in one move. Orcs were huge. Unless he hit the Magic Stone or cut off the head, their bulky bodies would not die from a single slash.
At minimum, he needed two strikes. He looked around. A wall of monsters had already formed, sealing off every route of retreat. Unless a five-person party of Lv. 2 adventurers was here, this situation meant certain death. Lili hid behind Cael in terror. The pressure coming from the monsters made her limbs tremble.
"Starburst Stream." Cael watched the Orcs suddenly charge and smiled. His gaze sharpened as he activated the sword Skill Starburst Stream. Wind burst around his body and along his sword edges. Lili's hood was instantly blown back, and her hair scattered in the gale. Cael's hair lifted in the violent rush of wind around him. The next instant, he moved. First strike. The airflow split. Every Orc lined up along the path of the blade was torn apart in a chorus of screams.
